Türkiye is strong on the field and at the table – Breaking News

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) 39th Ordinary Financial General Assembly and Respect for Masters Award Ceremony in Istanbul:

In the climate of uncertainty that the global economy is going through, our country’s greatest chance is the environment of stability and trust that we have achieved by paying heavy prices under our governments since 2002. The existence of an environment of stability and trust makes it easier to solve any problem or to find a solution, no matter how difficult the conditions. Moreover, the presence of experienced, visionary and well-coordinated staff in Türkiye; It gives our country a historical advantage in managing all these global and regional challenges. While Turkey benefits from the asymmetric opportunities offered by stability in politics, you see that the main problem in many countries of the world is the issue of butterfly-lived governments that dissolve before completing even one year in office.

Today, Westerners are faced with this problem, which we experienced frequently in the 70s and 90s, and which we resolved in 2002. As a result of this, while they cannot properly cope with even a single crisis, we are struggling with many problems at the same time on different fronts and can manage them successfully. While we keep our country away from conflicts, we take an active part in peace efforts and defend rights and justice without hesitation. Everyone, friend and foe, is now forced to accept the reality of Türkiye, which makes its power felt on the field and at the table. Türkiye; As it solves chronic problems such as terrorism, tutelage and instability, it also increases its brand value on a global scale. In this respect, I find the sensitivity of our business world to maintain an environment of stability and trust very, very meaningful. Hopefully, as both the government and the alliance, we will continue to do our part to protect and strengthen this climate. Dear guests, in this period when global and regional crises are constant, our government supports our real sector with all its resources. We never leave alone those who produce for Türkiye, those who provide employment for our nation, and our exporters who deliver Turkish products to every corner of the world. We increased Eximbank’s capital from 13.8 billion lira to 100 billion lira. Our bank’s credit and insurance support reached 26 billion dollars, an increase of 31 percent in the first five months of this year. Hopefully, at the end of the year, our bank will break a record with support of 60 billion dollars. The rediscount loans provided by our Central Bank amounted to 1 trillion 267 billion lira in the last year. In addition, we provide foreign exchange conversion support to our exporters and continue to support their production and competitiveness. Despite the increases in global energy prices, we protect our citizens and producers with the Ecel mobile system. We are among the most advantageous countries in Europe in terms of electricity and natural gas costs in the manufacturing industry. We have previously launched our investment-committed advance loan and HIT-30 programs to encourage high value-added production in the industry. We strengthen our labor-intensive sectors with wage and transportation supports. We are aware of the difficulties in accessing finance. While discussing the current situation of the Turkish economy at our Cabinet Meeting on Monday, we also discussed the financing issue in detail. We gave the necessary instructions to the economic management to carry out a comprehensive study, taking into account past experiences regarding this issue. It is a fact that just as access to finance is important, it is also important to use these resources in the right place and in the right way. We do not use our country’s scarce resources in unproductive areas; We want it to go to production, export, investment and industry. The first rule of business life is to find a market to sell the product. The determinant of exports is foreign demand. Permanent success is not achieved through palliative solutions; It comes with new customers, new markets and strong business relationships. We attach great importance to opening up our business world, especially DEİK, to new markets. We are open to any suggestions from you on this subject.

WE DID NOT SAY NEAR AND FAR
DEİK’s journey started 41 years ago with the vision of the late Özal. The basis of our foreign policy philosophy is Rumi’s compass metaphor. While fixing one end of the compass on these lands, we consider it our duty to embrace the world with the other and to encompass all continents, near and far. We were not stuck with Ankara in domestic politics, nor did we act with hostility and prejudice.

INVITATION TO ISTANBUL

We bring very strong incentives to companies doing international business. Companies that carry out their transit trade activities through the Istanbul Financial Center will not pay corporate tax. We halved the corporate tax rate applied to industrial manufacturing and agricultural production. We invite world companies to move their regional management centers to Türkiye. Our message is very clear: Manage your operations from Türkiye and benefit from the advantages. We say to investors, ‘Come to Türkiye, be a part of the growth story of the new and powerful Türkiye.’

YOU WAVE OUR FLAG

I visited 22 countries in 2025 alone. I attended 26 summits. We witnessed the investments of our DEİK members almost everywhere we went. I personally observed the trade bridges you built with all your hard work and effort. I witnessed how successfully you represented Türkiye and the Turkish nation. We were proud to see our crescent and star flag flying in investments and projects initiated in different countries.

WE ARE GROWING UNINTERRUPTED

You know very well where Türkiye came from during our rule. From coup attempts to sabotage targeting our economy, from earthquakes to regional wars, you are the witnesses of how we have successfully overcome many troubles that would have brought down any other country if it had happened to it. Figures also reveal Türkiye’s increasing success rate from year to year. In 2025, our exports of goods and services broke the record of our Republic’s history with 395.9 billion dollars. Our goods exports, which were only 36 billion dollars in 2002, increased to 273.3 billion dollars by 2025. Our service exports reached 122.6 billion dollars last year, up from 14 billion dollars in 2002. Our defense and aerospace exports have increased by more than 40 percent in the last 23 years and exceeded 10 billion dollars in 2025. Despite the painful atmosphere that affects the whole world, including developed countries, as Türkiye, we have been continuing our growth uninterruptedly for 23 quarters.

