AK Party Ankara Provincial Organization completed Ramadan this year with an intensive field work. According to the data shared by the provincial directorate, approximately 518 thousand people were directly reached through activities carried out throughout Ankara. During Ramadan, the teams went out to the field in three separate groups in a different district every day and made household visits with a team of approximately 50 people. In the “Ankara from Heart to Heart” program, which was carried out simultaneously in 9 metropolitan districts with the participation of the provincial administration and district organizations, the demands of the citizens were listened to and bridges of love were built through one-to-one contacts.

DOOR TO DOOR ANKARA: NEARLY 160 THOUSAND HOUSEHOLDS WERE VISITED

The main field team of 2,172 people, consisting of Main Level, Women’s Branches, Youth Branches and commission members, was behind this huge operation carried out in districts all over Ankara. In addition, 1,772 neighborhood heads actively took part in neighborhood-level studies and ensured local coordination.

More than a thousand iftar programs were organized to strengthen social solidarity. While a total of 1,079 iftar programs were held; Thousands of people from the capital attended the special thematic iftars organized for orphans, relatives of martyrs, disabled people and teachers. Additionally, sahur blessings were shared with 2,032 people through sahur programs.

AK Party Youth Branches, on the other hand, offered treats to citizens, especially those accompanying them in hospitals, to employees on duty, and to those who could not make it to sahur, with their “5 Before Iftar” and “5 Before Sahur” programs. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s greetings were conveyed to the citizens during door-to-door visits in 25 districts of Ankara.

DIRECT REACH TO 518 THOUSAND PEOPLE

Within the scope of social policy activities during Ramadan:

• Approximately 518 thousand people were reached by visiting 160 thousand households

• Approximately 22 thousand people came together in 1079 separate iftar programs

• 2 thousand people were reached in 10 sahur programs

• Nearly 10 thousand hot meals were distributed

Within the scope of social aid, 70 thousand food parcels and 83 thousand 10 need checks were delivered to those in need. Cash support was provided to 6 thousand households.

PRIORITY WAS GIVEN TO RELATIVES OF MARTYRS, DISABLED PEOPLE AND ORPHANS

Disadvantaged groups and families of martyrs were at the top of the organization’s Ramadan agenda. In this context:

• 6,086 elderly visits,

• 3,447 visits to disabled people,

• 2,815 orphans and orphaned children were visited.

• 1,351 relatives of martyrs and veterans were visited in their homes and the message that the state and the organization was with them was given.

With this comprehensive picture, the AK Party Ankara Provincial Organization has proven once again that it not only provides aid during Ramadan, but also strengthens the bridges of social solidarity in every neighborhood of the capital.

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY HAS BEEN STRENGTHENED

As part of its overseas activities, an example of international solidarity was demonstrated by reaching approximately 1,800 people at iftar tables set up in Gonder, Ethiopia.

THE JOY OF EID HAS NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN

At the end of Ramadan, holiday support was provided to 3 thousand 752 people so that children and those in need could welcome the holiday with a smiling face. In addition to social assistance, 689 medical supports were provided to citizens experiencing health problems.

The funeral of the martyr, who was brought to Süleyman Demirel Airport by military plane, was welcomed with a ceremony. After the martyr’s body was taken off the plane, his mother Sezen Taştekin, his father Ali Taştekin and his wife Nergis Taştekin burst into tears.

‘I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR MY SON’

Martyr Sinan Taştekin’s body was placed in the funeral transport vehicle belonging to Isparta Municipality. Meanwhile, the female commander on duty asked mother Sezen Taştekin, “Can you walk?” he asked. Taştekin said, “I will walk, I will do anything for my son.” The martyr’s body was taken to Isparta City Hospital and put in the morgue.

The funeral of Air Defense Major Sinan Taştekin will be sent to his final journey at the Isparta Garrison Martyrs’ Cemetery after the prayer to be performed in the 15 July Republic and Democracy Square in the afternoon today.
