Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy met with his fellow citizens at the iftar table
In the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan, Antalya’s İbradı district witnessed a meaningful meeting. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy came together with his fellow citizens at the iftar table in his father’s house, İbradı.
Before the annual iftar program hosted by Minister Ersoy, inspections were made at İbradı Culture and Congress Center. After the investigations, Ersoy met with the headmen in the district and held an evaluation meeting. At the end of the day, the citizens broke the fast at the same table at the İbradı Wedding Hall.

In the iftar program attended by Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, AK Party Antalya Deputy Tuğba Vural Çokal, MHP Antalya Deputy Abdurrahman President, AK Party MKYK Member Menderes Türel, AK Party Antalya Provincial Chairman Ali Çetin and İbradı Mayor Hatice Sekmen, the spirit of unity and solidarity of Ramadan was emphasized and important messages were given regarding the tourism, culture and development vision of the region.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, in his speech at the iftar, emphasized that it is not a coincidence that Ormana was chosen as the ‘World’s Best Tourism Village’.

NEW VISION IN TOURISM! ORMANA SET AN EXAMPLE TO THE WORLD
Minister Ersoy also drew attention to the changing understanding in world tourism and emphasized the importance of projects focused on sustainable tourism and local development.
Ersoy made the following evaluations:
“Today, world tourism is being shaped with a new understanding. Nowadays, not only the number of visitors but also the protection of cultural heritage, support of local development and sustainability are discussed. We are determinedly implementing projects that extend tourism to 12 months, take into consideration natural and cultural values, and prioritize qualified tourism. One of the best examples of this vision is İbradı and Ormana. The selection of Ormana as the ‘World’s Best Tourism Village’ is a concrete and proud result of this approach.”
Referring to the “World’s Best Tourism Villages Program” launched by the UN World Tourism Organization in 2021, Ersoy said, “The preparation process for Ormana, which started in 2021, has been strengthened with the improvements made over the years.” he said.
Ersoy noted that, as a result of the evaluation of the file prepared under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), by the international jury, Ormana was deemed worthy of this title as the only village selected from Türkiye in 2024, and said that this success is not a coincidence; He emphasized that it is the common result of planned investment, cooperation and everyone who works hard.

“OUR GREATEST WISH FOR OUR GEOGRAPHY TO BE STABLE”
Minister Ersoy pointed out the climate of brotherhood and solidarity of Ramadan and expressed his satisfaction in meeting his fellow citizens at the same table.
Wishing that the war raging in the region would end as soon as possible, Ersoy used the following expressions in his speech:
“I am very happy to share the same table with you in İbradı with the feelings of unity and solidarity. Ramadan is a holy month where sharing turns into abundance, solidarity is strengthened, and brotherhood is strengthened. This holy month is also the time to purify our hearts and leave resentments behind. This iftar table set here today is not just a meal; it is the best indicator of our unity and solidarity. With this iftar, the holy month of Ramadan “We have completed the 16th iftar, so we have left the half of Ramadan behind. May God allow us to celebrate the holiday in health and peace with our families and loved ones. May this holy month be a means of hope and prayer not only for us but also for the oppressed and victimized regions around the world. Our greatest wish is for the war in our region to end as soon as possible and for this region to achieve peace and stability.”

Türkiye IS THE CENTER OF TRUST AND STABILITY
Minister Ersoy, who also included Türkiye’s regional role in his speech, emphasized that Türkiye is on its way to becoming the center of stability under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Stating that Türkiye is taking determined steps in every field under the strong leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ersoy said, “Turkey is taking firm steps towards becoming a center of stability and trust, having a say in the region and in the world. Fortunately, despite all the tensions and wars in the region, our country maintains its quality of being a reliable port.” he said.
Stating that they are following the process closely as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ersoy noted that they meticulously evaluate every development concerning the tourism sector, both its pros and cons.
Stating that they are in constant contact with relevant institutions and sector representatives to take all necessary measures in a timely manner, Ersoy continued as follows:
“In short, we are at the beginning. We continue to take every necessary step with determination to protect our country’s identity as a safe tourism destination and to maintain the strong momentum we have achieved in tourism.”

