The Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly emphasized that the report was accepted by “qualified majority” after the vote. For the next process, it was stated that “The responsibility of the General Assembly is to bring this experience to the legislative agenda without delay, together with the expectations of our nation and the sensitivities of the public conscience.”

EMPHASIS ON THE NEW CONSTITUTION
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, gave the following messages in his speech at the meeting:
NO AMNESTY: While the report outlines the approach that stays away from topics that will create a perception of amnesty, focuses on the principle of certainty of the legal order and takes into account the sensitivity of the public conscience, it points out that when the democratic will that protects the state mind and the nation’s conscience takes action in the same integrity, it establishes a permanent basis for social peace. The Commission has prepared a report on its will to end terrorist acts and the climate of violence that harm social peace and tranquility.
THE COINSTONE OF THE STEPS: Our commission report is not an end; On the contrary, it is the cornerstone of the steps to be taken.
NEW CONSTITUTION: Although the issue of preparing a new constitution is not within the scope of duty of our commission, it stands before us as a common duty and responsibility for our country that must be fulfilled without delay.
A HISTORICAL PERIOD: Today, we are going through a historical period regarding the issue of terrorism. In this process, our Gazi Parliament, which is the manifestation of the national will, has undertaken its duty without hesitation. The Turkish Grand National Assembly is the legitimate solution address for every issue.
MARTYRS AND VETERANS: In this process, we once again remembered the trust of our beloved martyrs who died for the well-being of our common homeland and the dignified stance of our distinguished veterans with their sacrifices. I remember each of them with gratitude.

The child was replaced by a dog – Breaking News
Four family-focused sessions were held at the Human Rights and Family Summit organized the previous day by the AK Party Human Rights Presidency. While attention was drawn to the decline in the fertility rate at the summit, it was emphasized that the family should be protected against digitalization and gender neutralization projects that are claimed to be carried out on a global scale. Speaking at the summit held at the AK Party Headquarters, Grand National Assembly of Turkey Justice Commission Chairman Cüneyt Yüksel described “de-gendering projects and LGBT impositions as dynamite thrown into the future of the Turkish nation.”
WE WILL PROTECT THE FAMILY WITH THE CONSTITUTION
Yüksel said, “We have to strengthen our legal fortifications on a wide range of issues, from anti-family disinformation in digital media to these harmful trends targeting our children.” Speaking after Yüksel, who touched upon the importance of designing anti-drug policies and measures against children dragged into crime with a family-centered approach, AK Party Deputy Chairman Belgin Uygur said, “We will protect the family institution against perverted trends with a civil, participatory constitution in the new era.

Our goal, our work and our efforts are in this direction. “We will put this issue at the center of our politics and policies,” he said. AK Party Hatay Deputy Abdulkadir Özel criticized the daytime programs and said, “There is a need for a more interventionist legal regulation that protects against harmful trends that especially target our children and youth.” Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services Sevim Sayım Madak said, “Last year, there were nearly 800 gender changes. Most of them turned from women to men. But when you reach the age of 25, you regret it,” he said. AK Party Bursa Deputy Osman Mesten stated that there is a change in the traditional family model and said, “Instead of having children, people buy cats and dogs. They are dressed in children’s clothes, taken for a ride in baby carriages, and bought toys. Mesten also argued that NGOs that appear to be human rights foundations but openly make LGBT propaganda should be closed. Mesten said, “It should be determined where institutions working under the name of animal rights and women’s rights receive support. Broadcasts to be broadcast on TV must be pre-inspected. What is not approved should not be published. “The penalty imposed after publication has no effect.” KADEM Board Member Sedide Akbulut emphasized justice within the family. Akbulut said, “Our religion does not recommend a hierarchical structure in the family. “It is necessary to share the responsibility fairly,” he said. Stating that the responsibility in divorces is often placed on women, Akbulut said, “However, the lack of responsibilities of the father is also one of the reasons. Policies that will strengthen the family are needed. “But with social policies that strengthen the family, we not only need to improve women’s employment, but also for men to share responsibility for the family and support their education,” he said.

İmamoğlu’s espionage trial starts on May 11
An investigation was launched against CHP member Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested on March 23, 2025, as part of the corruption investigation, for espionage. In the digital materials examined by Hüseyin Gün, who was arrested for espionage, an arrest warrant was issued for Ekrem İmamoğlu, Necati Özkan and TELE1 founder Merdan Yanardağ for cooperating in the 2019 local election campaign and leaking confidential information about voters. With the indictment prepared within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, imprisonment of İmamoğlu, Hüseyin Gün, Necati Özkan and Merdan Yanardağ was requested from 15 to 20 years each. The prepared indictment was accepted by the Istanbul 25th High Criminal Court. The court ruled that the first hearing of the case would be held in Silivri on May 11.

INSTRUCTION FROM İMAMOĞLU
In the accepted indictment, it was stated that İmamoğlu aimed to gain political benefit by transferring citizens’ personal information to foreign intelligence service members. It was included in the indictment that the data in question was provided by Necati Özkan and that Gün transferred Özkan’s many e-mail addresses and passwords belonging to the municipality, especially “ibb.gov.tr”, to the underground digital environment of the internet world called “Ostin”, under the instructions of İmamoğlu.
Aaron Barr
In the indictment, it was stated that foreign intelligence service personnel Aaron Barr, Necati Özkan and Hüseyin Gün stepped in to remove the IMM 2019 data copying process from the agenda. It was determined that the suspects, acting together, created a perception and worked to remove the copying issue from the agenda. It was pointed out that the data copying took place with İmamoğlu’s permission letter, and in his effective statement of regret, Gün obtained the citizen’s information in exchange for İmamoğlu’s election campaign.
Merdan Yanardag
HIS MAIN PURPOSE WAS SOMETHING ELSE
The indictment stated, “In light of all the information, documents and explanations, it has been understood that the crime of ‘political espionage’ was aimed at having a say in Turkish politics, especially in Istanbul, by ensuring that the suspect Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was supported by manipulating the 2019 local elections, won the election, and activities were carried out in this direction.”
