President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the iftar program with members of parliament at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Stating that they are careful not to harm even a single hair of the 86 million people while missiles are flying in the air in our region, and that they will continue to be astute in the face of injustice, President Erdoğan said, “As Turkey, we are on the side of peace.”

“OUR WORLD IS DRAWING TOWARDS A CHAOTIC PERIOD”

Emphasizing that not only the region and geography but also the world as a whole is going through critical periods, Erdoğan underlined that we are all experiencing an axis shift at the global level, where international institutions and organizations become ineffective, the balance of power gradually deteriorates, international agreements turn into a patchwork, international law is largely shelved, and the traditional understanding of diplomacy is abandoned.

President Erdoğan stated that the world system established after World War II was crumbling and shaking from its foundations, that the world was getting hot enough to ignite at the smallest spark, and that global injustice was becoming deeper and more chronic, and that while the old order was collapsing, it was not yet known exactly what would be replaced.

“Our world is rapidly drifting towards a chaotic period where brute force and the law of the strong prevail.” Using the statement, Erdoğan pointed out the process that started with attacks on neighboring Iran.

Erdoğan said, “On this occasion, we are witnessing these once again. Principles such as multilateralism, sovereign equality, and resolution of disputes through diplomacy, symbolized by the United Nations system, have been turned into idols that are eaten when hungry by the founders of this system. Those who have been talking to us about law, human rights and freedoms for years, themselves ignore these values ​​today and see no harm in violating them.” made his assessment.

“WE ARE ON THE SIDE OF EASTING THE TEARS OF THE OPENED AND PREVENTING OPPRESSION”

President Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye’s attitude is clear in such a sensitive conjuncture where uncertainty, tension, conflict and lawlessness have become the norm, and continued as follows:

“We are never neutral on issues that concern our region and humanity. We are not neutral on incidents that disturb the peace of our brothers and neighbors. We are not neutral on issues that threaten the future of the whole world. On the contrary, as Turkey, we are on the side of peace, tranquility and stability, solidarity and cooperation, universal values, justice and development, solving problems through dialogue and diplomacy, negotiation instead of conflict, peace instead of war. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek attended the iftar program organized by Istanbul Bar Association No. 2. Speaking in the program, Minister Gürlek announced new good news for lawyers. We abolished the secondary education in law faculties. We abolished the vertical transfer system. The order of success for admission to faculties is prioritized first.” “We ensured that the faculty of law has a qualified and quantitative level by increasing the number to 125 thousand, and then to 100 thousand. We made the necessary legal arrangements for the decisions of the regional court of justice in crimes arising from the duties of lawyers to go to the Supreme Court in any case. We have provided mediation opportunity to lawyers with 20 years of seniority.
