President Erdoğan: Today is the pride day of the Turkish Navy
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the Commissioning of Naval Platforms, Flag Hoisting and First Sheet Cutting Ceremony at the Istanbul Shipyard Command.
THEY ARE ADDED TO OUR INVENTORY
Hızırreis Submarine, Ç-159 Landing Ship and ULAQ Unmanned Marine Vehicle were put into service. Military ships built for Pakistan and Romania were delivered. The flag was hoisted at TCG Koçhisar.
Highlights from President Erdoğan’s speech;
Dear members of our Naval Forces Command, valuable members of the Pakistan delegation, valuable representatives of our defense sector, my very valuable brothers, I greet you with my most heartfelt feelings, respect and affection.
Today, on the occasion of a very special program, we are together with you in the world’s favorite city, Istanbul, at our Istanbul Shipyard Command. I am pleased to be with you on the occasion of the commissioning of our platforms, the flag raising and the first sheet metal cutting ceremony.
To our esteemed guests who honored our ceremony from Pakistan, I would like to welcome them to their second home, Türkiye, and bring joy to them.

“MAY GOD BLESS EVERYONE WHO WORKS FOR THE DEFENSE OF THE COUNTRY”
I would like to thank all our personnel who serve with great dedication all over the Blue Homeland, and all members of our Naval Forces Command. May God bless everyone who works for Türkiye and unites day and night to protect and, when necessary, defend the Blue Homeland. Again, on this occasion, I commemorate our martyrs who fell to the ground so that the Nazlı Hilal could float freely for centuries, and I express my gratitude to our veterans.
“WE SEE HOW RIGHT WE WERE TO TRUST OUR SHIPYARDS”
Yes, today we are all witnessing a moment of pride, a moment of great pride, for the Turkish shipyard and navy. First of all, I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate all the members of our Istanbul Shipyard Command, from workers to engineers, who made us feel this pride, and I would like to thank them on behalf of myself and my nation.
Today, we see once again how right we are to trust our shipyards. As you know, we signed four MİLGEM construction contracts in September 2018 to meet the needs of the Pakistan Navy.

“Türkiye-PAKISTAN FRIENDSHIP WILL GROW AND STRENGTHEN”
We delivered the first ship, PNS Babür, to Pakistan on May 24, 2024. Today, we are delivering PNS Hayber, which has successfully completed all kinds of testing and experience activities. The third and fourth ships of the project are being built at Karachi Shipyard. I hope that these ships, equipped with the latest technology, will bring good luck and auspiciousness to our brother Pakistan Navy. The Türkiye-Pakistan friendship, which has its roots in the depths of our common history and has been tested for centuries, will continue, flourish and strengthen until the end of time, with God’s permission.
Dear guests, the platforms on which we sailed and raised our flag here today are the work of our sweat, mind, effort, courage and dedication. Chief among these is our TCG Hızır Reis submarine, which will be the national guardian of the silent depths with its air-independent propulsion system and advanced state-of-the-art capabilities.

“WE HAVE A 90 PERCENT LOCALITY RATE”
Another platform we have put into service is our New Type Landing Ship Ç-159. This platform will operate in stormy waters in both military operations and peacetime humanitarian aid operations.
Our ULAQ armed unmanned marine vehicle is another source of pride. ULAQ, which will be the symbol of digital transformation and artificial intelligence-based autonomous systems at sea, is one of the measures of the operational field of the future.
Another feature of ULAQ SİDA is that it uses a marine engine developed by Turkish engineers with a 90 percent local production rate. I hope that all three sea platforms will be beneficial.
Our TCG Koçhisar patrol ship is the sign of our will to protect our rights and laws in the Blue Homeland. It will serve our nation in peacetime, and will have a deterrent power in times of crisis. We will add Koçhisar to our Navy at the end of May.
Finally, today we will also cut the hair of our offshore patrol ship, Seferihisar. I wish you good luck in advance.

“WE ARE THE 11TH LARGEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN DEFENSE EXPORTS”
Dear brothers and sisters, as Türkiye, we not only develop products in every project we carry out in the field of defense industry; We also aim to expand the ecosystem, human resources and technology production capacity.
We implement the decisions we made in the Defense Industry Executive Committee, one by one, under the coordination of our relevant institutions with the understanding of “nation first, state first”.
It is a fact that success in defense can only be achieved with a holistic strategy. You cannot be a deterrent at sea without being strong in the air, and you cannot be a deterrent on land without being effective at sea.
Thank God, we have a very strong presence in all these areas. We increase our capacity day by day, constantly improve our possibilities and capabilities, and produce our own technology.
More than three thousand five hundred companies and more than one hundred thousand human resources in the defense sector dedicate everything they have to Türkiye’s safe future.
We manage all processes, from research and development studies to design, from software to mass production, with our local and national resources.
We are currently among the 11 largest countries in the world in defense exports. In the last 11 months, our defense and aerospace exports increased by 30 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 7 billion 445 million dollars.

Harsh words from Keçiören Mayor Özarslan to Özgür Özel! “I will file a criminal complaint”
“CHP IS BEING AWAY FROM ITS CORE VALUES”
Drawing attention to the founding identity of the Republican People’s Party, Özarslan said, “This is Atatürk’s party, the founding element of the Republic. However, they are trying to distance it from its core values. It is unacceptable to protest the country in foreign countries. This is one of the biggest mistakes made.” Özarslan also touched upon MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s approach to the Kurdish issue and criticized CHP’s attitude on this issue. Özarslan said, “It is not understandable to avoid the table on an issue based on brotherhood, which is put forward for the future of the country. In my opinion, this is among the wrong policies.”
“ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SHOULD NOT DECEIVE CHP members”
Social media is collapsing, I said this too shall pass. I was a CHP mayor, the first message came at 23.59, messages came one after another. Unreasonable expressions, unspeakable insults, I have never seen such messages. The leader of a party founded by Atatürk could never be this light-hearted. I am calling out from here, Özgür Özel, with what right do you have the right to put out these messages with dirty accusations of cataracting my mother and my late father, you have neither humanity, morality, manliness, nor CHP membership. If you have honor and integrity, you would resign from the head of the party. Let him come out and deny it, the one who doesn’t prove it is dishonorable. I will resign from the Mayor of Keçiören, he should also resign from the Mayor, shouting in the squares is not enough. He should not deceive CHP members, he should not deceive nationalists, he should not go to Belgium and criticize our country. This country was not established easily.
WARNING TO MANSUR YAVAŞ: ‘IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU TOO TOMORROW’
Addressing Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Özarslan argued that what he experienced could happen to other mayors as well. Özarslan said, “Everyone stays in an environment where they are happy, peaceful and safe. I am calling out to Mayor Mansur and other mayors: This situation happened to me today, it will happen to you tomorrow too.” “Are you angry with Mansur Yavaş?” Answering the question, Özarslan said, “I am only angry because he has not taken care of me lately. I have no other resentment.”
