Tree Inc. Confession of bribery from manager
In the last hearing on the eighth day of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality trial, where the corruption of the century, 161 billion public losses, and bribery and corruption in 143 actions were discussed, Ağaç A.Ş. General Manager Ali Sukas started his defense. At yesterday’s hearing, which started after the 4-day holiday, it was seen that at least 50 seats were empty in the section reserved for the audience. Businessman Ahmet Sarı had to pay a total of 232.5 million TL in bribes to Ekrem İmamoğlu’s advisors and relatives in order to receive his due payment from IMM. Ahmet Sarı, who testified during the investigation phase, noted that Sukas called him and requested 10 vehicles to use in the election campaign during the CHP Istanbul 2nd Region parliamentary candidacy process for his wife, Berna Sukas, and said, “I could not refuse the offer due to our ongoing work and receivables.” It was revealed that 10 vehicles with CHP logos were delivered to Berna Sukas, wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality bureaucrat Ali Sukas, who is a parliamentary candidate.

‘WE WERE LATE, WE FOUND 8-10 VEHICLES’
Sukas made confessions of this situation in his defense at yesterday’s hearing. In his defense, Sukas said, “I will express it with all my sincerity, there was a lot of attack from here. We did not make any preliminary preparations for my wife’s election campaign in the 2023 elections, we were late. I am at peace in conscience. We needed small commercial vehicles to work in the election. I talked about this issue with Ahmet Sarı (businessman) and he said ‘We found 8-10’. We talked about the price. There was 1 month until the election. He quoted a 1 month rental fee for all of them around 180-200 thousand. “We agreed,” he said.

I AM READY TO PAY THIS PUNISHMENT
Stating that they wanted to pay when they delivered the vehicles after the election, but they were told ‘Let us support you, let us contribute’, Sukas said, “If Ahmet Sarı looks me in the eye and says ‘I cannot get what I owe from Ağaç AŞ. That’s why I had to pay these,’ I am ready to pay this penalty.”

‘WE COULD NOT PAY OUR DEBT’
Sukas continued his defense by saying that Sarı said to him, “We will handle it”: “I repeated it 4-5 times. When we handed over the vehicles after the election, I asked for the account number. He said, ‘We took care of that, let’s support our sister, she couldn’t be elected anyway. You are so worn out’. There is such an open, sincere relationship between us.”
LACK OF IQ LEVEL!
The court president gave İmamoğlu, who wanted to ask a question to Ali Sukas, the right to speak. However, İmamoğlu targeted the prosecution before the question. Prosecutor’s decision against Ağaç A.Ş. İmamoğlu, who called the comparative table of money outflows related to the year ‘a lie’, said to the presiding judge, “The tables are intended to be complete garbage. This table is wrong. I say that the table presented by the prosecution is a lie. Even with a secondary school IQ, he would have been better prepared.” He made insulting remarks to the prosecutor.
HE CALLED HELP CARDS ‘TRADITION’
Sukas answered the Presiding Judge’s question about aid cards as follows: “Traditionally, during Ramadan, companies bring whatever they want and leave it to us. There would not be a record with figures regarding this. Since there is nothing systematic, there is no such record.”

Selcuk Yilmaz

The forum in Istanbul will be preparation for COP31
Stating that Istanbul will be one of the most important preparation stops on the road to COP31, Zero Waste Foundation President and COP31 High Level Climate Champion Samed Ağırbaş said, “For us, one of the most important outcomes of the forum will be the final declaration. It is expected that 183 countries will sign the final declaration of the Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul this year. This declaration will not remain in Istanbul; it will also be carried to the COP31 process in Antalya. Therefore, the forum will include zero waste in the global climate agenda.” “It will be a strategic preparation platform for a strong entry,” he said. Saying that the Zero Waste Foundation should not be seen only as an environmental foundation, Ağırbaş said, “Our main goal is to transform the Zero Waste Movement, which started in 2017 under the leadership of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, into a permanent, corporate and global structure.”
Saying that zero waste does not only mean recycling bins, sorting systems or waste management for them, Ağırbaş said: “We see zero waste as an issue of using resources correctly, preventing waste, taking responsibility towards nature and building a new culture of life. The forum is a global move for the future of the world, beyond a three-day meeting, at the end of which we will publish a declaration and countries will sign it. The topics to be discussed in Istanbul will be carried to COP31 to be held in Antalya in November.” In other words, Istanbul will be one of the most important preparation stops on the road to COP31. So far, the issue of zero waste has never been discussed as a main agenda item. Topics such as emission reduction, financing, energy conversion and adaptation have come to the fore. Of course, these are very important, but now we need to see that the basis of the climate crisis is the misuse of resources, waste, consumption habits and waste production. Therefore, it is a historical step that the issue of zero waste will be discussed as one of the main agenda topics.

