Minister Gürlek: Strengthening the judiciary means strengthening justice
Minister of Justice Gürlek, in his speech at the iftar program organized by Ankara No. 2 Bar Association at ATO Congresium, wished that Ramadan would bring goodness to Türkiye and the Islamic world.
Stating that the prosecutor represents the claim, the judge represents the decision, and the lawyer represents the defense, Gürlek stated that if one of these three elements is weak, justice will be lacking.
Gürlek reminded that the Law on Lawyers defines the lawyer as the founding element of the judiciary, and emphasized that the Turkish Penal Code counts lawyers among the persons performing judicial duties and that lawyers are the guarantee of the rule of law.
Stating that lawyers have a great role in the success achieved especially in areas such as mediation and conciliation, Gürlek continued as follows:
“In recent years, we have taken important steps to strengthen the legal profession. We introduced the Legal Professions Entrance Exam. We made arrangements to increase the quality in law faculties. We implemented the e-trial system and enabled lawyers to participate in the trials from where they are. We expanded the UYAP integration, introduced the hearing application, reduced the VAT rate on some legal services. We introduced bar association deductible exemption and financial support for lawyers who are new to the profession. We increased legal aid revenues. They listen to the voice of the defense. “These are the regulations that have been given and implemented.”
“WE WILL UPDATE THE LAWYER LAW”
Gürlek stated that strengthening the legal profession is possible not only with individual regulations but with a holistic approach.
For this purpose, Gürlek explained that they immediately started working to address the Law on Lawyers in a more comprehensive manner and said:
“As one of the main objectives of strengthening the defense in the Judicial Reform Strategy document, we will update the Law on Lawyers in the coming period, expand the powers of lawyers to unite, cooperate and obtain documents, and make arrangements to support trainee lawyers. Our aim is to prepare an environment where lawyers can practice their profession safely, respectfully and effectively. Strengthening the defense means strengthening the judiciary. Strengthening the judiciary means strengthening justice. Justice comes to life as a whole with the judge’s verdict, the prosecutor’s claim and the lawyer’s defense. This is “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our lawyers who worked for the manifestation of justice, and I hope that the month of Ramadan will be beneficial.”
“THE NEED FOR A NEW CONSTITUTION IS NOT A POLITICAL PREFERENCE, BUT A SOCIAL NECESSITY”
Gökhan Ağdemir, President of Ankara Bar Association No. 2, stated that Ramadan is not only about fasting, but also about educating the soul, purifying the heart and making people bond more closely to each other.
Stating that the legal profession is the honorable representation of the struggle for rights, Ağdemir emphasized that lawyers are the founding elements of the judiciary.
Wishing success to Minister of Justice Gürlek and Deputy Ministers of Justice in their new duties, Ağdemir said, “As Ankara Bar Association No. 2, I would like you to know that we are with you in every step to be taken in terms of judicial reforms and bringing our profession to better places.” he said.
Stating that the goal of a terrorism-free Turkey is a unity and solidarity project to ensure the further strengthening of a peaceful state of law, Ağdemir expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and the members of the National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Ağdemir said:
“Our current constitutional system was prepared under extraordinary period conditions, revised with many changes, but could not turn into a new social contract that provides integrity. The need for a new constitution is not a political choice, but a social obligation. Because the constitution is the written expression of the common will of the nation. The new constitution should embrace a Terror-free Türkiye in peace and tranquility with a text that unites, does not create uncertainty, and gives confidence. Türkiye’s need is not a vision that reckons with the past, but a vision that builds the future. Ankara No. 2 Bar Association is new with the understanding of state and nation in its founding philosophy. “It is ready to make any contribution to the constitution.”
Underlining that one of the most common problems faced by the judicial system is the failure to finalize the files within a reasonable time, and that this causes serious grievances to both citizens and lawyers, Ağdemir said that they will find it valuable that the “Alo Justice” system to be implemented will control the delays.
After the speeches, Ağdemir presented a gift to Minister Gürlek.

RUSSIA USED HARDER EXPRESSIONS
The Russian Embassy in Ankara responded to the French side’s statement with harsher expressions. Minister Kurum emphasized that Türkiye, the rising power of the world in every field, has a say in diplomacy under the leadership of President Erdoğan.

