A more just world is also possible in economy
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the 3rd Global Islamic Economy Summit held at Istanbul Financial Center Halkbank Headquarters:
Our determination that “the world is bigger than five” covers not only the international conjuncture where rules and values are ignored, but also economic and commercial relations based on inequality and exploitation. When we say “A more just world is possible”, we also express that we are not helpless as the human family and that we are not condemned to a single system in both economy and international relations. We must further intensify our criticism and objections to the current global financial architecture and make more efforts to implement concrete alternatives. The more we adopt the principles of Islamic economics and make this model our focus and starting point, the faster we will reach our goals. You know, first of all, we have a concept called abundance. Blessing, as our late Erbakan Hodja defines it, means believing that one lira of earnings obtained through halal means is greater than two liras of earnings obtained through haram means. Therefore, abundance is a concept that cannot be understood with capitalist economic theories.
THERE IS NO ABUNDANCE WHERE THERE IS INTEREST
There is no abundance where there is interest. There is no abundance where there is exploitation, injustice, ethical and immoral competition. Abundance cannot find a place for itself in an environment where only profit maximization and consumption ambition are taken into account and social benefit and justice are excluded. Islamic economics; It is formed around values such as justice, morality, virtue, altruism, risk sharing, sustainability and social welfare. It is based not only on economic development, but also on strengthening the social structure and protecting the environment. It takes care of charity, aid, solidarity and protecting disadvantaged groups. As Muslims, it should be our primary mission to explain these values to global economic actors and to amend, repair and revise the current system in the light of these characteristics. Of course, for this, we must sincerely believe in the concept of abundance, and more importantly, we must personally experience and keep alive the qualities represented by abundance, starting from our homes, streets and businesses. Participation finance, an integral part of Islamic economics, is a more fair and secure model not only for Muslims but for the whole world. I see participation finance, which covers areas such as banking, capital markets, insurance, savings finance and social finance, as a strong structure that can contribute to the construction of a new global financial architecture. We consider the participation finance system as a strategic element for Türkiye’s economic development and financial stability. The fact that one of the two supporting pillars of the Istanbul Financial Center is fintech and the other is participation finance is a clear indication of the importance we attach to the development of this system.
STRONG GROWTH CONTINUES
Dear friends, I find it useful to express this with great pleasure. The number of institutions and transaction volume in the participation finance field in Türkiye continues to increase steadily. Participation banking, with an asset size exceeding 4.7 trillion liras, continues its strong growth performance by increasing its share in the sector to 9.5 percent. Our 10 participation banks, 3 of which are digital, are currently increasing their weight in the system with their diversified product and service portfolios.

INVESTMENT IN Türkiye IS ATTRACTIVE
We are working hard to make our country a strong connection point where investment, production and financial instruments come together. With the comprehensive legal regulation that came into force yesterday, we have implemented a competitive incentive program that will increase the investment attractiveness of our country. We extended the period of the 100 percent corporate tax base reduction applied for the income earned by participation financial institutions in the Istanbul Financial Center from financial service exports until 2047. We increased the financial activity fee exemption from 5 years to 20 years.
DEBT AND INTEREST BASED SYSTEM NEEDS SURGERY
As the Islamic world, we have been struggling with many crises simultaneously on different fronts in recent years. Israeli atrocities in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem still continue despite the ceasefire. The Zionist massacre network is expanding its reckless occupation and invasion policy from the south of Lebanon to the inner city of Beirut day by day. The Iran-centered war negatively affects not only our sister countries in the Gulf, but also the whole world, with passages in the Strait of Hormuz coming to a halt. The climate of trust and stability in our geography; Unfortunately, it is being destroyed more and more due to the effects of war, crisis, sibling rivalry and uncertainty. We are living in days where a global rupture has occurred, especially in the fields of economy and finance, and the tremors are felt in almost every country, regardless of the level of development. Global indebtedness reached $350 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. How sustainable this debt burden is is a serious question that needs to be answered for the future of the global economy. You cannot treat conditions that require surgery with dressings. After the 2008 crisis, the global financial architecture based on debt and interest preferred to sweep the problem under the carpet with palliative steps rather than eliminating the root causes of the crisis.
3 PARTICIPATION BANKES WILL JOIN THEIR FORCES
We transformed Emlak Bank, one of the most established institutions of our Republic, into Emlak Katılım with the regulation we made in 2018. We aim to offer Emlak Katılım to the public. Hopefully, we will enable our nation to directly participate in this strong growth in the coming period. Another move we will make will be the merger of Ziraat Katılım, Vakıf Katılım and Halk Katılım. By combining the forces of these three participation banks, a great synergy will emerge and hopefully the sector will gain a different momentum.
