Syria message from Minister Fidan: SDF must now say goodbye to terrorism
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan said, “Now is the time for national unity (in Syria). The SDF needs to do its part at this point. However, unfortunately, it is not a coincidence that instead, in coordination with Israel, it has turned into an actor that will be an instrument of Israel’s ‘divide, rule’ policy in our region.” he said.
Minister Fidan spoke at the joint press conference held at the Ministry with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamed al-Busaidi.
Fidan stated that the events that took place in Aleppo city of Syria were the manifestation of what Türkiye has been warning about for the last year, and pointed out that if the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which uses the name SDF in Syria, had started to implement the integration process in Syria instead of playing for time, these events would not have occurred.
Pointing out that the PKK/YPG’s approach of remaining without compromise and advancing its interests wherever it is located does not benefit anyone, Fidan emphasized that the Syrian government has now licked its own wounds, increased its capacity to fight terrorism and provided services to its people on certain issues.
Fidan said, “(In Syria) Now is the time for national unity. The SDF needs to do its part at this point. However, unfortunately, it is not a coincidence that instead, in coordination with Israel, it has turned into an actor that will be a tool for the ‘divide, disintegrate and rule’ policy carried out by Israel in our region.” he said.
Stating that Türkiye has started to see the events in Yemen, Somaliland, Sudan and Syria from the same lens, Fidan added that this is Ankara’s strategic assessment.

A decision was made in the case regarding the suspension of the former Mayor of Esenyurt Municipality, Ahmet Özer.
In the file number 2024/162302 of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued for Ahmet Özer within the scope of the investigation carried out on the charge of “Being a Member of the PKK/KCK Armed Terrorist Organization”. In this process, Özer was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Istanbul Deputy Governor Can Aksoy was appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Esenyurt. Ahmet Özer filed a lawsuit at the Istanbul 9th Administrative Court, claiming that the transaction in question was against the law, and requested the annulment of the suspension decision.

The court rejected the case in its decision dated February 6, 2026. In the decision, it was reminded that the Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court sentenced Özer to 6 years and 3 months in prison for “Being a Member of the PKK/KCK/YPG/YDG-H Armed Terrorist Organization”. Although the court’s evaluation included the claim that the crime charged by the plaintiff was not related to duty, it was emphasized that considering the nature of the crime of membership in a terrorist organization and its impact on public duty, it was among the serious crimes that constitute an obstacle to public duty. The decision also stated that in case of serious allegations regarding terrorist crimes against mayors, suspension from office may be applied as a temporary measure in order to ensure that the investigation and prosecution processes are carried out properly. In this context, it was stated that the process regarding the appointment of the deputy mayor was in accordance with the law. In line with all these reasons, Istanbul 9th Administrative Court ruled to “reject the case” in the case filed by Ahmet Özer.

CHP Beykoz Municipal Council member resigned with shocking words
CHP Beykoz District Organization, which started to experience very turbulent days after Alaattin Köseler’s arrest and dismissal within the scope of the corruption operation, Beykoz Municipality’s CHP council member Esenyül Yılmaz Gül resigned from his party and the party council group. While Esengül Yılmaz Gül used poisonous expressions in her resignation, she said that her party could not reach any power, everyone was trying to get a share of the cake, and personal interests had replaced the common struggle in the party. With the resignation of Esengül Yılmaz Gül in the Beykoz Municipality council, where the AK Party had 13 council members, the number of CHP council members decreased to 14. While there were 2 council members of MHP in the parliament, 2 council members became independent.
“I COULD NOT REACH ANY MAN OF MY PARTY”
Council member Esengül Yılmaz Gül, who shared that she resigned and stated that she could not reach any power in her party, said, “I would like to share with the public that I have resigned from the Republican People’s Party and the Republican People’s Party Parliamentary Group, to which I gave my years, effort and faith. Politics has never been a matter of position or title for me. I walked this path for the values I believe in. I worked day and night for 26 years, went door to door, and did not hold back in difficult times. Because one day when I look back, “I did my best.” “I gave my childhood, my youth, and my best years to the Republican People’s Party. I couldn’t experience my motherhood. In return, no one saw my struggles, no one heard my cry for help. All the doors I knocked on to unite were closed to me, and I could not reach any member of the party I represented. My phone never rang, and I was never asked how I was.”
“EVERYONE THINKED ABOUT GETTING A SHARE OF THE CAKE”
Stating that he was becoming increasingly lonely in the party, Yılmaz said, “I have never been someone who runs away from the struggle. But it is hard on one’s dignity to stay in a place where one’s own efforts are ignored, one’s voice is not heard, and one is increasingly isolated. What is more painful is that some of my friends in the parliamentary group did not hesitate to put me forward in order to avoid getting into fights. It was not acceptable for those who escaped their responsibilities towards Beykoz to put the cost of what happened on others and to try to make my name crazy because I finally had the courage to go to the podium and speak. One is unjustly lonely.” “In addition to being abandoned, his resentment grows even more when he encounters such an injustice. I have never been involved in politics for personal gain, but there is no longer any point in staying in a place where everyone prioritizes their own interests and thinks about their share of the cake, and where labor and loyalty are invisible.”
“INTERESTS HAVE REPLACED THE STRUGGLE”
Expressing that common struggle has been replaced by interests, Esengül Yılmaz Gül said, “Politics gains meaning not only with slogans, but with loyalty, justice and solidarity. All these values have disappeared in the Republican People’s Party. At the point we have reached today, solidarity in the Republican People’s Party has been replaced by calculations, and common struggle has been replaced by personal interests. However, politics is not a race to protect seats or individual positions; it is the responsibility of offering a better future to the people of Beykoz. In a place where personal interests come before serving Beykoz, remaining silent is also It was not in my conscience to ignore it. I would like to thank everyone I met and fought with during this process and whose sincerity I believed in. My struggle, the values I believe in and the responsibility I feel for Beykoz will always continue. I am leaving today because I prefer to be a part of the wrong. History will definitely write who is truly fighting for Beykoz and who is only thinking of their own interests. The rest is up to time and the discretion of the people of Beykoz.