Reminding that geopolitical fault lines have reactivated in the world and that there is a hot competition between countries in fields such as energy, mining, rare elements, artificial intelligence and digital sovereignty, Kurum pointed out that demographic fractures, migration waves and food security problems are increasing, financial uncertainties have triggered the emergence of a new financial structure, and the world is divided into “fossil block” and “green block”.
Pointing out that the green standards of the West and the development priority of the global south and underdeveloped countries weaken the basis for reconciliation and dialogue, Kurum said:
“Turkey will strengthen its unique position by building a new basis of consensus as the system architect in this conjuncture. While Turkey, on the one hand, will be the voice of countries seeking development with climate justice, just transition, and humanitarian diplomacy approaches, on the other hand, it will invite developed countries to take responsibility with suggestions such as green economy, green energy, equity, loss and damage fund. Because in our opinion, the fight against climate change is not about restricting life and preventing growth and development. It is not about depriving the people of development, but about spreading prosperity throughout the world, “We think it is a revolution that ensures access to food, water, energy and justice.”

Emphasizing that Türkiye continues to make a great breakthrough that many countries have followed with envy in recent years, Erdoğan pointed out that a historical transformation has been experienced in almost every field in Türkiye, from the defense industry to tourism, from education to trade, from health to technology.
Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is building its future with the inspiration and courage it received from the past, and made the following statements:
“You, our young people, have a very important share in Türkiye’s development and economic progress, as well as in the defense of the homeland, in making it a more prosperous and more prestigious country. From UAVs and SiHAs to space studies, from artificial intelligence to major technology initiatives, the hard work of young engineers, young researchers and entrepreneurs raised in these lands is responsible for every achievement of our country. “WE MADE VERY SERIOUS INVESTMENTS IN SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE”
Stating that they are always supporters of young people so that they can use their energy and potential at the highest level, Erdoğan shared the following information:
“For this purpose, we expanded our youth centers throughout our country. When we took office, the number of our Youth Centers was 9. Today, this number has reached 570. By opening 132 new universities in higher education, we increased the total number of universities to 208. We increased the number of our higher education dormitories from 190 to 875. We put our comfortable, safe and modern dormitories with a capacity of 1 million beds at the service of our students. We want our young friends to lead the politics and the destiny of the country.” We first lowered the voting age from 30 to 25 and then to 18. We have made serious investments in the sports infrastructure of our country. We have built modern stadiums, indoor sports halls, swimming pools and athletics tracks in all 81 provinces. Our total number of sports facilities has increased from 1575 to 4 thousand 562 today. We have reached the highest number of medals in our history with the results we achieved in the Olympics. We especially encouraged participation and increased the rate of female athletes in national teams to over 45 percent. In other words, we have tried and are working to support you, young people, in every field including education, politics, sports, industry and technology. On this occasion, I wholeheartedly congratulate all our athletes, who are our source of pride with the medals they have brought to our country in different branches, and thank each of you.”
“NEW Türkiye, THE GREAT AND STRONG Türkiye WILL RISE ON YOUR SHOULDERS”

“Youth are both the seed of the future and the guarantee of our future. You are the future of this nation, you will rule this country tomorrow. Please never forget this, dear young people, the Republic of Türkiye is your homeland. This country, where a brave man lies in every inch, is your own homeland. Neither you nor the 86 million citizens of this country can be treated as stepchildren or pariahs by anyone who considers themselves superior to the nation. No one can point a finger at you in your own land, in your own homeland, because of your attire, belief, or political views. Please do not allow the privileged people of the old Türkiye and those who thrive on conflict and tension to sow discord among you. Please do not allow incompetent people whose only capital in politics is doomsaying to come between you and your dreams.”
Asking the young people to protect the country, nation and the ancient and deep-rooted values of the nation, Erdoğan said, “I ask you to protect and preserve our country’s 23-year achievements, which we have achieved as a result of very difficult struggles. I especially request you to raise the Türkiye entrusted to you to higher levels. As the President of Turkey, I trust you. May God Almighty help you.” he said.
At the end of his speech, President Erdoğan stated that he expressed his gratitude to the heads of state and government who celebrated his birthday by calling, publishing messages, sending flowers or visiting in person, the chairmen of political parties, including MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, members of parliament, and especially all the citizens who did not spare their prayers.
Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi stated at the iftar program with the families of martyrs and veterans held at the Grand National Assembly Ceremony Hall, hosted by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, that the Parliament is an exceptional place that keeps the memory of the heroes who died for independence alive forever.
Thanking the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Kurtulmuş, Çiftçi said, “This encompassing attitude of our Veteran Parliament, embracing the relics of our martyrs, is the strongest stance that reflects the conscience of our nation.” he said.
Emphasizing that the families of martyrs are the most precious trust, Çiftçi said that the martyrs sacrificed their lives to prevent the flag from falling to the ground.

Our Ministry of Family and Social Services is working on people over the age of 15. If a person opens an account, he must bear responsibility for it. We will give time to accounts used anonymously. For example, we will say either switch to a real account within 4 months or your account will be closed.” he said.
