Clear message from Minister Gürlek: “Together we will break the perception that justice favors the strong”

Published

on

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek visited the Istanbul Regional Administrative Court. Minister Gürlek, who came together with the Regional Administrative Court Department Heads and Administrative Court Presidents at the meeting, stated in his speech that they wanted to hear the problems experienced in practice on site and said, “We came to listen to your problems. If there are problems you encounter regarding the practice, we are here with our deputy ministers.”

Pointing out that there are two main problems affecting trust in the judiciary, Minister Gürlek said that the sense of trust in courthouses is not at the desired level. Minister of Justice Gürlek said, “There are two main reasons for this. The first is the lengthening of cases and trials. The second is the perception that justice is on the side of the powerful. You all work very hard. I am sure of this. You take files to your homes. All judges and prosecutors working in Istanbul definitely compromise their families. They compromise themselves. As a colleague of yours, I ask you to take care of your files. I request that the trial periods do not get longer. We are a big family. We all share the perception that justice is on the side of the powerful. We will break it.” he said. Calling on members of the judiciary at the meeting, Minister Akın Gürlek drew attention to the importance of concluding the cases within a reasonable time. Minister Gürlek said, “I want you to protect your files. I want you to put yourself in the shoes of the citizens. A stay of execution decision you make as an administrative judiciary can lock the system momentarily.” he said.

DELAYED FILES WILL BE FOLLOWED CLOSELY

Minister Gürlek stated that they attach importance to target periods in the judiciary and said, “If a case is not completed within the target period, there must be a reasonable reason for this. If there is workload, a new court will be established or judges and personnel will be reinforced. But if there is a delay caused by the judge, necessary action will be taken.” he said. Stating that the judicial organization is a large structure, Minister Akın Gürlek emphasized that they will fight against people who harm the profession.

“WE ARE THINKING OF BUYING APPROXIMATELY 300 RESIDENCES IN ESENLER”

Stating that the housing opportunities for judges and prosecutors in Istanbul will be increased, Minister Gürlek announced that new housing has been purchased on the Anatolian side and a new project is planned in Esenler. Minister Gürlek said, “We bought new lodgings on the Anatolian Side. We are planning to buy approximately 300 lodgings in Esenler. We will solve the lodging problem.” he said. Minister Gürlek also touched upon the regulation regarding the term of office in Istanbul within the scope of the principle decisions of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors. Stating that Istanbul will be evaluated within the scope of the eastern mission, Minister Gürlek said that the term of office has been determined as 10 years.

Minister Göktaş invited citizens to sign the ‘Child Rights Convention’

Published

on

Minister Göktaş explained the importance they attach to the “Children’s Rights Convention in the Digital World” and the necessity of the agreement with the video he shared on his social media account. Göktaş also stated in his post that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was one of the first to sign the contract, and stated that the sole purpose is to protect children against the risks of the digital world and raise them as more conscious individuals.

“THERE SHOULD BE A SAFER SPACE FOR CHILDREN”

Inviting parents, teachers and children to sign the contract with the video he shared, Göktaş said, “Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, shares his own child’s face covering on his own platform. So why is he not so sensitive about our children? The founder of Snapchat gives his child only 1.5 hours of screen time per week. Netflix’s CEO: ‘Our biggest rival is sleep.’ he says. In other words, while they are trying to make our children stay on these platforms longer, they are trying to keep their own children away from them.” he said.

Stating that they are working to make these platforms safer spaces for children, Göktaş said:

“Dear children, we are trying to prevent you from encountering content that is not appropriate for your age, from people you do not know on social media reaching you and harming you. This is exactly why we attach great importance to the Convention on Children’s Rights in the Digital World, of which our President is one of the first signatories. Let me tell you this, we attach great importance to our children’s effective use of technology. We support Teknofests, DENEYAP workshops, TUBITAK competitions, startup supports and many technology-related events for our children. Our aim here is “To ensure that our children use technology correctly and to protect them from content that is mentally, psychologically and developmentally harmful.”

The ‘ecosystem’ in Istanbul was moved to Izmir – Last Minute News

Published

Businessman Mehmet Tekinap established 2 shopping malls opposite each other in Izmir Balçova in 2006, with an investment of 150 million dollars. It was claimed that 2 fuel stations located in shopping malls with 120 stores have been occupied by Esas Petrol for 7 years. Speaking to SABAH, Mehmet Tekinalp said, “Izmir 4th Commercial Court of First Instance ruled to terminate the activities of the stations. Despite this decision, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality does not revoke the licenses of fuel stations. The ‘ecosystem’ in Istanbul has literally moved to Izmir. Ozan Karaca, the lawyer son of CHP Denizli Deputy Gülizar Biçer Karaca, is the lawyer of Esas Petrol and a CHP deputy. Gülizar Biçer’s company is also protected.

Processes in Izmir Metropolitan Municipality are being deliberately obstructed. I invested 150 million dollars. In return for my investment, I was granted an operating period limited to 29 years. However, we cannot exercise our operating rights due to the occupation of the stations for years. However, the invaders, who do not have any permits, are hosted in the heart of Izmir without paying a single penny. “This unity of interest stems from the fact that the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality did not cancel the license, and the CHP deputy protected the unfair transactions of his fellow countryman, the company owner, through political instructions.” Businessman Tekinalp, who was also featured in the column of SABAH Newspaper writer Mahmut Övür, also reacted to the CHP’s Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which did not implement the court decision, with the banner he hung on the overpass connecting the two sides of the shopping mall.

It was understood that there were statements of complainants and witnesses stating that, in accordance with Article 18 of the Zoning Law, Kuşadası Municipality demanded bribes from the land owners in order not to make deductions in the parceling of plots and lands upon the instructions of the Mayor.

It was also determined that the complainant statements of the Mayor of Kuşadası and the relevant unit managers were that “100 thousand dollars were requested from the contractors to be used in the Presidential elections in the settlement permit and license procedures given by the Municipality. The suspects named Ali Ertan Yurtsever and Atila Yurtsever, the owners of Florart Peyzaj Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş. operating in Kuşadası, mediated the crimes of “bribery” and “extortion” in connection with the Kuşadası Municipality through the relevant company accounts.
