No discount for ages 15-18

Published

on

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey Investigation Commission on Children Driven to Crime listened to Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Pınar Akdoğan and Public Prosecutor Mahmut Nedim Başarangil. In his speech, Akdoğan said, “We have to accept full criminal responsibility for intentional murder, aggravated sexual abuse, plunder and terrorism crimes for the 15-18 age range. Applying a discount based on minor age does not mean protecting our children. You also have to take care of the victim. The Minguzzi case is like the Hakan Çakır file in Ankara.” Stating that children perceive committing a crime as a game, Akdoğan continued as follows: “Children who commit murder pose laughingly on social media, cut off another child’s ear and share it, in other words, they show crime as a fun and prestigious area.

We need to prevent these. Our goal is to integrate children into society, but not by wrapping them in cotton wool and protecting them.” Akdoğan stated that the children between the ages of 15-18 20 years ago and the children between the ages of 15-18 today who were born into the internet and social media are not the same, and this should be taken into consideration when applying the laws. Stating that children who commit crimes fall into the hands of gangs, Akdoğan said, “They are literally growing up in criminal farms. When it falls into the hands of a gang, the crime is seen as a promotion within the gang and a badge of pride. “When they get out easily with a discount, they commit crimes again and again: This is why recidivism provisions should not be applied,” he said.

REPORTS MAKE YOU STAND

Referring to the social investigation reports (SIR), Akdoğan said that these reports caused their work to stumble and files to pile up, as they were perceived as the reason for the return of indictment. Akdoğan said, “The main goal of SIR is to guide the judge, not the prosecutor. These reports should be received at the court proceedings. Since they are prepared in a long time, they will disrupt us at the investigation stage.”

In Antalya’s Kaş district, land registry technician Diyar Akdağ was arrested on the grounds that she improperly questioned the land registry records belonging to the Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek.

According to the Kaş Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office investigation, Akdağ was interrogated a total of 7 times on 13, 20 and 23 February 2026.

In his statement, he said that he carried out these transactions under the guidance of Ayşegül Erdağ Kocadabak, whom he met via Tinder in January 2026.

Akdağ stated that he saw only 4 real estate records and that he did not know why CHP Chairman Özgür Özel gave a higher number.

Akdağ stated that he verbally conveyed the information he obtained to Ayşegül and that 300 thousand TL was offered in return, but she did not accept it.

It was also determined that Ayşegül Erdağ Kocadabak called Özgür Özel 8 times between February 28 and March 3, 2026.

Ayşegül Kocadabak, whom DA allegedly directed and sent the records to, was detained in Antalya yesterday.

On the other hand, Afyonkarahisar’s Çobanlar District Land Registry Director MD and Çorum’s Boğazkale District Land Registry Director VS, who were detained for a similar action, were also arrested.

Within the scope of the investigation, Minister Gürlek, through his lawyer, filed a criminal complaint against CHP leader Özgür Özel, the owner of the false allegations.

Minister Fidan: “Turkey has become a listened-to actor”

Published

on

In his post on his social media account, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan said, “Under the strong and astute leadership of our President, Turkey has become an actor whose voice is listened to, whose weight is felt and that affects the balances. Türkiye’s foreign policy is shaped not by daily reflexes, but by an independent will, state mind and strategic foresight that centers the interests of our nation.”

Minister Fidan: Turkey has become a listened-to actor

Emphasizing that no accusations can overshadow the efforts put forth by Türkiye, Fidan said, “Ignoring the steps we have taken with the responsibility of governing the state and distorting the statements we have made are the product of bad faith and insensible minds that have no responsibility towards our nation. We approach the crises in our region calmly and assume responsibility for peace and stability. Turkey is a country that has always been able to clearly say what it thinks is right to all parties. Accusations disconnected from the truth only tire those who say it, as it does today; Türkiye, which strives sincerely, reveals itself.” “It cannot overshadow the effort he has put in,” he said.

Slander operation against Akın Gürlek! Criminal complaint against CHP leader Özel

Published

on

The recent allegations against Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek were taken to court. In the criminal complaint submitted by Gürlek’s lawyer to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was stated that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel “conducted a systematic and planned smear campaign that went beyond the limits of criticism.”

SYSTEMATIC DAMAGE CAMPAIGN

In the petition submitted by the lawyer, it was emphasized that Özel targeted Gürlek with the statements he made on certain dates in order to create public perception and that these statements constituted a serious attack on the client’s personal rights.

HE EXCEEDED THE LIMIT OF INSULT AND SLANDER

In the criminal complaint, it was stated that the expressions used by Özgür Özel in his speeches were clearly within the scope of the crime of insult (TCK 125). In the application made by the lawyer, it was stated that expressions such as “AK Toros gang” and “AK-İT” were directly insulting; It was underlined that these statements were repeated on public platforms, reaching millions of people, and that statements expressed through physical characteristics cannot be considered within the scope of freedom of expression.

UNREAL ASSET CLAIM

One of the most striking topics in the petition was property claims. It was stated that Özgür Özel’s statements that Gürlek owned dozens of immovable properties and that they were acquired illegally were “completely unfounded, untrue and fictitious”, did not match the official records and deliberately aimed to mislead the public. In the application, it was particularly emphasized that these allegations should be evaluated within the scope of the crime of slander (TCK 267).

FORGERY IN PRIVATE DOCUMENTS WITH FAKE DEED DEED IMAGES

One of the most serious accusations in the criminal complaint was the use of false documents. According to the petition, it was stated that the title deed images used by Özgür Özel in his statements did not reflect reality, that immovable properties that did not belong to the client were presented as if they belonged to him, and that the images were produced to create a perception in the public. In this context, it was clearly stated that the action constituted the crime of forgery of private documents (TCK 207).

THE SAME CLAIMS WERE REPEATED ON DIFFERENT DATES

In the application, it was pointed out that the statements in question were not one-time. It was stated that Özgür Özel repeated the same allegations on different platforms on March 17, March 19 and March 24, and that this situation constituted a “continuous and systematic attack”.

FEZLEKE PROCESS STARTS

In the complaint petition, it was reminded that the process would work differently because Özgür Özel was a member of parliament. Accordingly, an investigation will be conducted by the prosecutor’s office; Then, the summary report will be prepared and the file will be sent to the Turkish Grand National Assembly through the Ministry of Justice. If immunity is lifted, judicial proceedings are expected to be initiated against the suspect.

EMPHASIS “THE PUBLIC WAS MISLEADED”

In the general framework of the petition, Özgür Özel’s statements are not just a political criticism; It was noted that it was “an organized and systematic perception operation aimed at misleading the public.” It was stated that the continuation of the allegations despite the statements made by Minister Gürlek “clearly reveals the intensity of the intent”. It was learned that Minister Akın Gürlek, apart from this case, filed another lawsuit against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel for non-pecuniary damages in the amount of 1 million TL.