A giant step of 5.6 billion dollars in renewable energy
President Erdoğan spoke at the “2025 Renewable Energy Investments Mass Opening Ceremony” in Ankara:
Türkiye’S ENERGY CROSSROADS: Türkiye’s position as the energy center and crossroads of its region is getting stronger. The Iran-centered crisis has reinforced Türkiye’s critical role in global energy supply. It is clearly seen that Türkiye is the center of gravity of its region in the field of energy, especially in the light of current developments. Both the articles recently published in the international press and people who know the energy sector very well emphasize the strategic value of our country, which is increasing day by day.
THE ENERGY SUPPLY ISSUE IS A NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE: The Russia-Ukraine war and the closure of Hormuz have taught us this: Ensuring energy supply security is not only a matter of development, but also a matter of sovereignty and national security. Another point that this crisis reminds us of is the importance of investments in alternative energy sources other than fossil fuels. As you know; As industrialization, urbanization, population and technology use increase, the need for energy also increases. We all know very well that energy demand will increase further in the future. It is predicted that the electricity consumption of artificial intelligence-focused data centers alone will double in the next 5 years.
OUR COUNTRY’S ENERGY NEED HAS DOUBLED IN THE LAST 20 YEARS: As Türkiye, like all other rapidly developing countries, our energy demand is increasing year by year. Our country’s energy needs have doubled in the last 20 years. In 2025, our electricity consumption increased by 2.1 percent compared to the previous year. Although it changes every year, we have an energy import bill of between 60 and 100 billion dollars.
Türkiye IS ONE OF THE LARGEST ECONOMIES: Turkey is the 16th largest economy in the world and the 6th largest economy in Europe. We are also a country that has grown at an average rate of 5.3 percent in the last 23 years. Hopefully, we want to continue this momentum in 2026. The goal of our “National Energy and Mining Policy” and our “More Local, More Renewable” strategy is to reset our foreign dependency in energy.
WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE MARGINALS WITH ENVIRONMENTAL MASKS: We are determined to realize the great potential, regardless of the obstruction efforts of the marginals with environmental masks. Just as we did not surrender to the wandering vandals who set fire to our streets using the excuse of relocating 3-5 trees 13 years ago, we will not surrender to those who try to sabotage our renewable energy investments today.
THE ONLY AGENDA OF THE MAIN OPPOSITION IS THE FIGHT FOR SEATS
If you pay attention; These developments, these figures are not on the agenda of our main opposition at all. They are neither interested in the country’s affairs; nor do they follow what is happening in the world. Their agenda includes only seat fights, insults and demonstrations; Those who were declared “heroes” yesterday are being labeled “traitors” today. At one point, they treated the same former presidential candidates who “came running when they said come” and lynched him for days. Even though it was cruel and cruel, he avoided being “traitor and collaborator”; Now it has been replaced by someone else. Tomorrow, those who are applauded today will probably be subjected to similar accusations. Unless this unhealthy mood that has captured the main opposition changes, it seems that everyone will be targeted one day. Unless the distorted mentality of those who see politics as a “career and source of income” rather than a means of serving the public changes, new ones will probably be added to these scenes of shame tomorrow. What is happening is, of course, an internal matter of the main opposition party. It doesn’t concern us. We are content to watch all these discussions, which we find unsuitable for Turkish politics, from a “safe following distance”. In particular, we do not address the taunts of “cartoon types” who go beyond the limits of politeness and become angry like a child who has been given cotton candy. But I also want it to be known that; No one has the right to cast doubt on the reputation of the political institution and the quality of Turkish democracy. Marginalizing politics will not help anyone.
