Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş answered the questions of journalists after the Cabinet Meeting held at the Presidential Complex under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In response to the question of what regulations have been made to eliminate the non-standard practices and legislative differences that have recently been experienced in some nurseries and reflected on the public with the Nursery and Day Care Centers Regulation published in the Official Gazette, Göktaş emphasized that they have a very sensitive approach on this issue as the Ministry and said, “We care that our children between the ages of 0-6 grow up in loving and compassionate environments, feel safe and grow up as healthy individuals. We have taken another pioneering step in this context. The Nursery and Day Care Centers Regulation published in the Official Gazette. “With our Nursing Homes Regulation, we have implemented a common and holistic regulation for the first time in order to put an end to non-standard practices that risk the development and safety of our children. We are extremely determined to protect our children and put an end to the irregularity in this area.”

Emphasizing that with the new regulation, differences in authority, process and standards will be eliminated in all centers for children aged 0-6 opened by public institutions and municipalities, Göktaş said, “Thus, the nursery services offered by public institutions and municipalities will have a common legislative basis. We are creating common rules for all centers that operate and will operate by public institutions and organizations in our 81 provinces. In this way, we will ensure a complete unity of practice by determining the same standards across the country.”

Stating that within the scope of the prepared legislation, the opening, permit and activity processes of nurseries and day care centers have been clarified and their physical and institutional standards have been reshaped, Minister Göktaş also stated that all data regarding the organization and the children will be monitored through the central information system to be established, so that the system will be completely transparent and controllable.

Stating that with the regulation, local governments increased their capacity by providing a solid legal infrastructure for their service delivery processes, Göktaş noted that the supervision of the education programs implemented in the centers will be carried out by the Ministry of National Education (MEB). Göktaş stated that the regulation will not cover closed-circuit child care centers opened within the institutions for the children of public institutions and municipalities’ own staff.

Minister Göktaş underlined that nurseries and day care centers should not be viewed as just care centers and continued as follows:
“We consider these centers as strategic social policy tools that support the development of our children, strengthen family welfare, contribute to parents’ balance between work and family life, and support social development. This new regulation we have implemented is an extremely important step to strengthen our family-oriented policies and expand child care services.”
Emphasizing that there will be no compromise on the safety of children, Göktaş said, “As the Ministry, we are working to ensure that each of our children has access to safe, peaceful and qualified care. I hope the new regulation will be beneficial for our children and families.”

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, who complained about Türkiye to the foreign press, with harsh words. Çelik said the following in his message published on social media:

Özgür Özel’s talk of “social and political turmoil” is just delusion. Our nation continues its historical march in brotherhood, unity and peace. The only place where there is “turmoil” is the CHP due to the fights over the board.

Özgür Özel’s description of our President, elected by the will of our nation, as a threat to our NATO allies is a shame that he wrote on his own record. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made a statement to the press in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, where he went to hold official contacts. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek visited the martyrs’ cemeteries in Azerbaijan, where he came to make official contacts. Gürlek first laid a wreath at the mausoleum in Fahri Hıyaban, where the grave of the late President Haydar Aliyev is located. Evaluating that Özel’s adoption of a discourse aimed at discrediting Türkiye in the eyes of the international public is incompatible with the understanding of responsible politics in his article in the Financial Times, Yayman said, “I say it very clearly, Mr. Özgür Özel, ‘you are on the wrong side of history’. The way to power is not to obey globalist lobbies, but to win the hearts of Türkiye’s streets, squares and our beloved nation.” expressed his opinion.

Hüseyin Yayman stated that bringing Türkiye’s domestic political debates to the agenda of international actors through foreign media and making Türkiye controversial through “regional risk” and “danger” discourses will not contribute to the country’s reputation, on the contrary, it will harm it.

Emphasizing that it is unacceptable for FETO to continue its activities under the guise of educational and cultural activities, AK Party Çanakkale Deputy Ayhan Gider directly conveyed to his Romanian interlocutors the expectation that the activities of the organization-related structures should be terminated, the relevant institutions should be taken over by the Romanian state or transferred to the Turkish Maarif Foundation. Gider, who met with the Speaker of the Romanian House of Representatives Sorin-Mihai Grindeanu, the President of the Senate Mircea Abrudean and the Chairman of the Romania-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Adrian Solomon, during the meetings held in Bucharest, drew attention to the importance of the strong political, economic and strategic cooperation between Turkey and Romania for the region.

Emphasizing that it is unacceptable for FETO to continue its existence in Romania under the guise of educational and cultural activities, Gider stated that schools and structures affiliated with the organization continue to pose a serious security threat for Türkiye.

Stating that Türkiye’s expectations are very clear, AK Party Çanakkale Deputy Ayhan Gider conveyed the request to the Romanian authorities to end the activities of the structures in question and to take over the relevant institutions by the Romanian state or transfer them to the Turkish Maarif Foundation. Stating that the relations between the two countries are progressing with a strong momentum in every field, Gider said, “There is an exemplary basis for cooperation between Turkey and Romania. It is in our common interest to maintain the momentum we have achieved in the fields of trade, transportation, defense industry and regional security. During the meetings, Romanian officials emphasized the strategic importance of relations between Türkiye and Romania and demonstrated their will to continue the dialogue between the two countries.
