New confessions from Soytekin, İmamoğlu’s safe: He received millions of liras in bribes from contractors

Published

on

Arrested defendant Adem Soytekin, who is alleged to be the “safeguard” of former Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested for “establishing a criminal organization and corruption”, appeared before the judge with a request to benefit from effective remorse provisions. At the hearing held at the Istanbul 40th High Criminal Court, Soytekin said that he wanted to make new confessions. Soytekin, who stated that he had testified 8 times before and was on the side of the state, claimed that the costs of public works such as schools, nurseries, mosques and bridges built by him between 2014 and 2024 were not paid through normal means. Soytekin said, “The contractors directed by the municipality made the payments through flats, shops or long-term cheques. It is obvious that these payments actually had something to do with the municipality.” Soytekin stated that one of the defendants, Metin Gül, personally told him that he paid the price to get a residence permit and said, “There is no flat that I received from Metin Gül as a bribe, the flats in question are in exchange for work. “I also have a commercial relationship,” he said, and stated that he was of the opinion that the 3 million lira (or part of it) paid by Gül for the settlement was delivered to Fatih Keleş, who is known for his closeness to İmamoğlu. Soytekin claimed that when Ekrem İmamoğlu was not yet the mayor (2013), he asked for 30 million lira from the contractors within the scope of the Westside project and the parties agreed on this figure. In addition, Soytekin claimed that the total price of the flats and shops given to him was He argued that it did not exceed 5 million lira with the money of that period and that the remaining money was transferred to the system through Muzaffer Beyaz. He also stated that the processes related to Hasan İmamoğlu were carried out through Beyaz İnşaat and said, “The land owner, Kemal Şahin, was asked to have the Cevat Güleç School built for the construction permit. “I did the construction with the system’s bribe money,” he said.

‘THE GREAT CORRUPTION HAS BEEN COMMITTED IN THE VIRA ISTANBUL PROJECT’

Drawing attention to Beylikdüzü’s largest public partnership project, “Vira Istanbul”, which was not included in the indictment but claimed that there was major corruption, Soytekin said, “When the project was put out to tender, the contractors of the region and Güller and Beyaz, who are also relatives, made an agreement among themselves in a coordinated manner. The tender process was made in collusion between these two groups. Upon examination, it will be clearly understood that this tender is fraudulent.” It was decided to continue the detention of the defendant Adem Soytekin, who said that he would present interesting names to the court if he was released, on the grounds that the suspicion of escape was solidified.

MURAT ONGUN’S Vault EMRAH BAĞDATLI

In his defense, Soytekin said, “Emrah Bağdatlı came to me during the acquisition of Olay TV and conveyed this issue. Emrah Bağdatlı is both Murat Ongun’s partner and carries all of Ongun’s assets. In other words, he acts as a safe. When I rejected this offer, they had Hüseyin Köksal buy the channel.”

There is a Türkiye that charts its own route and expands its own horizons. Türkiye is a groundbreaking country in many areas, from the defense industry to domestic and national technology, from the healthcare system to the security infrastructure. Today, under the leadership of our President, we are moving forward with the goals of the Türkiye Century, which is the strong vision of our second century. “From now on, we need to spend all our energy on growth, development, improving our unity and solidarity, and further strengthening our brotherhood,” he said.

By acting with an understanding based on prevention, we will make it a basic principle to take precautions before crimes occur. The rapid development of technology will cause crime to spread faster in the digital area. We are also expanding our field of struggle. We are increasing our cyber security capacity with domestic and national software systems, especially artificial intelligence, and establishing a strong security shield against digital threats. We are working hard to reduce the risks of the virtual world, which sometimes operates like a parallel world, and to dismantle addiction and criminal networks. With God’s help, we will never allow our youth to be poisoned or encouraged to commit crimes by strengthening the correct use of technology. “Under the leadership of our President, this blessed homeland will become more peaceful and safer every day,” he said.

Detention of A Haber team in Israel! Emine Kavasoğlu told: When we learned that we were Turks...

ISRAEL WANTS TO HIDE THE TRUTH

Stating that Israel is trying to hide the developments in the region from the world public opinion, Kavasoğlu said, “According to a circular published by Israel, it is forbidden to take aerial images of Iranian missiles and defense systems, as well as to broadcast their siren sounds. If the authorities give permission, shooting is allowed only days after the crime scenes are collected and made suitable for viewing.” he said.

A Haber team, which was released without any explanation after being held for about three hours, continues to report the developments in the region.

THANKS FROM AK PARTY SPOKESPERSON ÇELİK TO A NEWS TEAM

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik reacted harshly to Israel’s attitude that disregards press freedom.

Çelik stated that it was not a coincidence that the A News team was targeted and said:

“Israeli police’s unlawful detention of the A Haber team is a new phase of their effort to obscure the facts. We thank the A Haber family, Emine Kavasoğlu and Niyazi Kurt for their efforts to announce the facts.”

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS DURAN: ISRAEL MUST STOP THIS UNLAWFULNESS

Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran said:

A Haber strongly condemns the detention of Programs Manager Emine Kavasoğlu and her team in Israel; I send my best wishes for getting well soon. It is never acceptable for journalists to be targeted and deprived of their freedom while performing their profession. The security of members of the press and the public’s right to access accurate and impartial information are fundamental rights guaranteed by universal legal norms. Israel must immediately put an end to these unlawful practices that clearly violate freedom of the press. We will always continue to oppose such initiatives targeting journalists.