THOSE WHO DIRECT THE FUTURE MEET AT THIS SUMMIT
The 3rd World Islamic Economy Summit, held at the ISTANBUL Financial Center, brought together leaders, academics, investors, financial institutions and decision makers who shape the future of the Islamic economy. At the opening of the summit with the theme “Capital in Islamic Economy: Structuring Wealth for Sustainable Development”, Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AlBaraka Forum, and Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid made a speech.

Infrastructure went bankrupt in Ankara, Sözcü target surprised!
The heavy rain that hit Ankara last Saturday once again confirmed that the CHP Metropolitan Municipality was failing in infrastructure. The floods, which especially affected the districts of Mamak and Keçiören, gave the citizens and tradesmen of Ankara a difficult time.
Following the disgrace, Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan reminded that the infrastructure responsibility lies directly with the Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ) and stated that the municipal teams are on the alert in the field. However, the subsidiary Sözcü newspaper, which tried to cover up the infrastructure weakness of the CHP administration, launched a perception operation by targeting Özarslan’s statements. The response to the media, which tried to exploit Özarslan’s thank you post to ASKİ last year, was not delayed.
HARD REACTION TO FONDAS MEDIA MANIPULATION
In his statement published under the title “Announced to the Public”, President Mesut Özarslan slammed the “excuse-finding” tactics of the supporting media and social media trolls. Emphasizing that they are grateful for the right work, but will not turn a blind eye to the suffering of the people, Özarslan said:
“The statement I made following the images of the flood yesterday had the aim of both sharing our work with our nation and revealing the reasons for the disruptions with public stance and public maturity. After our statement, they attacked through manipulative news sources such as Sözcü Newspaper and troll accounts, using the ‘excuse’ method they are very good at and publishing the thank you post I made last year. The post I made last year was very clear: I thanked ASKİ for the infrastructure works started in Keçiören. Because whoever does the right thing is better off thanking them.” “I have no hesitation, but it is our responsibility to our nation to criticize and share when we see shortcomings.”
“A WHOLE YEAR HAS PASSED BY, WHAT DID THE CHP ADMINISTRATION DO?”
Stating that the perception is being carried out under the name of infrastructure move and that no progress has been achieved in the past year, Özarslan revealed the inadequacy of the CHP administration with the following words:
We said, “The infrastructure work that has been initiated is valuable, we thank those who contributed.” A whole year has passed. So what changed? In the rain that fell yesterday, the streets were again submerged in water, our citizens were victimized again, and our tradesmen were heartbroken again. “So, no progress has been made in those studies that were initiated.”
“This means that there are serious deficiencies in infrastructure, lack of grids, manhole cleaning, preparation and crisis management. Those who change the agenda by discussing what was talked about in the past and what is talked about today will one day be embarrassed!”
“INCOMPATIBLE STAFFING AT ASKI IS VICTIMIZING THE PEOPLE OF ANKARA”
Emphasizing that they think about the life and property safety of the people of Keçiören, not politics, Özarslan concluded his statement by pointing out the incompetent structure in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and ASKİ:
“Our problem is Keçiören, not politics. Our problem is our citizens who look out the window with fear when it rains. Yesterday we thanked for the goodwill. Today we criticize the work that was not done. Tomorrow, we will thank whoever does the right thing, and we will stand against whoever does not do their duty.
I repeat: Negativities in the infrastructure are experienced due to unqualified staffing and unplanned management approach in ASKİ. This is the truth whether you accept it or not. The people of Ankara face this reality every time it rains. “At least for the future, my only hope is that those who have the responsibility of managing the city will face this reality and do what is necessary.”

Statements from Ömer Çelik after MYK
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements after the MYK.
Highlights from Ömer Çelik’s speech:
Our president made comprehensive evaluations of domestic and foreign policy. Two main issues were discussed today. The first is the event on our anniversary on August 14th. First of all, we congratulate the sultans of the net. They brought a magnificent championship, we are proud of them.
“WE ARE GOING TO A NEW STAGE”
We have reached a new stage in terrorism-free Türkiye. This stage was the emergence of a legal basis for disarmament. We hold many meetings. It is a very comprehensive process with political and legal dimensions. The will so far is carried out as a state policy, with the work of a commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, under the chairmanship of our Parliament Speaker, and the instructions of our President. Within this dynamism, nothing has been done to cast a shadow on the values of our state. What comes next is important. We are at the finer workmanship stage. The matter is just beginning. Creating a legal basis is important, but the political atmosphere created is also important. Contributions are very valuable in this process, and so is constructive criticism. Destructive criticism is extremely harmful.
