Kurtulmuş, who performed the Eid prayer at the Hagia Sophia Mosque, greeted the citizens as he left.

Congratulating the members of the press waiting for him at the exit of the mosque, Kurtulmuş wished that the holiday would bring peace, well-being, friendship and brotherhood to both the country, the Islamic world and all humanity.

Kurtulmuş said, “We sincerely hope that this situation in our region, which has almost turned into a fire pit, will dissipate as soon as possible and that this war, which started with America-Israel’s attack on Iran, will be ended as soon as possible. This is an unsustainable situation. It is a great conflict that is about to throw the whole region and the whole world into the fire pit. We wish this to end with all our heart and, as Turkey, we strive to establish peace.” he said.

Kurtulmuş noted that one of his biggest sorrows on the Eid morning was the closure of the Masjid al-Aqsa for Eid prayers, and continued as follows:

“This is the ultimate point of oppression. This is an unacceptable situation. This is no longer tolerable for the Islamic world. This shame is probably enough as the biggest shame for us Muslims, who have a large population of 2 billion. Our hearts are truly crying. The fact that Muslims were turned away from the gates of the Masjid al-Aqsa on such a day of peace and well-being, on a day of Eid, is the culmination of oppression. “We strongly condemn the oppression. We invite the whole world to put an end to this insult and injustice against the members of a religion and the Muslim world, which has a large population. We hope that this Eid will be the last Eid that Al-Aqsa Mosque spends in an oppressed state.”

Kurtulmuş said, “From Hagia Sophia, from the shadow of this Topkapı Palace, which is the heart of Istanbul, the heart of the Ottoman World State, we convey our Eid congratulations to our Palestinian brothers who are oppressed in Jerusalem, Gaza, and everywhere in the West Bank, and we express our love and feelings of solidarity with them on behalf of the 86 million citizens of the Republic of Turkey.” he said.

Kurtulmuş, who prayed that God would grant him many holidays in health and well-being, asked God to bring the nation to stronger and more peaceful days in peace and prosperity, brotherhood and unity.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Turkish Grand National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Fuat Oktay, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Local Governments Chairman Mustafa Demir, Turkish Grand National Assembly Turkey-Palestine Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman and AK Party Istanbul Deputy Hasan Turan accompanied Kurtulmuş.

After the statement, Kurtulmuş took photos with members of the press and left the mosque.

Ramadan Feast message from the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Kurtulmuş:

Published

on

In his message shared on his social media account with the phrase “Happy Eid”, Kurtulmuş noted the following:

“While we are experiencing the joy of reaching the Eid al-Fitr, we are also remembering our responsibilities again. We are obliged to draw a more fair, faithful and determined will from this blessed climate that disciplines our souls for a month and accustoms us to giving and sharing. In this direction, we see the commission process and its aftermath, proceeding with national feelings, as a serious area of responsibility for our future. Our country is growing brotherhood within the country, deepening democracy and making politics more at the service of the idea of a common homeland.” It is in a period when it presents itself strongly.

In the international system, we are faced with a grave situation that wounds the conscience of humanity. The genocide that took place in Gaza showed the great decay of international institutions. In such a period, we are obliged to both strengthen our internal front and maintain our principled stance on the side of the oppressed. Our desire to live together with friendly and brotherly peoples in our region is our strongest strength. “We will continue our pioneering efforts to ensure that the Iran-centered war does not turn the region and the whole world into a wider conflict zone.”

Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş pointed out that this holiday should be a means of strengthening the common future and moving forward in the consciousness of national solidarity, and said, “I hope that the Eid al-Fitr will bring goodness to our nation, our heartland and all humanity, and I congratulate the holiday of our beloved nation and the Islamic world with my most heartfelt feelings.” he said.

“I HOPE THIS FESTIVAL WILL GIVE STRENGTH TO OUR UNITY AND TOGETHER”

Wishing God Almighty to accept all the prayers performed in the month of Ramadan, Yılmaz said, “May the blessings and blessings of Ramadan spread throughout our lives. These are exceptional days. These are the days when we get together with relatives and neighbors, remember the elders and make the younger ones happy. I hope that this holiday will strengthen our unity, solidarity and brotherhood. We are happy and joyful about the holiday, but on the other hand, unfortunately, the war and the war in our region.” We welcome the Eid with bitterness in the shadow of oppression. Especially the obstructions to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the events in Gaza and the West Bank, and the displacement of more than 1 million people in Lebanon are the events that make us sad and feel sad. Hopefully, God Almighty will show us the days when these will be eliminated and Jerusalem will welcome the Eid in a much different way. “They are also betraying their heritage,” he said.

“A JUST PEACE IS FOR THE BENEFIT OF EVERYONE”

Stating that there is a war as a result of the attacks on Türkiye’s neighbor Iran, Yılmaz said, “On the one hand, we see that there is a risk of spreading to the whole region. We want this fire to go out in our region as soon as possible and water will be shed. As the Republic of Turkey, we always say that wars and conflicts are of no benefit to anyone. A just peace is for the benefit of everyone. The alternative to diplomacy is blood, tears and destruction. Therefore, I reiterate as a call to end this war as soon as possible and return to diplomacy. As the Republic of Turkey, we also say that there is a war as a result of the attacks on Turkey’s neighbor Iran. “We express at every opportunity that we are ready to make any contribution to these issues, our President, at the leadership level, and all our institutions continue to make efforts in this direction,” he said.

“WE WILL ALL WALK TOGETHER TO THE DAYS WHEN TERROR IS REMOVED FROM THE AGENDA”

Vice President Yılmaz continued his words as follows:

“While our region is on fire, thank God, Turkey is an island of stability. We need to know the value of this inner peace very well. In this context, I would like to express once again that a terrorism-free Türkiye is very valuable in order to strengthen our internal front and strengthen our peace and brotherhood. I believe that especially the recent events in our region have shown us all how meaningful a terrorism-free Türkiye is. I hope we will all walk together to the days when terrorism is off the agenda and development and democracy are strengthened.”
