“WE GUARANTEED THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OF WOMEN IN WORKING LIFE”

Stating that May 1 has been one of the most controversial issues in this country for years, Erdoğan said that they put an end to all these unnecessary discussions by declaring May 1 as a public holiday as Labor and Solidarity Day.

Reminding that they enacted the Occupational Health and Safety Law to ensure that workers work in safer conditions, Erdoğan stated that they facilitated the establishment conditions of unions and revised and improved the Law on Trade Unions and Collective Labor Agreements.

Stating that they strengthened union guarantees and the right to strike, and gave public servants the right to collective bargaining, Erdoğan said:

“We reinstated the collective bargaining bonus, which the main opposition party brought to the Constitutional Court and had it annulled. By lifting the headscarf ban in the public sector, we guaranteed women’s rights and freedoms in working life. Our public employees can now fully and effectively benefit from rights such as Friday leave and pilgrimage leave. Here, I have to emphasize that we see that these regulations for our people, who have been abused for years, whose rights have been ignored for years, and who have been victimized for decades with arbitrary bans, seriously disturb some circles in our country.

For some reason, the nation’s freedom of religion and conscience, in accordance with the mandatory provisions of our Constitution, and the ability to practice its faith freely in the public sphere, touches these and drives them crazy. I believe that you are also following this with regret. “In a country whose every inch of land has been kneaded with the blood of martyrs, which has been the standard-bearer of I’la-yi Kalimatullah for a thousand years, and where 99 percent are Muslims, they talk about workers, civil servants and university students going to Friday prayers with peace of mind, and children enjoying the joy of Ramadan to their fullest, and they attack with extremely ugly and disgusting expressions, such as the provocation of the reactionary minority.”

“THEY ARE FOLLOWING SECULARISM”

Pointing out that there are those who cowardly hide behind the concept of secularism and shoot at the faith values of the nation, and who have no duty other than acting as hitmen in civilian areas for the junta in the coup attempts against the national will since May 27, Erdoğan said, “We just laugh at the delusions of this mentally and intellectually fossilized group, who cannot digest the change that Türkiye has experienced in 23 years. “AS OUR STATE’S OPPORTUNITIES EXPANDED, WE ENSURE THAT 86 MILLION PEOPLE BENEFIT FROM THIS”

Pointing out that they always act with the awareness of carrying a basket of eggs on their backs, the trust and responsibility of 86 million people, Erdoğan concluded his speech with the following words:

“As the opportunities of our state expanded, we ensured that all 86 million workers, retirees and civil servants benefited fairly. We improved the personal rights of our civil servants with the regulations we made in areas such as salary increases, disciplinary amnesty, companion leave and additional payments. We arranged the wage increase rates, raises and compensations of our public servants, and their social supports in a way that would not be subject to inflation. We ensured that our retirees benefited from new rights such as holiday bonuses and bank promotions twice a year. “We have solved all the problems of our citizens, who spent their lives in medicine and hospital queues. We have made the health and social security system functioning smoothly. We have paved the way for temporary workers to work full-year. We have supported and strengthened our employees in every field, and hopefully we will continue to support you from now on.”

“OUR DETERMINED STRUGGLE HAS CONTINUED FOR 40 YEARS”

Emphasizing that Türkiye has been waging a determined fight against terrorism in the last 40 years, Çiftçi continued as follows:

“Thanks to the sacrifice of our security forces and the foresight of our beloved nation, we are at a very different point today. The greatest heroes of this success are our martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for this country. We owe gratitude and gratitude to all of them. Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan, AK Party Çorum Deputy Yusuf Ahlatcı and Çorum Mayor Halil İbrahim Aşgın also wished Minister Çiftçi success in his new position.

AK Party Deputy Chairman Ahmet Büyükgümüş had an iftar meal with citizens in the ‘GençNokta’ iftar tent, which was established since 2007 to commemorate the start of Ramadan. Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated that while workers and civil servants work day and night at their places of duty, they continue to work non-stop to protect the reward of this labor and to improve the living conditions of the workers.

