Precious young people, I would like to express this truth first and in particular: strong states are undoubtedly consisted of strong nations. One of the first conditions of being a strong nation is to have a healthy society structure. In this respect, it is our primary duty to save our nation, especially tobacco and alcohol, especially our young people from the grip of harmful habits. So tobacco does not only affect users; It also influences children, women and all segments of society who are exposed to passive drinking. We have made significant progress in this field with our legal regulations, inspections and sanctions, support and awareness studies. In 2008, we took a vital step by prohibiting smoking in closed areas with the Law No. 4207, which we put into force by reorganizing it. We have commissioned advertising, promotion and sponsorship bans for tobacco products. With visuals, warnings, monochrome arrangements, we prevented cigarette packs from being attractive. Our active inspection teams continue their tobacco inspections throughout Türkiye uninterruptedly. Provincial Health Directorates, so far over 42 million inspections have done. In 2025 cross inspections, we identified 3 thousand 718 violations.

Millions of citizens are receiving treatment

184 Sabim line and mobile applications with the hands of our citizens, violations quickly inform the Ministry of Health. We serve our citizens who want to quit smoking with 671 cigarette cessation polyclinic all over our country. We provide free medicine support and nicotine treatment. 3.8 million examinations have been done so far, more than 1.5 million citizens have benefited from treatment support. Likewise, we prepare plans to quit smoking with Alo 171 Advisory Line. With our public spots, social media campaigns, education and awareness activities, we strive to keep our youth away from tobacco. This year we started the “Stop Smoking, Change Your Life” campaign, we have reached more than 188,000 citizens, we touched each of the lives of each. I hope we will continue to work with determination for a smokeless Türkiye. We will never allow young people to be poisoned with all our institutions, local governments, universities and non -governmental organizations such as Yeşilay.
