Congratulatory messages poured in from both citizens and politicians on the occasion of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s 72nd birthday. Thousands of citizens shared their wishes on social media for President Erdoğan’s health and long life in his new year. In the posts, the expressions “Erdoğan is a man of the nation”, “72 years of service” and “A lifetime of service to the nation”, “Hope for the oppressed, inspiration for future generations” and “Happy New Year Chief” came to the fore.
HE MADE HISTORY
Born on February 26, 1954 in Kasımpaşa, Istanbul, President Erdoğan left his mark on Türkiye’s political history. Erdogan, who left his mark in every period in his political march, successfully emerged from the struggles he entered with the identity of “man of the nation” with the support of the nation.
Erdoğan, who was MSP Istanbul Youth Branch President in 1976 and Welfare Party Provincial President in 1985, was elected as Istanbul Mayor in 1994.
Erdoğan, who was imprisoned for 4 months for the poem he read in 1997, further strengthened his strong bond with the nation when the AK Party, which he founded with his friends in 2001, came to power in 2002.

BIRTHDAY GIFT FROM BAHÇELİ TO ERDOĞAN
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli celebrated President Erdoğan’s birthday. It was stated that Bahçeli gifted Erdoğan with a flower consisting of 72 roses and a specially designed painting for his birthday. In the table, the map of Islamic countries was processed by laser engraving method; It was reported that the name of Allah was written on the upper part and the name of “Our Prophet” was written on the lower part. President of the Constitutional Court Kadir Özkaya: The case response rate is 111 percent
Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya evaluated the 2025 activities to newspaper representatives: 64 thousand 321 applications were made. 71 thousand 175 of them have been concluded. Violation decisions were given in 5 thousand 268 cases. The application response rate was 111 percent
Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya made an evaluation of 2025 with Ankara representatives of media organizations. Making evaluations to journalists at the iftar program, Özkaya said, “We do not serve as a super appeal authority in individual application reviews.”
Stating that there is no “systemic problem” in the binding nature of the Constitutional Court’s decisions, Özkaya said that “differences in interpretation can come into play”.
Stating that they do not have the authority to enforce the violation decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Özkaya emphasized that 99.7 percent of the violation decisions of the Constitutional Court have been fulfilled.
Özkaya stated that the closure case file filed against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), whose indictment was accepted in mid-2021, has come to an end.

LAST YEAR, 5 THOUSAND 268 VIOLATION DECISIONS WERE MADE
Özkaya provided the following statistical information regarding the Constitutional Court’s Individual Application decisions:
In 2025, 64 thousand 321 individual applications were made to our Court. In contrast, 71 thousand 175 applications were finalized. In other words, the response rate for the applications was 111 percent.
Of the applications decided in 2025, violation decisions were made in 5 thousand 268 cases. There is no reasonable time violation among these. As of December 31, 2025, the number of violation decisions whose enforcement process has not yet been completed is 83. As of December 31, 2025, 99.7 percent of the violation decisions given by our Court have been fulfilled.
In 2025, a total of 277 applications were made, 51 of which were annulment cases and 226 were objection applications. On the other hand, 278 annulment cases and objection applications were decided.
Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu announced at the Turkish Grand National Assembly that they will undertake an important project within the scope of combating addiction. Noting that they will conduct addiction screening in schools and prisons between the ages of 12 and 18, Memişoğlu stated that a total of 4,879 children under the age of 18, 2,657 of whom were girls, were diagnosed with addiction. Memişoğlu stated that the Sancaktepe Living Village Project, supported by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s wife Emine Erdoğan, will spread throughout Türkiye. Memişoğlu, answering the questions of the MPs at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Investigation Commission on Children Driven to Crime, briefly stated the following:
HEALTH CAPACITY IS AN EXAMPLE TO THE WORLD: Today, Türkiye’s health capacity has become an example to the world in terms of accessibility. European countries are taking our health model, we are not taking it from them anymore.
ADDICTION SCREENING: We will conduct a screening in our schools, especially in adolescents, in the 12-18 age group, whether it is related to tobacco addiction, substance addiction or behavioral addiction. We will try to program it with the National Education. We are trying to plan to provide screening and counseling services.
TREATMENT IN PRISON: We are currently conducting a pilot study in two places in prisons. We start treatment for people who have been convicted of addiction while they are in prison, in prison, or while they are being sentenced, about the last year of their sentence. We are doing one of these as a pilot study in Bakırköy and one in Elazığ. In other words, after the addict was convicted in prison, we created an addiction center inside the last year of his execution and started treating them while they were in prison.
