Interior Minister Çiftçi emphasizes determination in the fight against crime
Minister Çiftçi evaluated the work carried out to prevent such attacks using motorcycles to the AA correspondent.
Stating that operations and preventive security works aimed at eliminating the action capability of armed criminal organizations are carried out uninterruptedly under the coordination of the Ministry, Çiftçi said that the structures using this method are followed by the security units with all their connections.
Emphasizing that the struggle is not limited to the people who carried out the attack, Çiftçi said:
“We target all links of the crime chain, from the person who carried out the attack using the motorcycle to the one who gave the instructions for the action, to the one who provided the weapon and vehicle, to the one who provided escape and shelter. We narrow down the movement area of these structures by carrying out our operational work, intelligence activities and preventive measures together.”
Minister Çiftçi pointed out that some armed criminal organizations use motorcycles to reach the scene quickly, hide their identities and move away from the area after the attack, and stated that changing the method used will not be enough to escape the surveillance of security units.
THE NUMBER OF INCIDENTS DECREASED
Minister Çiftçi, who also shared the data regarding the incidents in which firearms were used by motorcycle, said:
“In the period between January 1 and July 16 of last year, there were 165 incidents in which a firearm was used on a motorcycle. In the same period of this year, the number of incidents decreased to 46. Thus, a decrease in these incidents was achieved.”
Çiftçi stated that when the same periods are compared, the number of people who lost their lives in the incidents decreased from 17 to 9, and the number of those injured decreased from 81 to 15.
Stating that the results obtained show the reward of the determined struggle carried out by the security units on the field, Çiftçi concluded his words as follows:
“Each incident is a serious security issue that we must focus on with the same sensitivity. Our goal is not only to reduce the number of incidents, but also to completely eliminate the action capacity of armed criminal organizations. We will not allow those who threaten Türkiye’s security, regardless of the tools and methods they use.”

Gürsel Tekin: Two people can know something that the devil cannot think of
Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed to the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul Provincial Administration, held a press conference at the CHP Istanbul Provincial Directorate building. Tekin said, “We hold participation days for our party every Saturday. There is great interest. Yesterday, we held a very comprehensive meeting with the participation of our esteemed Chairman. Hundreds of our friends from different political parties joined the party. We are not in a position to look at anyone’s record. I am a person who has been a party manager for a long time with experience. In public places, our managers only take the names of our friends who came and who did not come. In order not to face the operation of a mud media, we took the names of our friends because our hall has a limited number. We kneaded it.” “We have been here for 10 months. Many of our friends come with their own means. Some of our young friends asked us for transportation support because of the large number of them. Apart from that, we cannot afford to spend money.”
‘EVERYONE WHO WANTS CAN PAY AND RENT IT’
Tekin said, “Partyship is a completely voluntary thing. The mayor and administrators of Sarıyer Municipality, who allocated the hall to us, were lynched. Anyone who wants can pay and rent it. You rent the hall of your own municipality and your mayor is lynched. I will explain those gangs. They did something that the devil would never think of. We asked our Şişli Youth Branch President, do you know him: None. Two people can know. First, the media that set this dirty trap, secondly, the prosecutors of our state will know through investigation. We immediately filed a criminal complaint at night. None.” “We were not on the dirty side, we did not set a trap for anyone. Dear prosecutors, you will go to the bottom of the person who set this trap. We will go after the person responsible for this FETO plot. What if there are 70 people missing, what happens if there are more?”
‘AZİZ İHSAN AKTAŞ CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION IS BUSINESSMEN’
Tekin said, “This triangle, which we call the devil’s triangle, whenever I talk about confessors, the chemistry of this dirty media breaks down. Aziz İhsan Aktaş Crime Organization is businessmen. They look for a way to stay powerful in their institutions and buy politicians. This person bought two important actors of the CHP. Özgür Karabat is the second one, Burhanettin Bulut. Özgür Karabat is the one who looks after the financial affairs, and Burhanettin Bulut looks after the media buying.”

Fair balance in alimony is a must – Last Minute News
Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM) organized a legal workshop titled “Fair Balance in Alimony Regulations” in Istanbul to address current debates on alimony law. In the program attended by ministry officials, academics, judges and lawyers, the issue of alimony was discussed in terms of legal, social, humanitarian and economic aspects.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
KADEM Chairman of the Board of Directors, Lawyer Dr. Canan Sarı said that alimony is an issue that directly affects individuals’ lives, family relationships and society’s understanding of justice, and has been discussed for years from various experiences and perspectives. Stating that they are fighting against all kinds of rights violations and violence against women, Sarı said, “The issue of alimony is one of the important topics that has been on Türkiye’s legal and public agenda for many years. We find it natural to review the legal order in line with changing social needs, but we adopt an approach based on not damaging the acquired rights of women and preventing new grievances from occurring. We see securing the rights of women and children who need economic protection after divorce as an integral part of legal and social responsibility.” Emphasizing that divorce carries significant economic risks for women who stay away from working life for a long time due to care responsibilities or who have not yet achieved economic independence, Sarı said, “The changing social structure, the differentiation of women’s education and employment opportunities, economic conditions, duration of marriage, income status of the parties and examples encountered in practice require the re-evaluation of the alimony system in different aspects.
CONTRIBUTION TO LEGAL REFORM
KADEM Legal Board President, Lawyer Elif Şeker, stated that the regulations to be made in alimony law should maintain a fair balance that does not victimize women and does not unduly burden the obliged party. Şeker said, “Our wish is that the evaluations and suggestions that will emerge at the end of this workshop will contribute to law reform studies, strengthen the sense of equity in family law and serve social peace.”
