Minister Göktaş: “9 thousand 152 foster families offer a warm home to 10 thousand 897 children”
In his speech at the 2nd Social Benefit Award Ceremony of the Women’s Non-Governmental Organizations Foundation from Anatolia to the World (AYSİT) held at Pendik Mehmet Akif Ersoy Art Center, Göktaş said that while a family raises its child as a strong individual, it also shapes the future of the country.
Stating that touching a child’s life is sometimes just like opening a door, Göktaş said, “But the hope that enters through that door can change a life, or even generations, over time. That’s why being a foster family is literally a butterfly effect. This journey, which starts with a small kindness, turns into a big change that transforms the fate of a child, the story of a family and the future of the society. Let’s not forget that every mercy that touches a child’s heart is the most valuable step that builds the strong society of tomorrow.” he said. Minister Göktaş stated that 9 thousand 152 foster families provided a warm home to 10 thousand 897 children and stated that the “Heart Ambassadors Project” carried out under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, enabled the spread of foster family services. Stating that the project is shown among UNICEF’s good practice examples, Göktaş noted that the project has also become a model taken as an example by many countries.
“OUR CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS HAVE BEEN THE STRONGEST SUPPORTERS OF PROTECTIVE FAMILY SERVICE IN THE FIELD”
Explaining that they offer care services appropriate to the needs of children with the temporary and professional foster family models launched last year, Göktaş said, “With this model, we made 214 children benefit from temporary and professional foster family services in 81 provinces in just 6 months. At the end of these processes, we directed our children to the appropriate ones among temporary foster family, adoption, return to biological family or institutional care services.” he said. Emphasizing that they consider the foster family service extremely important, Göktaş stated that beyond providing temporary support to a child, it gives him/her belonging, identity and hope. Minister Göktaş pointed out the importance of school-age children growing up in foster care and said:

Minister Bayraktar: We are on the verge of a great transformation in the world.”
‘WE ARE GOING TOWARDS THE ELECTRIC AGE’
Noting that they are heading towards the electric age, Bayraktar said:
“Today, there are nearly 450 thousand electric vehicles in Türkiye. Our estimate is that by 2035, perhaps 6 to 8 million vehicles will be electric on our roads. We are heading towards an electric age. Therefore, we have to supply energy to ensure the rising living standards of our citizens. But Türkiye has a dilemma in this regard. Unfortunately, Turkey is a country dependent on foreign sources for energy. We import almost two out of three units of energy we use. So are natural gas, oil, fuel oil and coal. Therefore, We say, ‘The more we reduce our foreign dependency here, the foreign currency we pay abroad will remain in our pocket, in our treasury.’ These are now in Türkiye; “Inflation, foreign exchange, all of these will no longer be a problem.”
‘Türkiye IS TRYING TO BUILD NUCLEAR, ITS 70-YEAR-OLD DREAM’
Stating that they started oil exploration abroad as well as in Türkiye, Bayraktar continued as follows:
“We are looking for oil day and night, we are looking for natural gas. We are looking for oil and natural gas day and night. We are looking for it in Türkiye, we are looking for it in our seas. Now we are going abroad, we have started to search abroad. That is why Turkey is trying to build nuclear energy, which has been its dream for 70 years. That is why Turkey built hydraulic power plants. Now it is trying to put renewable energy with its wind and sun next to them. Turkey must use its energy efficiently. There is a need for a Türkiye that uses its energy efficiently, especially in local governments. Türkiye is such a rich country in mineral diversity, at the same time “This is our whole effort, our whole goal, to add our minerals to our economy in a value-added way, not just as raw materials, but by converting them into boron carbide, by turning them into intermediate products or final products in a different way.”
‘WE ARE DOING AMBITIOUS WORK’
Emphasizing that it is the country with the 4th largest deep sea fleet in the world, Minister Bayraktar included the following statements in his speech:
“We are the country with the fourth largest deep sea fleet in the world. As Turkey, 5 of our ships operate in the Black Sea. In 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, we made the largest natural gas discovery in the history of the Republic. And now, the natural gas we produced there has been used by 4 million households. Hopefully, we will double this in 2026. In other words, the natural gas needs of 8 million homes will be met with our own gas. God willing, we will quadruple it in 2028. “16-17 million households will heat and cook with our own natural gas. We say that we are doing great work, we are doing ambitious work. Turkey is trying to provide energy support to our citizens intensively, especially after 2019-2020. As of today, in this world, both oil prices and natural gas prices have increased. Therefore, despite this, we continue to provide these supports within our means and capabilities in a way that will minimize the impact on our citizens, and we will continue to do so from now on.”

You will be able to log in to social media with your TR ID number.
The bill, which includes social media restrictions for people under the age of 15, was accepted by the Parliament’s Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee the other day. According to the information obtained, the age information of social media users will be verified with the “token” to be produced through the e-Government Gateway. The user will be given a verification document with an electronic signature. This document will show that the person meets the age criterion and can be verified by third parties. Only ‘age appropriate/inappropriate’ information will be transferred to social media platforms. With the system, age verification will be made without sharing identity information when logging into social media platforms.

NO SWITCHING TO FAKE ACCOUNTS
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, who participated in the TÜGVA Specialized Academy Launch Program, stated that the negotiations with social media platforms have been completed and that these sites will be logged in with identity verification in a short period of 3 months. Gürlek noted the following: “If a person opens an account on social media and commits a crime, there must be a response for this. They open a fake account, they tell the events differently. If a person insults or carries out a reputation assassination on social media, he must bear the consequences. Hopefully, we will flesh this out in the 12th Judicial Package. If a person enters social media, his identity will be known. We have very valuable judges here. They work devotedly day and night, but on social media, the man has made a judgment and does not judge.” ‘Why wasn’t this arrested?’ It is said. Social media will now be accessed with real information and personal identity. There will be a transition period to shut down these fake accounts. If they do not comply with these rules, they will close them. It is aimed for this to become law in a short time. There will be a transition period after it becomes law. Thanks to this regulation, everyone will have entered their real identity on social media.” Minister Gürlek also met with Rojin Kabaiş’s family, explained the latest situation about the file and listened to the family’s demands. –