TREATMENT WITH THE FAMILY: Our aim is to treat children on an outpatient basis, together with their families. The most occupied ÇEMATEMs are the ÇEMATEMs of Erenköy Mental and Neurological Diseases Hospital, with an occupancy rate of 56 percent. In other words, we are trying to create a structure in this regard according to our familial and social sociology. Because we do not only treat the child, the family also needs to be treated. If the child is an addict, it is not only caused by the child, it is clear that the addiction is a problem in the family as well as in the environment.
4 THOUSAND 879 PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 18: 4 thousand 879 people under the age of 18 were diagnosed as “addict”. 2 thousand 657 of them are girls. The most common diagnosis was “polysubstance use”.
SANCAKTEPE MODEL WILL SPREAD: In order to strengthen the holistic rehabilitation approach in the fight against addiction, we are implementing the Sancaktepe Healthy Life Village Project with the support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s wife, Emine Erdoğan. In this center, which consists of 50 living villas and has a capacity of 200 beds, services for drug, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and digital addictions are offered under one roof. It will truly be Türkiye’s pride and a center that sets an example for the world. With its normal living spaces, social area, sports area… Think of it like a home, you live in your home and you adapt it to life. There is such a place in very few centers of the world. We haven’t officially opened it yet, but it has started accepting patients and functioning. We will expand this according to our success rate.
President Erdoğan said that the new Türkiye will rise on the shoulders of young people. Speaking at the iftar program attended by KYK students, national athletes and young people at Beştepe Nation Exhibition Hall, Erdoğan gave the following messages:
Throughout my half-century political life, I have always walked with young people. I valued being a fighting partner with young people. The political support of young people has been our most important motivation in every period of our struggle. We had young people with us in the Istanbul Mayoral elections, which we won despite all the odds. There were young people among the flood of people who saw us off as we went to prison because of a poem we read. When we founded the AK Party as the hope of the nation, young people were with us the most. We brought Türkiye to this day with you.
When I look at this beautiful community before me, I see the Turkish Century. We have only one goal, and that is to leave behind works that will be remembered as a pleasant sound in this eternal dome. We will continue to run with the love of the first day for the global power Türkiye, and we will be at the command and service of our nation. In recent years, Türkiye has been making breakthroughs that many countries follow with envy. It is carrying out a historical transformation in our country in every field. You, our youth, have an important share in the defense of the homeland as well as in the progress of our country. You, the young people, have worked hard in many fields, from UAVs and UCAVs to space studies.
I feel proud when I interview more than 3,500 young people in the defense industry. TEKNOFEST youth, who proudly listen to our National Anthem all over the world, is flowing noisily in its bed. We expanded our Youth Centers across the country.
We have made serious investments in the sports infrastructure of our country. We have tried and are trying to be with you, young people, and pave the way for you in every field, including education, politics, sports, industry and technology. I wholeheartedly congratulate our athletes who are a source of pride with the medals they brought to our country.
You are the future of this nation. You will rule this country tomorrow. The new Türkiye, the great and powerful Türkiye, will rise on your shoulders. I believe that each of you will serve our heavenly homeland with love and passion. The Republic of Türkiye is your homeland. This country, where a brave man lies in every inch, is your own homeland. All of you, each of you, are the true children of this nation. Neither you nor the 86 million citizens of this country can be treated as stepchildren or pariahs by anyone who considers themselves superior to the nation. No one can point a finger at you in your own country because of your clothing, beliefs, or political views.
Please do not allow those who thrive on conflict and tension in the old Türkiye to sow discord among you. I want each of you to protect your country, your nation, and the ancient and deep-rooted values of our beloved nation. I ask you to protect and protect our country’s 23-year achievements as a result of very tough struggles. As the President of Türkiye, I trust you.

‘Terror-free Türkiye’ message from Kurtulmuş: “We are about to cross a historical threshold”
“WE ARE ABOUT TO CROSS A HISTORICAL THRESHOLD”
Stating that Türkiye will leave the spiral of terror and violence behind, Kurtulmuş said, “We are starting a new era with the terrorist organization dissolving itself and laying down its weapons completely. We are about to cross a historical threshold. First of all, I would like to express that from the first day we started our work, in any step in this process, no step has ever been taken, will not be taken, and will not be allowed to be taken, that would harm the souls of our martyrs, do wrong to the memories of our veterans, or do injustice to them.” he said.
Stating that the imperialist powers that shattered the great world state, the Ottoman Empire, a century ago, created dozens of new countries from this geography, and made not only Turks, Kurds, Arabs, but even members of the same tribe citizens of different countries, Kurtulmuş drew attention to the border between Nusaybin-Kamışlı, Akçakale-Tel Abyad and Suruç-Ayn el Arap.
