Scandals do not end in Bornova: Audit report crisis broke out
In the report prepared by the audit commission, which was elected among the municipal council members last January, as a result of its investigations for 2025, findings that would be considered ‘no more’ were reached. In the 43-item annotation report prepared by the AK Party members of the Audit Commission, it was seen that Bornova Deputy Mayor Cemal Hocaoğlu had a siren and strobe lights installed on his official vehicle, although it was prohibited. It was revealed that a fine of 103 thousand 629 liras was imposed on the official vehicle that was under police control and was allocated to the private secretary. It was learned that the strobe lights and siren were removed after the punishment.
THEY PAID RENT FOR 14 MONTHS IN VAIN
The findings made by the members of the Audit Commission were not limited to this. Bornova Municipality rented a place for 40 thousand liras per month to expand the cat clinic. Then, renovation work started in the building on July 24, 2025. Although the renovation was completed in a short time, the Eros Cat Clinic Annex Building was not put into service in the meantime. It was seen that Bornova Municipality paid 560 thousand lira in rent for the empty building in vain for 14 months.

THEY RENTED THE TRUCK GARAGE WITHOUT TENDER
Another detection took place in Işıkkent District. It was revealed that Bornova Municipality rented the common use area of its own truck park in Işıkkent to a business without going out to tender, in violation of the laws and regulations. In addition, the parking fees that were supposed to be collected from the vehicles by the municipality’s management and affiliates directorate were not collected. Thus, public harm was caused.

GREAT DISRESPECT TO ATA
Bornova Municipality Directorate of Technical Affairs made a tender through direct procurement method for the renovation of the Ata Memorial House in Belkahve. During the renovation work, which cost 1 million lira including VAT, insulation and screed were also installed on the roof. After the works were completed, the final acceptance process was carried out by the municipality with the contractor company on June 30, 2025. During the on-site inspection, it was seen that the roof of the Ata Memorial House was leaking even though the roof insulation and screed installation had been carried out.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER DETECTIONS?
*The Directorate of Press and Public Relations purchased materials worth 7 million 611 thousand lira on February 21, 2025. During the inspection, it was seen that there was no goods acceptance report. It was also determined that the purchase was made against savings measures.
*Although İZBB is within its area of responsibility, the district municipality carried out asphalt work on Ankara, Mustafa Kemal and Gençlik Avenues. During the examination, it was seen that no protocol regarding asphalting was signed with IzBB and no invoice was issued.
*The Red Crescent Girls’ Dormitory, which was closed on the grounds that it was not earthquake-proof, was renovated without any strengthening work. The electrical installation and air conditioning systems of the rotten building were overhauled, and plaster painting and roof insulation works were carried out. Renovation before reinforcement was confusing. In addition, it was noteworthy that the electricity bills for the building were high even though it was closed.
*It was determined that Mayor Ömer Eşki used the luxury vehicle with license plate 35 HU 1881, belonging to the municipal company İZBAŞ, as his official vehicle with an unofficial plate, although he did not have any allocation.
*It was observed that the rubble collected within the district borders was stored illegally at the construction site of the Directorate of Technical Affairs, in violation of environmental laws. The report stated that the practice was against the current legislation and was not in legal compliance.
CASHIER: “THEY WASTE CITIZENS’ MONEY”
Speaking to SABAH, Audit commission member Adem Kasacı from AK Party said; “I wish our first agenda at the council meeting had been the problems of the district and the audit commission report. Unfortunately, we had to talk about the boyfriend of the Mayor of Uşak, who is an ATM, and the money paid to him under the name of salary. Although the mayor wanted to dismiss this issue with an apology and ‘I will cover the public damage’, this incident deeply upset the people of Bornova. This situation damaged the institutional structure of the municipality. Our audit revealed how the scarce resources created by the taxes of the people of Bornova were wasted. “Our Bornova does not have a penny of money to waste. Citizens pay their taxes on time and expect services from the municipality in return. The audits have revealed that some of this money was paid as a salary to the lover of Buca Mayor Görkem Duman. Another noteworthy issue is that the municipal administration uses the scarce resources it has transparently and for the benefit of the public.”