NEW GENERATION LIBRARY AND CULTURE INVESTMENTS IN İBRADI
In his speech, Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy also touched upon the cultural and education investments implemented in İbradı and explained the projects carried out in the district.
Ersoy continued his speech as follows:
“When we say ‘regional development’, we consider it together with culture, education, youth and social life. The steps we have taken in İbradı are concrete examples of this. For example, we opened our İbradı District Public Library in 2024. We have transformed the library services, which were previously provided with limited resources, into a structure compatible with the innovative librarianship approach. This work, which has a closed area of approximately 2 thousand square meters, has special sections for babies, children and young people, playgrounds, event halls, workshops and “It has brought a new generation of culture and learning space to our district with its IT fields and serves our citizens of all ages with its collection of more than 30 thousand libraries.”

30 MILLION PROJECT FOR ALTINBEŞİK CAVE
Minister Ersoy also shared with the public the security and infrastructure works initiated for Altınbeşik Cave, one of the important natural heritage of İbradı.
Ersoy gave the following information:
“We are also taking a very important step for Altınbeşik Cave, which is one of the most important natural heritages of İbradı. Altınbeşik, known as Türkiye’s largest and Europe’s third largest underground lake cave, is the apple of our nature tourism with its unique geological structure. However, the most important issue in such areas is visitor safety. There may be a risk of falling stones and rocks from time to time on the route that provides access to the cave. For this reason, structural steel protection is required on the approximately 200-meter walking path extending to the cave entrance. “We started a project that will increase security with the system.”
Stating that they started working on this project on February 2, 2026, Ersoy said that the Ministry contributed 20 million lira to the financing of this investment of approximately 30 million lira.
Ersoy said, “Our goal is to bring Altınbeşik to tourism in a sustainable manner with safe access and to transfer this unique heritage to future generations in a healthy way.” he said.

HISTORICAL TEXTURE IS PROTECTED IN ORMANA
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that the street rehabilitation works carried out in Ormana District are continuing in stages.
Minister Ersoy continued his speech as follows:
“One of the most important elements that keep Ormana’s identity alive is the historical street texture and traditional residential architecture. For this reason, we are continuing the street improvement works step by step. We took action to repair the buildings in Ormana District in accordance with their original form. In the 1st stage of the ‘Street Improvement’ project, the maintenance and repair of 37 buildings and in the 2nd stage, 48 buildings were completed. Within the scope of the 3rd stage, the maintenance and repair of 50 buildings were completed this year. “We will continue to keep the cultural heritage alive with these works that increase the quality of life while preserving Ormana’s unique identity.”

ORMANA CULTURAL CENTER WILL OPEN IN JULY
Minister Ersoy also touched upon the Ormana Cultural Center, which he inspected before the iftar, and announced that the center will be put into service this year.
Culture is not just a memory of the past; Adding that they see it as an area that strengthens the social life of today and tomorrow, Ersoy said that with this understanding, the construction of our Ormana Cultural Center continues, that he examined the works carried out in the cultural center before the iftar, and that they will open the cultural center, which includes a foyer, library and cafeteria, as well as a multi-purpose hall for approximately 500 people, in July this year.
Ersoy gave the good news that Ormana will thus have a strong social infrastructure where cultural and artistic events can be organized.
PERSONAL SUPPORT TO YOUTH FROM MINISTER ERSOY: YOUTH CENTER FOR FATHER’S HEART IBRADI
“I would like to make a separate note for our youth and share with you a project that I have undertaken with my personal means.” Ersoy said:
“We are implementing the İbradı Youth Center project for our young people in İbradı. When the project is completed, we will have provided İbradı with a modern center that offers a wide range of facilities, from a conference hall to multi-purpose classrooms, from a computer room to a book café, from workshops to sports areas. We will then transfer this center, which we plan to put into service at the beginning of the summer, to our Ministry of Youth and Sports and put it at the service of our youth and fellow citizens of Ibradı.”
Minister Ersoy said that with this step, they have established together the infrastructure of an understanding that protects culture, supports youth, brings natural heritage to tourism safely and strengthens local development.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO WALK TO OUR GOALS WITH DETERMINATION”
Emphasizing the spirit of unity and solidarity of Ramadan, Ersoy completed his speech as follows.
“Ramadan is a climate that reminds us of solidarity, sharing and unity of heart. Hopefully, with this spirit of unity, we will continue to produce services for our İbradı, for our Antalya and for our country, to invest, and to walk determinedly towards our goals in culture and tourism.”
