CHP’s ‘transparency theatre’ collapsed in Antalya! AK Party member Ali Çetin: Instead of making speeches in Ankara, look at the real estate empire in Antalya!

Published

on

A poisonous response came from AK Party Antalya Provincial Chairman Ali Çetin to the perception operation launched by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel over the assets of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek. Çetin described it as political hypocrisy for Özgür Özel, who is a “monument of honesty” in Ankara, to “play dead” in the face of the corruption and title deed scandals “accumulating like a mountain” in his own municipality.

“DISCLOSE THE WEALTH OF THE DETENTED PRESIDENT, NOT THE DEED OF THE MINISTER!”

AK Party Antalya Provincial Chairman Ali Çetin stated that Özgür Özel was trying to change the agenda with unfounded allegations and invited the CHP leader to look at the dark relations in Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which is governed by his own party. Çetin made the following harsh statements in his statement:

“Instead of investigating Mr. Minister Gürlek’s title deeds with imaginary figures, reveal the hidden wealth of Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek and the people around him, who are currently behind bars within the scope of a bribery and corruption operation. Are the over 600 title deed claims that have been talked about in the public for days true? If you are honest, first present the source of these huge properties to the public so that we can see who is transparent and who is not!”

THE “RANT NETWORK” EXTENDING FROM LONDON TO SPAIN HAS BEEN REVEALED

Ali Çetin said that the CHP administration “swallowed its tongue” not only in the Muhittin Böcek incident, but also in the face of grave allegations against the highest-level bureaucrats of the municipality. Drawing attention to the properties documented to belong to Secretary General Cansel Çevikol Tuncer and his family, Çetin continued his criticism as follows:

While a real estate empire stretching from London to Spain belongs to the most authorized person in your municipality, you will not say a word, but you will give speeches about honesty in Ankara. What a diet, what a sauerkraut! Özgür Özel’s so-called ‘holding to account’ discourse has fallen into this huge profit network in Antalya. He asked his own bureaucrat, ‘Where did these title deeds come from?’ What vision of justice can a Chairman who cannot ask, promise Türkiye?

“WHAT ARE SO MANY DEEDS LOOKING FOR IN FAMILIES WITHOUT COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES?”

Provincial Chairman Çetin, reminding that the scandal was not limited to the general secretary only and that similar allegations came to light about Böcek’s deputy Büşra Özdemir Dirgen and her family, criticized the CHP’s “shield of protection” with the following words:

Dozens of title deeds registered to family members who do not have any commercial activities stand in the middle of the city. For what ‘service’ were these properties acquired? Özgür Özel is trying to gain political space in Ankara while creating a protection shield for the rich people right under his nose. The ‘immunity armor’ that the CHP wears against these huge allegations of corruption and wealth within itself does not go unnoticed by the public.

“RESPECT THE JUDICIAL DECISION, DO NOT SPECULATE”

Emphasizing the seriousness of the bribery operation carried out on July 5, 2025, Ali Çetin stated that the judicial process should be followed meticulously and completed his statement with the following warning:

Everyone must respect the judicial decision. Political maneuvers carried out before the process is completed are just an effort to mislead the public. However, the people of Antalya see very well who is silent, who is covering up what, and who is building a profit-making empire. CHP management can no longer escape these facts.

Case against dismissed prosecutor for bribery – Last Minute News

Published

on

An indictment was prepared against former Public Prosecutor Cengiz Çallı, who was dismissed while working at Istanbul Bakırköy Courthouse, on the grounds that he accepted bribes and violated confidentiality in the investigations he conducted. Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office requested a prison sentence of 6 years 10 months to 22 years 6 months for Çallı. In the indictment, it was stated that Çallı was in close contact with Atalay Demirbaş, a businessman known for his macaron smuggling case. According to the camera records, it was determined that Demirbaş entered the prosecutor’s office easily and the documents in the files that had a restriction order were shared with him.

EVICTION NEGOTIATION

According to the details in the investigation file, the process worked as follows: An agreement was reached for the release of detained suspect ZY for 300 thousand dollars. In the first stage, 50 thousand dollars (412 thousand TL) was deposited into Demirbaş’s account. After the money was deposited, Prosecutor Çallı directed Demirbaş as to which authority the release petitions would be submitted to and gave an opinion that the suspects should be released under house arrest. In the indictment, it was emphasized that there was correspondence stating that 75 thousand dollars was ready in July 2021, and that the base records confirmed the witness statements that Çallı personally received this money. One of the most striking evidence in the indictment was the message Demirbaş sent to the prosecutor after a request was rejected: “They already paid less than the first job, they will pay a little more.” It was stated that this message was clear evidence of the payments made for the evacuation process. It was also noted that Prosecutor Çallı tried to obtain financial benefits in exchange for a decision of non-prosecution against some suspects and the return of the seized money, and that he violated the confidentiality of the investigation by sharing the file information.
