15 age restriction on social media! Minister Uraloğlu announced the details
TIME SPENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA IN Türkiye IS APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS
Stating that another striking statistic is the time spent on the internet, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Look, the time that internet users aged 16 and over spend using the internet every day in the world is approximately 6.5 hours, and in Türkiye it is approximately 7 hours. The average daily time spent on social media platforms is approximately 3 hours in our country.” he said.
Uraloğlu pointed out that these periods indicate a critical area that cannot be left blank and said, “At this point; parents, teachers and educational institutions, policy makers, media or non-governmental organizations… No matter who they are, in this virtual world where lies and truth are intertwined, they have to use the internet and social media platforms consciously and develop their digital literacy skills.” he said.
“CHILDREN UNDER 15 YEARS OF AGE WILL NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT ON SOCIAL MEDIA SITES”
Uraloğlu, who called for not leaving children alone in the digital world in these days when the spirituality of Ramadan is felt to the core, continued his words as follows:
“In this blessed Ramadan, while we discipline our souls with fasting and open our hearts to the will of Allah, it is our duty to protect the innocent souls of our children with the same sensitivity. Because Ramadan is not only about starving physically, but also about cleansing heart and mind. In the face of the attraction of the screens, we should not surrender their little hearts to the false realities and lie-filled contents produced by artificial intelligence. Let’s teach them to make conscious choices in the face of content that can be prepared much more realistically with a technology such as artificial intelligence. This At this point, the social media regulation for children, which we have already been working on in coordination with our Ministry of Family and Social Policies, will be submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the coming days. With the proposal, children under the age of 15 will not be able to open accounts on social networking sites and will only be able to access games appropriate to their age. We will increase the responsibilities of internet service providers and social network platforms in this regard, and no one will prevent us from protecting our children. “I would also like to share with you that support for the necessary regulations on this issue has reached 90 percent.”
“AS THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE, WE ARE ESTABLISHING INFORMATION HIGHWAYS”
Emphasizing that satellite technologies are a matter of independence and sustainability, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Today, communication satellites play a critical role not only in broadcasting, but also in all areas of life, from the uninterrupted continuation of communication in times of disaster to the maintenance of public services without any disruptions, from defense infrastructures to agricultural production.” he said.
Reminding that they put TÜRKSAT 6A, the first domestic and national communication satellite they produced with a localization rate of over 80 percent, into service last year, Uraloğlu said, “Now, hopefully, we will continue on our way with TÜRKSAT 7A. We know that the more inclusive, faster and more resilient a country’s communication systems are, the higher its digitalization capacity is. With this understanding, we, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, do not only build highways, airlines, railways and ports; we also build information. “We are building highways.” he said.
“WE WILL PROVIDE 5G SERVICES TO OUR CITIZENS”
Uraloğlu stated that they earned an income of 3 billion 534 million dollars as a result of the 5G authorization tender held on October 16, 2025, with the competition of Turkcell, Vodafone and Türk Telekom. Uraloğlu said, “As I just mentioned, we will offer 5G services, the first signal of which will be received on April 1, to our citizens in every point of our country within 2 years. With 5G, our communication speed will increase approximately tenfold; uninterrupted and more reliable communication will be provided.” he said.
Uraloğlu said that with this technology: fully autonomous driving and smart road applications, vital health interventions such as remote surgeries, smart factories and production optimization with real-time data transfer, sustainable high-efficiency production with smart agricultural applications, uninterrupted live broadcasts in 8K image quality on the media will be possible.
Uraloğlu continued his words as follows:
“One of our most important priorities in this great transformation is the vision of a Turkey in which technology is not only consumed but also produced with local and national means. In the 5G authorization tender, we obliged our operators to use up to 60% of domestically certified products and 30% of national communication products, increasing over the years. There is also a national product obligation in mobile private networks. Communication Technologies Cluster (HTK) consists of more than 160 companies and more than 8000 companies. “We have developed 5G core network, base station and software with studies such as ‘End-to-End Local and National 5G Communication Network Project’ with the support of TÜBİTAK and UDHAM. We have successfully commissioned the domestic 5G core network and ULAK base stations in the HASDAL smart road project.”

Breaking news! Phase 2 of the goal of a terror-free Türkiye! Here is the new message of İmralı: Emphasis on democratic politics and positive construction
Democratic integration is at least as important as the beginning of the Republic. It is a call that contains wealth and wealth in terms of meaning, future and power. At its core is the democratic society model. It is an alternative to segregationist or, conversely, assimilationist methods. The transition to democratic integration requires peace laws. The democratic society solution envisages the establishment of an architecture and law in political, social, economic and cultural dimensions.
DEMOCRACIC POLITICS…
The reason for many problems and crises experienced today is the absence of democratic law. We are based on a legal solution within the framework of democratic politics. We need an approach that will give space to a democratic society, give space to democracy and create strong legal guarantees for this.
Citizenship relations should be established on the basis of ties with the state, not on belonging to the nation. We take as a basis a free citizenship based on freedom in religion, nationality and thought. Just as religion and language cannot be imposed, neither should nationality. A constitutional citizenship relationship within democratic borders and based on the integrity of the state includes the right to freely express and organize religious, ideological, identity and national existence.
Today, no system of thought can survive without democracy as a basis. Ups and downs, tensions and crises are temporary, democracy is what will be permanent sooner or later. Our call aims to find a solution to the problem of living together and the crisis it creates, not only in Türkiye but also in the Middle East. We defend the right of all oppressed people to exist and express themselves freely.
Women are among the leading social forces that no society or state can sustain itself without taking into account. Today, domestic violence, femicides, patriarchal oppression are all current reflections of the historical attack that started with the enslavement of women. For this reason, women are the most liberal part and driving force of democratic integration.
The language of the period cannot be commanding and authoritarian. We should take as a basis to give the other person the opportunity to express himself correctly, to listen correctly, and to express his own truths.
The realization of all these issues requires a developed common mind based on mutual respect.

Urban transformation protest against CHP – Last Minute News
Citizens who were aggrieved by the İsmetpaşa Neighborhood Urban Transformation Project, which could not be implemented for years in Mersin’s Tarsus district, protested the CHP municipality. The contract between the municipality subsidiary TESKİ and the residents of the neighborhood was signed in March 2021. In the region covering approximately 600 houses, nearly 3 thousand citizens were informed that the houses would be built and delivered within 36 months, but the CHP municipality did not hit a single nail. It was noted that the CHP municipality, under the management of Mayor Ali Boltaç, prepared a new contract to cover the project expenses and tried to indebt citizens with higher amounts based on the new unit square meter price.
NOTICE WAR
Rights holders gathered in front of the planned construction site and protested against CHP officials. The rights holders went to the notary, issued a counter-warning in response to the municipality’s warning, and demanded their rights as soon as possible. In the statement made by the victim group regarding the endless crisis, it was stated, “With this step, we have conveyed that we do not accept the new contracts that they want to force them to sign. We also explained that we cannot pay the increased square meter prices. We even reminded them once again in our notary letter that the contracts we have for 2021 are valid. İsmetpaşa District will remain the property of İsmetpaşa residents.”