“WE SHOULD BE JUDICIAL TO PROVOCATIONS”
We have undertaken strong reforms in the most difficult times. The greatest appreciation and greatest value belongs to the members of our nation. Our country has been the target of provocations that try to sow discord among the nation by calling them Turkish, Kurdish, Alevi and Sunni. He faced many operations. In the face of these provocations, not a single sensible individual looked askance at the other. The real heroes are this reasonable majority and foresight of our nation. Now we see this common sense in all segments of society, regardless of affiliation. Our names may be different, but we all have the surname Türkiye.
We must produce and embrace an approach that takes all these into consideration, goes beyond narrow neighborhood ideologies, and speaks in a constructive language. When we look at our nearby geography, we see that Türkiye is positively differentiated. There is the ballot box, there is democracy, the way for doing politics is open. These are great values. Now that these are large values, new dimensions have been added.
“THE POINT WE ARE NOW IS A MORE CRITICAL POINT”
We see that the institutions of high-capacity states that have achieved these have actually been emptied and democracy has turned into a propaganda activity. We must take a stronger approach to protecting these values. What is needed most in a terrorism-free Türkiye are approaches that will add more oxygen to the system. This is not the time for propaganda. It is time to reach each of our citizens with the right language. It is time to put forward a political approach where the only color is citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye. Avoiding extremes should be the most basic principle. Avoiding these extremes is something everyone should pay attention to. We said that no matter what, we would keep this issue on the main road and prevent it from straying into side roads. All parties participating in the commission in the Parliament and those using positive language contributed greatly to this. The point we have reached now is the more critical point. The lever has now lifted it into place and it is necessary to put it into orbit.
“THE NEED TO BE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO PROOF EFFORTS”
The spirit of unity and solidarity of the brotherhood on the streets in the most troubled times needs to be reflected in these issues. It is necessary to be extremely sensitive in the face of some proof efforts. There is no compromise on the qualities of the state and the sensitivity of the nation. A point will be reached where all our citizens will find themselves on better ground.
“TODAY IS THE TIME TO TALK BY SHAKING HAND, NOT WITH CLOSED FISTS”
There are some imperialist focuses. There may be extreme approaches in everyone’s own street, but when we meet in Cumhuriyet Square, we will see that there is a larger scale there. Today is the time to talk by shaking hands, not with clenched fists. If we can talk about difficult issues by shaking hands, it will be the beginning of walking arm in arm towards the historical horizons ahead. Our preparations for a terror-free Türkiye continue. We have meetings all the time. Sometimes we hold meetings in the morning and evening.
“ISRAEL IS TRYING TO GAZAALIZE THE WEST BANK”
We follow the developments in the West Bank with sensitivity. Israel is trying to turn the West Bank into Gaza. The homeland of the Palestinians is being invaded before the eyes of the world. This is dangerous for the whole world. Even countries that think they are far from these crises tomorrow will have to face these crises one day tomorrow.
“WE CURSE THEIR ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE MASCID AND AQSA”
Netanyahu and his genocidal network are a big problem for the whole world. In order to protect international law, the first thing to do is to take concrete steps against this network. We condemn their attitude towards Al-Aqsa Mosque. They do this to churches too. This is a genocide network that appears to act as a hate network against all temples.
“WE ARE HONORED TO WALK WITH OUR PRESIDENT”
We will share our logo that we prepared specifically for the 25th anniversary of our party. Faruk Acar is making a presentation. In line with the decisions taken, we will share with our nation uninterruptedly until the date we will hold our event. Our corporate identity preparations will be shared with you. We are honored to walk with our President.
We are closely witnessing many of our President’s struggles, both known and unknown to the public. Today, in the presence of his nation, he alone reflects the pride of a quarter of a century with the whiteness of his forehead. He has encountered many attempts targeting him since July 15, which we have not shared. As a man of the nation, he has done his duty in the presence of the nation, in the presence of history, and continues to do so. The services we provided to our nation from August 1 to August 14 will be shared with various visuals. Loyalty meetings will be held in our provincial headquarters.
“IT WAS ONE OF THE LARGEST MEETINGS IN NATO HISTORY”
The ATO meeting continues to make a splash in the world. I attended almost all NATO meetings with our President. It was perhaps one of the largest meetings in NATO history. Those who say that NATO is brain dead have started to produce performances such as how to protect NATO. The critical issue here was whether to attend the summit or not. He said, “I wasn’t going to attend, but I am attending because of President Erdoğan’s invitation.” Perhaps it was going to be a summit where important leaders did not attend, but our president’s hosting prevented this. We saw in the meetings of our esteemed president that wherever there is an issue in the world, our president has become a reference by turning to us and asking how you can contribute to it, what is your evaluation, you would like to get it.
