President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the “Opening of the Selimiye Mosque for Worship After Restoration and the Mass Opening and Turnkey Ceremony of the Completed Facilities and Projects” in Edirne:

Selimiye is a magnificent work in which Mimar Sinan’s high artistic genius is engraved on stone, marble, time and space. It is our title deed showing that these lands, with their four elegant minarets reaching up to the sky, are the Turkish-Islamic land forever. Thank God, we restored the Selimiye Mosque, one of the most aesthetic works of not only Turkish-Islamic architecture but also world architecture, in accordance with its original form and reopened it for worship today. Our restoration process, which lasted four years, was the most comprehensive restoration work in Selimiye’s 450-year history. The restoration of our mosque was carried out by our General Directorate of Foundations, under the guidance of our scientific committee, which includes distinguished names.

From the pencil work to the stone texture, from the interior arrangements to the environmental revitalization, every step was taken to remain faithful to the original work. While old cement applications that damaged the structure were cleaned, reinforcements were made on the main dome, minarets and all static systems. From the entrance gate to the muezzin’s gallery, from the mihrab tiles to the woodwork, we have not left a single spot untouched, restored, cleaned or strengthened, so to speak. We specifically did not touch the section that was hit by a cannonball as a result of the fire of the Bulgarian forces during the Balkan Wars and left a mark on the mosque facade. We preserved that trace as a living witness of the difficult struggles in these lands. I believe that we have given Selimiye another 100 years with the restoration work that cost 450 million liras. Good luck and good luck. I congratulate those who contributed. May God never miss the adhan of Muhammad from his minarets.

FLOOD OF LOVE WITH 32 THOUSAND CITIZENS

In line with my instructions, our National Palaces Presidency started its work. We will open the Edirne Palace towards the end of 2027 with the largest renovation project in Europe. With the restoration of the palace, Edirne will regain its glory of 150 years ago.

65 ARTWORKS WORTH 19.3 BILLION LIRAS

My dear brothers and sisters, we came to Edirne today with our hands full. We offer 65 projects worth a total of 19 billion 326 million lira for your benefit. We are bringing projects worth 1.1 billion liras in Internal Affairs, 7 schools with a total investment of 670 million liras in National Education, and 2 works worth 75 million liras in Family and Social Services to our city. In Youth and Sports, we are bringing 27 investments worth a total of 1.3 billion lira to Edirne, including district fields, camping areas, student dormitories and stadiums. We have implemented 9 projects worth a total of 590 million liras in health.

TURN-KEY DELIVERY WAS DONE FOR 1033 RESIDENCES

We will also deliver the turnkey delivery of 1033 houses completed throughout the province. I wish good luck to our rightful brothers and sisters who have found their homes, and I pray to God that they live happily in their homes. Representing the rightful citizens, the keys of their houses were symbolically handed over to the Çaylar, Gürgen, Çörek, Çetin and Alpin families. The program ended with a family photo.

WE KEPT OUR COUNTRY AWAY FROM THE FIRE PIT

Türkiye does not have a single moment to waste, not a single day to waste, in the main opposition’s seat fights. GOOD NEWS ON AGRICULTURE AND IRRIGATION

Our investments in agriculture and irrigation, which are very important for Edirne, continue without slowing down. With the Süloğlu Dam Transmission Line Renovation completed this year, we will provide 8 million cubic meters of drinking water to Edirne city center annually. Our work continues on the second part of the Lower İpsala Hamzadere Dam Irrigation project, with an investment cost of 3 billion 700 million liras. We hope to put this project, two-thirds of which we have completed, into service in 2027. We plan to complete the Çömlekköy Dam project in 2028.

WE TOOK Türkiye INTO THE GIANTS LEAGUE

We will increase our pace a little more in the process of a terror-free Türkiye. We have only one problem; And that is the peace and security of 86 million. The Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) published the 2026 Main Decree on Judicial and Administrative Jurisdiction. With the decree, which was completed and finalized as of June 12, 2026, the duty places of 4 thousand 608 judicial justice and 359 administrative justice personnel were changed. With the decree, a comprehensive change in duties was made in the judicial organization. With the Main Decree of 2026, the chief public prosecutors of 33 provinces, including Samsun, Eskişehir, Konya and Şanlıurfa, and the commission heads of 27 provinces were changed. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek said, “We have completed our work on the 2026 Main Decree on Judicial and Administrative Jurisdiction. I hope that the decree will be beneficial to our judicial organization and our beloved nation.” With the decree, two important names were appointed as Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutors. HSK Deputy Secretary General Ömer Örücü was appointed as Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor. Ahmet Akdeniz, who served as Ankara Public Prosecutor and acting Deputy General Director at the General Directorate of Criminal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, was also appointed as Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor.

Hundreds of thousands of students will sweat in the High School Entrance System (LGS) exam on Saturday, June 13. President Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan wished success to the students before this important exam.
