This is an unsustainable situation. It is a great conflict that is about to throw the whole region and the whole world into the fire pit. We wish this to end with all our heart and, as Turkey, we strive to establish peace.”

Speaking about the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the Eid prayer, Kurtulmuş said, “Also, of course, one of our biggest sorrows on this Eid morning is that the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been closed for the Eid prayer. This is the last point of oppression. This is an unacceptable situation. This is no longer tolerable for the Islamic world. And for us Muslims, who have a population of two billion, this shame is probably enough as the biggest shame. We are truly heartbroken.” “The fact that Muslims were turned away from the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque on such a day of peace and prosperity is the epitome of oppression. We strongly condemn Israel’s oppression. We call on the whole world to put an end to this insult and injustice against the members of a religion and the Muslim world, which has a large population. We hope that this Eid will be the last Eid that Al-Aqsa Mosque spends in an oppressed state.”

Kurtulmuş said, “From here, from Hagia Sophia, from Istanbul, from the shadow of this Topkapı Palace, the heart of the Ottoman World State, we convey our Eid congratulations and our love to our Palestinian brothers, who are oppressed in Jerusalem, Gaza, and everywhere in the West Bank. We express our feelings of solidarity with them on behalf of the 86 million citizens of the Republic of Turkey. I congratulate you on your holiday again. God Almighty.” He concluded his words by saying, “May you have many happy holidays in good health and may your nation lead to stronger, more peaceful days in peace and well-being, in brotherhood and unity.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan attended the meeting held the other day in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where the latest regional developments were discussed. In addition to Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan, Syria and Jordan were represented here. In the joint statement issued after the meeting, Iran’s attacks with ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Jordan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye were condemned. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Iran’s attacks on the Gulf countries. Attacks carried out by the USA and Israel were not the subject of the meeting.

ATTACKS DISTURBED

Attacks on Riyadh before the meeting started further disturbed the Gulf countries. Gulf countries are disturbed that Iran targets them and wants to use them as a means of blackmail against the USA. Türkiye has said on every platform and on every occasion that Israel is the main responsible for the crisis. In the joint text adopted, Israel’s aggression against Lebanon and its expansionist policies in the region were also condemned. Türkiye added this issue to the statement. It pointed out Israel’s expansionist policies as the real responsible for the war.

Foreign Minister Fidan was received yesterday by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani.