“WE REJECT THIS DECISION”
Our Turkish minority brothers in Western Thrace are suffering great injustice. Greek authorities make decisions that make their lives difficult on various occasions. Now they have decided to close 8 primary schools. We reject this decision. The number of primary schools belonging to minorities decreased to 76. When we went there, we saw it with our own eyes. This is not true. Mitsotakis says he is tired of these tensions. It is not right to do this, especially in education. Great powers are here today, gone tomorrow. At the end of the day, we will continue to share the Aegean Sea with Greece. Let’s sit at the table with the spirit of helping each other.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROTECT SYRIA’S SOVEREIGNTY AND TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY”
After the fall of the Assad regime, Syria seeks stability. When you look at it from here, it is extremely valuable that the public assembly session was held for the first time under the leadership of Shara. We will continue to protect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. There is no problem that the European Union can solve by appointing a special representative to Southern Cyprus. We will pass this law before the parliament closes. The important thing is to carry out work in a qualified manner with fine workmanship. We will strive to get our basic will out before the Supreme Assembly is closed. There is no problem that the European Union can solve by appointing a special representative to Southern Cyprus. We will pass this law before the parliament closes. The important thing is to carry out work in a qualified manner with fine workmanship. We will strive to get our basic will out before the Supreme Assembly is closed.
NEW PARTY EVALUATION
There used to be a TV series called the Twilight Zone. People in CHP are starting to look like this. CHP’s internal conflict continues with other formulas. Political parties are indispensable for democracies. First, what is its contribution to the field of legitimate politics? Secondly, what is its contribution to clean politics? When all these events started, we said don’t get us involved. This is something that emerges from the attitudes of two different wings regarding these scandals. Now the debate continues between two CHP-based parties.

BREAKING NEWS: MHP leader Bahçeli: It is Kılıçdaroğlu’s natural right to express his views
Regarding the New Party founded by Özgür Özel, who left the CHP, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli said, “All parties, especially Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and Mr. Özel, must act within the framework of common sense, maintain mutual respect and take the political struggle beyond personal showdowns.” he said.
In his written statement regarding the New Party, Bahçeli emphasized that the State of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation are above political parties, and underlined that the Turkish nation is at the center of politics and above all political structures. Stating that no intra-party struggle, no seat conflict and no personal resentment can be considered more important than Türkiye’s common future, Bahçeli made the following evaluations: “The Republican People’s Party is one of the deep-rooted institutions of Turkish political life, founded by our first President and eternal Commander-in-Chief, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It is clear that there are deep differences between the Nationalist Movement Party and the Republican People’s Party in terms of ideas, politics and worldview at the point reached today. These differences are natural of democratic life.” This result is of course valid for other parties that are the motifs of our political life. The existence of differences cannot be considered a sign of weakness. On the contrary, every thought that remains within national borders and democratic legitimacy has never been in a colorless and soulless ground where all parties repeat the same words. Democratic life is a common place where different voices are heard and different ideas compete in the presence of the nation. “It is a great national consensus where the will is demonstrated. Making political differences an excuse for conflict will not serve Türkiye. Carrying the separation to the level of hostility, poisoning the competition with a sense of revenge and turning intra-party conflicts into social tension will harm the reputation of Turkish politics.” Bahçeli expressed his opinion that it is CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s natural right to express the injustices he thinks he has suffered, to take legal action and to express his views on the future of his party, of which he has been chairman for many years.
“REOPENING OLD ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BENEFIT ANYONE”
Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu has assumed responsibility in Turkish politics for many years and received the democratic support of millions of citizens, Bahçeli said, “It is not right that the evaluations against him turn into a campaign of insult, belittlement and discrediting. However, it will not benefit anyone to carry all the resentments of the past to today’s political arena, to reopen old scores at every opportunity and to constantly make wounds bleed. If politics becomes an area of showdown where anger never subsides, the competitive environment, whose framework is drawn with red and sharp lines of democracy, will increasingly turn into hostility.” “Reckoning the past should not turn into a search for revenge that holds the future hostage.” made his assessment. Bahçeli reminded that New Party Chairman Özgür Özel took part in Turkish political life both with his political work under the umbrella of CHP and with his post as chairman of the recently established New Party, and that there were 91 deputies who trusted Özel’s policies and a potential electorate who wished him well. Expressing that they do not want Özel’s political personality to be eroded in daily discussions, Bahçeli said, “Just as Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu’s rights were legally respected, Mr. Özel’s knowledge and position should also be respected. Turkish politics does not allow a shallow understanding that concedes one right while sacrificing the other.” made the statement.