Kurtulmuş made the following evaluations:
“They divided people not only according to their race, but also as tribes and families with the artificial borders they established. No matter what they did, they could not do anything, they could not make the people of this region enemies of each other. There was no fight or war between Turks with Kurds, Kurds with Arabs, Arabs with anyone else. Again, the people of this region know that ‘Muslims and believers are only brothers. Find peace between brothers.’ “The brothers found their own peace and moved to a new phase to revive unity, solidarity and brotherhood in this region, pushing aside all separation scenarios throughout history.”
“THE WORK HAS REACHED A MATURE POINT”
Emphasizing that the duty of Türkiye, the flagship of the region and the rising star of the new world, is to first fortify the inner castle and then establish the brotherhood of all the people of the region so that they will never be separated again, Kurtulmuş said that the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey is exactly the result of this ideal, this understanding, this historical accumulation.
Providing information about the National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Kurtulmuş stated that the commission includes people from different segments of society, as well as families of martyrs and veterans.
Sharing some of the memories expressed at the meetings, Kurtulmuş said:
“In one of our meetings, the mothers of martyrs and the ‘Mothers of Peace’ sat, one on one half of the same table, the other on the other half. The words that both sides said were: ‘We buried our children. From now on, we do not want to bury our children, we want the weapons to be buried in the ground.’ Perhaps this was one of the sentences that became the motto of all commission work. In another session, a veteran brother made a very emotional speech. At one point during his speech, he took off his artificial eye, put it in the palm of his hand and said, ‘I was injured in the fight against terrorism and lost my eye. I martyred my brother in my arms, but if all this will be left behind, if mothers will never cry again, if not a single martyr will fall on the soil of this country again, if not a single person will die, I too want peace, I also want the guns to be silent. ‘I want terrorism to never occur again in this country.’ It was an incredibly emotional scene.
Thank God, the studies have reached a mature point and a report has been produced. This report emerged as a compromise text approved by all parties, which evaluates and pays attention to all the sensitivities of you, our martyrs’ relatives and veterans, to the maximum extent, which our entire nation in Türkiye can easily adopt. “From now on, our expectation is that terrorism, weapons, conflict and violence will no longer be allowed in these lands, that the basis for this will not remain obvious, and that we will be able to build a Türkiye in which people’s minds and hearts fully assimilate the peaceful environment.”
“TOGETHER, WE WILL GO TO A MUCH STRONGER TOMORROW”
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Kurtulmuş underlined that there has never been a war not only in Türkiye but also among the peoples in the region, and said, “Although it is a country that has paid such a heavy price for terrorism, not a Turk stoned a Kurd’s house in any district of the country, nor did a Kurd say a harsh word against a Turk. The issue was an armed uprising by terrorist organizations.” he said.
Now the organization says, “I am laying down my weapons, I see that there is no point to go to with arms again, I see that the ideology that established the organization is no longer possible to continue itself, in this sense I am surrendering my weapons and ending my organizational activities.” Kurtulmuş stated that they will continue to work diligently and sincerely to ensure that, with the detection and registration by the security units, the necessary legal regulations can be made in the future and terrorism can be completely removed to the dusty shelves of history.
Kurtulmuş continued his words as follows:
“I consider it my duty to say this here, as someone who has attended many martyrs’ funerals, I have seen once again at every martyr’s funeral why this nation is a great nation. Even though he lost his child, his wife, I did not hear a word of rebellion at a single martyr’s funeral, not a single martyr’s relative asked, ‘Where did this come from, my God, why did you see me, why did you give me such a trouble, a calamity? I did not see him in a rebellious state against God Almighty. All the relatives of the martyrs said, “Thanks to the homeland, I lost my son, but we all feel sorry.” If it were not for your consciousness, our country would not be in this situation today. May God bless all of you and all the families of martyrs and veterans you represent.
This nation will never lose its spirit of unity, solidarity, brotherhood and solidarity, and this spirit of solidarity and brotherhood that we demonstrate in this country will be an example to all our surrounding countries, the entire Islamic world and even all humanity. It is also a blessing from God that this beautiful example is being realized at the beginning of a period in which we, as the Turkish nation, will write history again. “Hopefully, the effort spent on terrorism and violence, the lives lost, the time lost, all of these will now be spent on development, improvement, breakthrough, and taking Türkiye forward in a stronger way, and we will go to a much stronger tomorrow together, shoulder to shoulder, side by side.”
In his speech, Kurtulmuş commemorated Air Pilot Major İbrahim Bolat, who was martyred in the crash of the F-16 plane taking off from the 9th Main Jet Base Command in Balıkesir.