Minister Işıkhan wished that the fasts, prayers and good deeds made during the holy Ramadan would be accepted by Allah in the “Labor Table Meeting” iftar program held at Beştepe Nation Exhibition Hall with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Işıkhan wished God’s mercy to Air Pilot Major İbrahim Bolat, who was martyred as a result of the crash of the F-16 plane taking off from the 9th Main Jet Base Command in Balıkesir, and expressed his patience and condolences to his family and relatives.

Stating that they are fortunate to share the same table with the workers who build Türkiye’s future at the factories, workshops and benches that have the biggest share in the development of the country, Işıkhan said that it is very meaningful for them to participate in this meaningful meeting under the leadership of President Erdoğan.

“WE HAVE MORE WORK TO DO, GOALS TO REACH”

“With the will of our President, we have transformed the social security system, which had come to the point of bankruptcy, into a strong, sustainable and exemplary social security structure. Once upon a time, our citizens were experiencing despair at the doors of hospitals, but today, everyone has easy access to health care, treatment and medicine, thanks to the established system. We saw the sweat of each of our workers as the mortar of this country’s independence, development and strong future. We are also happy to see that we have become stronger in working life, employment and social security with the projects we have recently implemented. It does.

The unemployment rate has been in single digits for about 3 years. We have reached historic best levels of employment and workforce participation. The unemployment rate among young people, one of the areas we focus on the most, dropped to its lowest level at 14.9 percent. We will further reduce this rate with our youth employment initiative, the POWER Project, which we will implement upon the instructions of our President. The unemployment rate for women, which was 11.1 percent, dropped to the lowest level in the last 13 years. We never think that where we are is enough. We know that we have more work to do and bigger goals to achieve.”

Some detained and undetained defendants and their lawyers attended the hearing held by the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court in the hall opposite the Marmara Closed Penal Institution.

At the hearing, relatives of the defendants and some CHP executives and party members attended as spectators. Gendarmerie personnel took intense security measures in and around the hall. The hearing continues with the requests of the lawyers being received.

FROM THE INDICTMENT

In the 579-page indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Beşiktaş Municipality, Avcılar Municipality, Esenyurt Municipality, Istanbul ASFALT Factories San. and Tic. AŞ and Istanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Enterprises General Directorate are listed as “damaged by crime”, 19 people are listed as “victims” and 200 people are listed as “suspects”.

In the indictment, Aziz İhsan Aktaş, one of the defendants, was accused of “forming an organization for the purpose of committing a crime”, 42 different acts of “tender rigging”, 4 different acts of “rigging the execution of an act”, 5 different acts of “forgery of official documents”, 21 different acts of “forgery of private documents”, “fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations”, 10 different acts of “bribery”, “property resulting from crime”. It is requested that he be sentenced to 187 to 450 years in prison for the crimes of “laundering assets” and “issuing false invoices” and that the assets he obtained from the crime be confiscated.

In the indictment, which requested that Avcılar Mayor defendant Utku Caner Çaykara, who was suspended from his duty after his arrest, be sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison for 2 different acts of “tender rigging” and “taking bribes”, Esenyurt Mayor defendant Ahmet Özer, who was suspended from his duty, was sentenced to 3 to 9 years in prison for 2 different acts of “tender rigging” and 2 different acts of “forgery of private documents”. It is foreseen that he will be punished with up to imprisonment.

In the indictment, it is requested that Seyhan Mayor defendant Oya Tekin, Ceyhan Mayor defendant Kadir Aydar, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor defendant Zeydan Karalar and Adıyaman Mayor defendant Abdurrahman Tutdere, who was suspended from his duty and reinstated after the judicial control against him was lifted, be sentenced to imprisonment from 4 to 12 years each for the crime of “taking bribes”.

Additionally, in the indictment, the suspended Beşiktaş Mayor, the defendant Rıza Akpolat, was accused of “being a member of a criminal organization”, 26 different acts of “tender rigging”, 3 different acts of “forgery of official documents”, 19 different acts of “forgery of private documents”, “fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations”, 4 different acts of “taking bribes”, “laundering of property values resulting from crime” and “wrongdoing”. He is asked to be sentenced to 133 to 337 years in prison for “acquisition of property” crimes and the confiscation of the assets he acquired through crime.
