Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Knowledge Dissemination Foundation: Israel should be held responsible by being forced to pay compensation for the Palestinians

Published

on

Bilal Erdoğan, in his speech on the last day of the 18th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum organized by the Italian non-governmental organization “Associazione Conoscere Eurasia” at Çırağan Palace, said that Türkiye has historically been at the intersection of civilizations.

Stating that history began with migrations from Asia to Europe and that Anatolia was made a homeland a thousand years ago, Bilal Erdoğan stated that the forum was organized for the 18th time this year.

Stating that the forum was always held in Verona, known as the “city of love”, but now this love in the forum has disappeared, Bilal Erdoğan said, “I think this forum knows very well the double standards that this world applies against us, you and the Russians. A war continues in the north and we are very accustomed to the wars around us in Türkiye, but we see that these unfair sanctions are applied not only to the Russian government and Russian companies, but also to Russian athletes and artists. They cannot participate in competitions, they cannot participate in events.” he said.

Bilal Erdoğan pointed out that Israel committed genocide in Gaza and continued as follows:

“This situation is now documented and even international organizations have objectively decided that this is a genocide, but unfortunately we do not see such sanctions being applied to Israel. As Turkey, we find ourselves in the middle of these two difficult situations. We are friends of both sides of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This is already a difficult situation because we do not want to lose Russia. We do not want to lose Ukraine either. Both are very important partners and neighbors of Türkiye in economic, historical and social terms. These are countries very close to us and, of course, Palestine.” “We love its people very much. We share the same religion and the same geography. We ruled these lands for 500 years, but now there is a genocide going on there. Unfortunately, the West applies double standards in its relations with Russia and Israel, and this is very frustrating.”

Explaining that he is the president of the World Ethnosport Union and that he witnessed this trauma happening before his eyes as a sports manager, Bilal Erdoğan said that although Russian athletes cannot take part in the competitions, Israeli teams can still compete everywhere, and that international organizations do everything they can to please the Israeli teams, even if it is sometimes to the detriment of the rival teams.

“Türkiye IS STRUGGLING TO BRING PEACE”

Bilal Erdoğan pointed out that the lack of strategic vision in Europe is very deep.

“Talking about Türkiye’s membership in the European Union is becoming more and more a dream.” Bilal Erdoğan made the following evaluations:

“As you know, Turkey is still largely a European country. We trade with Europe. In the Square of Venice you see Turkish merchants who came to Venice 500 years ago and traded with the Italians. We have been in European politics for 500 years. The Ottoman navy, Suleiman the Magnificent, was in Nice for 9 months to protect the French from the Germans, so Turkey is very European in every respect, but due to this lack of vision, Europe unfortunately limits its future potential. Demographically it is already under threat. “There are also challenges for Europe’s economic future.”

Pointing to the talks held in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine, Bilal Erdoğan said that he did not understand why Europe wanted a weakened Russia, and that the historical answer to this issue could be that Europe always sees a constant threat.

Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Knowledge Dissemination Foundation, explained that after the Cold War period, the EU and NATO tried to include Russia in their mechanisms, many meetings were held for this purpose, but due to the lack of strategic vision, Russia could not be included both from the EU perspective and from NATO’s American perspective.

Pointing out that Georgia has been treated similarly in recent years, Bilal Erdoğan said:

“Although Georgia has a pro-European and pro-Western political leadership, it is now seen as pro-Russian, pro-Russian people, which is very interesting. Even if they are not, they have no diplomatic relations with Russia. Europe and Russia have been pushing them for the last 17 years, and this country does not know what to do. Some Europeans thought they could declare war on Russia. Thus, two fronts would be formed and Russia would go through a more difficult period. It is incredible to think that a small country would do this due to the pressure of some European circles. Turkey will suffer the most from the EU’s relations with Georgia The country that will suffer the most from the war in Ukraine is the country that will suffer the most from the genocide in Palestine. That is why Türkiye and President Erdoğan’s role in all these conflicts is not appreciated enough.

This week, both the British and German Prime Ministers were in Istanbul. I think there is now an awareness that Europe needs to cooperate more with Turkey on these conflicts. “I hope this gives us a glimmer of hope for the years to come.”

“ISRAEL SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR GENOCIDE”

Bilal Erdoğan said that the world will enter a period similar to the Cold War, that everyone had to choose a side at that time and that this was very problematic, that Türkiye was on the NATO side, but the Cold War could not fully realize its potential for more than 40 years.

Explaining that he examined the economies of Turkey and Italy at the end of the Second World War, Bilal Erdoğan stated that the economies were very similar and very close in terms of size, but Italy rose suddenly, while Türkiye remained a rural and predominantly agriculture-based society throughout the Cold War years.

Underlining that Türkiye made decisions that did not serve its own interests during the Cold War, Bilal Erdoğan said, “A country like Turkey should not have to choose a side because we are in the middle of everything. Our interests require us not to choose sides in a bipolar world. Turkey is already seen as a power region because it currently has an economy of 1.5 trillion dollars. Therefore, as a regional power in the upcoming bipolar world, we must make decisions according to Türkiye’s interests.” he said.

Stating that all international organizations are experiencing similar management problems due to the dynamics of the transformation from a unipolar to a multi- or bipolar world, Bilal Erdoğan explained that if management reform can be done in the EU, the same should be done in the UN.

Pointing out that Türkiye demands reform in the UN under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and constantly says that “The world is bigger than five”, Bilal Erdoğan said, “The veto power in the UN prevents everything. The UN cannot stop the war or ensure peace.” he said.

Bilal Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye could do something in Syria and said, “It is not the EU, the UN or even the USA, because a regional power with close interests and surroundings is more sensitive to finding a real solution to any problem. That is why the genocide in Palestine is the same. It is incredible that the USA vetoed the last decision of the UN Security Council with 14 votes against. The USA is against 14 and most of these 14, including 4 out of 5 members of the UN Security Council.” “This is why I think it is necessary to give new power to this international organization.” he said.

“ISRAEL SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR GENOCIDE”

Bilal Erdoğan pointed out that they need a rule-based international system.

“I think that decision-making mechanisms should be revised to represent more continents and civilizations in order to establish a new rules-based international system, given the new conditions of a bipolar or multipolar world.” Making his evaluation, Bilal Erdoğan concluded his words as follows:

“Nearly 2 billion Muslims are not represented in the 5 members of the UN Security Council. Thus, we can understand why the Muslim world is struggling with various internal conflicts, civil wars and the latest genocide. Israel needs to be held responsible for the genocide. Not only in the International Criminal Court but also in the International Court of Justice, Israel should be held responsible by being forced to pay compensation for the Palestinians. It will destroy the entire infrastructure of 2 million people and then Muslim countries will come and rebuild… This is not fair. If Muslim countries come back and rebuild, Israel will still be held responsible.” “That’s why I think Israel should rebuild Gaza. Even if it’s 100 million dollars, Israel needs to rebuild Gaza and cover the cost of its reconstruction so that they don’t commit such genocide and crimes against humanity again.”