Here is the bill for the 7.7 million VIP favor
Within the scope of the corruption investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against Uşak Municipality, it was revealed with the invoice and details that the VIP conversion of the Mercedes vehicle registered in the name of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was made from the Uşak Municipality’s safe. While the millions of bills covered by public resources brought the allegations about why Özkan Yalım was not expelled from CHP to the agenda again, a post was made on CHP’s social media account. In the post containing receipts for the purchase of the vehicle, it was claimed that the vehicle was not purchased by Yalım. However, it was determined that the chassis number in the shared document and the chassis number in the scandal were the same. Thus, CHP registered that the VIP transformation was covered by Uşak Municipality’s coffers.

According to the statement in the file, two separate invoices were issued by DizaynVIP company on behalf of Uşak Municipality Social Facilities for two separate Mercedes V300 vehicles, 898 thousand TL and 6 million 856 thousand TL, totaling 7 million 754 thousand TL. Then, these two invoices were combined into a single item and a single invoice was issued for a total of 7 million 754 thousand TL. During the investigations, it was clearly determined through the official system records that the luxury vehicle was registered in the name of Uşak Municipality, based on the chassis number of one of the vehicles converted into VIP. The determination that the other vehicle was registered in the name of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stood out as one of the most critical details in the file. The system gave a “no authorization” warning when inquiring about the second vehicle.

However, during the investigation carried out by the Financial Crimes Fighting Units, the hidden record was opened and it was confirmed that the vehicle was registered in the name of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. This finding brought the claim that “Özgür Özel’s vehicle was transformed into a VIP with the money from the Uşak Municipality’s safe” among the concrete findings that were directly included in the investigation documents. Özkan Yalım’s words, which were previously revealed to the public as “I bought the car under Özgür Özel”, came to the fore again with this development within the scope of the investigation. The resulting invoices and vehicle ownership determinations are considered as an element that supports the statements attributed to Yalım. On the other hand, allegations that Yalım said, “If you expel me, I will tell you what I know,” began to be voiced louder as the investigation deepened.

WHY IS THE PARTY QUIET?
Despite all the allegations against him, the fact that the CHP Headquarters did not initiate any expulsion process against Özkan Yalım raised question marks behind the scenes. “Why is the party silent in the face of these allegations?” While the question is being asked louder, prosecutor’s office sources state that new evidence is being examined in the file and the investigation may expand to include new names.
ALGICI GIVEN CHP’S CHASSIS NUMBER
After the scandal emerged, a post was made on CHP’s social media account. In the post containing the receipt, it was claimed that the vehicle was not purchased by Özkan Yalım. However, it was determined that the chassis number in the shared document and the chassis number in the scandal were the same. Thus, CHP registered that the VIP transformation was covered by Uşak Municipality’s coffers.

DMM denied the “Turkish-made system” claim in the shooting down of the US F-35
In the statement made on DMM’s NSosyal account, it was stated that some social media accounts and disinformation-oriented channels included posts stating that “Türkiye supplied advanced anti-aircraft and UAV missiles to Iran, and the allegedly shot down US F-15 warplane was shot down with a Turkish-made shoulder-launched anti-aircraft system.”

In the statement, it was emphasized that the posts in question were completely unfounded and did not reflect the truth, and the following was noted:
“Such unrealistic claims, whose origins can be guessed, are deliberate psychological warfare attacks and black propaganda attempts aimed at damaging Türkiye’s constructive role in regional crises and its efforts focused on peace and diplomacy. Turkey takes a stance based on maintaining peace and stability in all processes in the region. These perception operations, targeting our country’s globally appreciated diplomatic success, aim to mislead the international public. Such dirty information dissemination activities aimed at manipulating public opinion and targeting delicate balances in the region should not be respected. Official “It is of great importance to be careful against speculative statements other than sources.”