BREAKING NEWS | Iran message from President Erdoğan: We keep our country away from the fire pit
“THE WORLD IS QUIET AND INSENSITIVE”
Stating that the world remained silent and insensitive to the oppression taking place in many countries, President Erdoğan said, “We saw this in the 13 and a half years of oppression in Syria. We saw this when people were starving in Somalia. We saw this when our brothers were being massacred in Khojaly. We saw this before in Srebrenica, in that genocide. Most recently, we saw this in the Gaza atrocity, and in a very painful way.” he said.
Stating that while the people are reacting, universities are turning into centers of resistance, and the squares are full of people of conscience, unfortunately the administrations sometimes succumb to pressure and sometimes to blackmail, Erdoğan said:
“Some countries ignored the oppression and genocide. Some countries supported genocidal perpetrators, such as Israel. Apart from a handful of conscientious, principled, and courageous countries, institutions, and organizations, there was almost no one who reacted to the oppression in our geography and, moreover, worked hard to stop them. The tragedy of tens of thousands of Gazan and Syrian children, whose families were completely destroyed, did not even come to the fore as much as a penguin separated from his flock thanks to the false conscience of the virtual world. In such a world that has suffered from an eclipse of conscience, you, as Turkey, are the ones who reacted to the oppression in our geography, and even worked hard to stop them. “We are fighting together to be the conscience of humanity with their support.”
“WE DO NOT CONTRIBUTE, WE DO NOT SILENCE, WE DO NOT FORGET PALESTINE”
Stating that the shepherd fire that Türkiye has lit in Anatolia today has warmed the hearts of millions of oppressed people all over the spiritual and cultural geography, President Erdoğan said, “From Palestine to Arakan, from Africa to Latin America, in places where the international community has turned its back, we are with you, we are with our official institutions, we are with our non-governmental organizations. We have all mobilized together to hold the hand of a poor person, to wipe the tears of an oppressed person, to caress the head of an orphan.” “We are in a situation.” he said.
President Erdoğan underlined that they are in solidarity with all the oppressed people in the world, especially their brothers in Gaza, and said, “We do not cower, we do not remain silent, we do not forget Palestine, as the hundreds of thousands of people who came together at the Galata Bridge on January 1st under the leadership of the National Will Platform shouted. I want to declare this openly today. As long as this life is in this skin, we will stand by the oppressed, we will not consent to oppression, we will not cower in the face of pressure and “We will not be silent.” he said.
Erdoğan congratulated the National Will Platform, which has stood on the side of the right and the just, with the 4 Gaza rallies it has organized so far with the participation of millions, and said, “May God bless you,” and said:
“I pray and thank you for standing by not only the oppressed and the disadvantaged, but also the national will and the nation for nearly 13 years. This platform, which has 312 active members, 100 of which are non-governmental organizations, has been living up to its name since December 5, 2013. As long as we keep the solidarity and friendship between us alive, we can protect our democracy from threats and dangers. Just like the bricks of a wall, the building has a mersus rule. As in that ruling, we can break their innocent hands reaching out to our independence and future. This is the only way we can resist the ideological impositions of the group that insulted the nation with the declarations they published the day before Ramadan. With God’s permission, we will continue our struggle as one heart and one wrist.”
“I WANT YOU TO BE VERY CAREFUL AGAINST PROTITIONS BASED ON Sectarianism and Ethnic Origins”
President Erdoğan stated that they need to both strengthen brotherhood and protect common sense in the current conjuncture in the region and said, “Look, as the government, we act very carefully against the schemes, traps and provocations that want to draw our country into war. We focus not only on the visible part of the events, but also on the part hidden behind the curtain, we do not exclude any possibility, no scenario, we analyze and examine everything in detail. Again, in this process, as last night, we also take the necessary preventive activities against all kinds of threats that violate our airspace.” “Türkiye’s thousands of years of ancient state wisdom and our government’s 23 years of crisis management experience are our greatest guide in reading and understanding the complex events around us and giving correct and measured responses to them. Our first priority is to keep our country away from this fire pit. I want you to be very careful against the sectarian and ethnic-based provocations that are fueled simultaneously with the attacks on Iran.” he said.
Stating that they have embarked on a long and narrow path and that they have rolled up their sleeves for a long-term struggle, Erdoğan said, “All our efforts are based on Master Necip Fazıl’s words, ‘I thought it was a human being, a porter of a sacred load. Being a porter has neither rank nor property at the end. It is just a bitter bite, from food cooked with poison. And separation from mother, homeland, friend.’ “What he said is for our sacred and majestic cause to be victorious,” he said.