MEANINGFUL GIFT
The program started with the speeches of Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and DEİK President Nail Olpak, and a film specially prepared by DEİK was shown. This year, Mithat Yenigün, Remzi Gür, Ömer Cihad Vardan and Sakıp Sabancı, who passed away in 2004, were deemed worthy of the “Respect for Masters Award” presented by President Erdoğan. Melis Sabancı Tapan, the granddaughter of the late Sabancı, received the award. After the speeches, Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat and DEİK President Nail Olpak presented President Erdoğan with a meaningful gift in memory of the day. Inspired by the “eve eve flowers” tradition that became widespread during the Ottoman Period, DEIK clothed 100 children in need through the Turkish Red Crescent before the holiday. A letter and a picture written by one of the children to President Erdoğan were presented as a gift. In addition to President Erdoğan, Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Governor of Istanbul Davut Gül, AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir and many representatives from the business world attended the program.

BREAKING NEWS I President Erdoğan: Zero Waste movement has turned into a global mobilization

“43 MILLION CHILDREN ARE WRITING IN THE CLAWS OF HUNGER IN DIFFERENT REGIONS OF THE WORLD”

President Erdoğan stated that, according to the report published by the United Nations World Food Program, 43 million children are currently suffering from hunger in different parts of the world and said, “One third of the food produced in a year, that is, 1.3 billion tons, is wasted. Every year, more than 3 million children die in the prime of their lives as a result of hunger-related diseases.” he said.

Pointing out that the waste problem is also an important threat on a global scale, Erdoğan said, “This is a truly frightening example that reveals the dire dimensions of the problem of the 1.6 million square kilometer ‘garbage continent’ in the north of the Pacific Ocean, consisting of tons of waste and plastic, which my wife Emine Erdoğan brought up at the opening of the forum. The data we have shows that this problem will deepen rather than decrease. Solid waste, which is 2.1 billion tons in 2023.” “The amount is expected to increase to 3.8 billion tons in 2050 if no measures are taken.” he said.

President Erdoğan continued as follows:

“As Turkey, we see nature both as a legacy entrusted to us by our Lord and as a legacy that must be handed over to future generations, and we meticulously take the necessary steps in terms of environment, climate and waste management. We act with an approach based on green transformation, circular economy and sustainable development, and make intense efforts to minimize the effects of the climate crisis. The Zero Waste Movement, which was launched in 2017 under the leadership of my wife Emine Erdoğan, is today a global environment accepted by the United Nations.” “In 2022, Türkiye was the main presenter and 105 countries were the co-hosts, and the declaration of March 30 as International Zero Waste Day was the most valuable fruit of sincere efforts in this direction.”

“WE WILL CONTINUE OUR WORK WITH DETERMINATION IN LINE WITH OUR 2053 NET ZERO EMISSION TARGET”

President Erdoğan continued his words as follows:

“With the projects and practices implemented with the zero waste movement, we contributed 365 billion liras to our economy. We recycled 90 million tons of waste. We prevented the cutting down of 613 million trees. We prevented the emission of 180 million tons of greenhouse gases, which corresponds to the carbon emissions of 36 million trees. We saved 2 trillion liters of water, 270 billion kilowatt-hours of energy, 60 billion liters of oil and 390 million cubic meters of waste storage space. “Our recovery rate, which was 13 percent in 2017, increased to 37.53 percent in 2025, almost 3 times. We will increase this rate to 60 percent in 2035 and hopefully to 70 percent in 2053. We will continue our work determinedly in line with our 2053 net zero emission target.”

Erdoğan, who turned the Zero Waste Movement, which started in 2017 as a symbol of environmental sensitivity and a deep awareness of responsibility towards future generations, into a global environment and climate struggle in a short period of 9 years, wholeheartedly thanked all the workers, especially those who inspired and pioneered the movement, and hoped that the forum would be beneficial.

President Erdoğan was accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan at the gala dinner.

In the program where the short film “Türkiye with Seasons” was watched, Zero Waste Foundation President and COP31 High Level Climate Champion Samed Ağırbaş also made a speech.

A video about the Zero Waste Movement and the vision of the forum was also shown in the program.

BREAKING NEWS I President Erdoğan: Waste problem is a global threat

Breaking News… President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the gala dinner of the ‘Zero Waste Forum’ held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport…

Highlights from President Erdoğan’s speech:

“I wholeheartedly congratulate you on your Istanbul Zero Waste Week. I hope that our exhibitions that raise the awareness of both our children and our visitors will bring good things.

This forum, attended by more than five thousand participants, shows the level Türkiye has reached. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the forum with their ideas and criticism. I hope that the new steps to be taken will be beneficial in advance.

The climate issue is a serious problem that threatens all of humanity, just like war and global epidemics. The impact of these problems is felt even more in a very wide area. Throughout billions of years of world history, the climate has changed in every era. The main issue here is to solve it without causing a crisis.

The countries that have the biggest share in the deepening of the climate crisis are also the countries least affected by this crisis. While there is no drinking water on one side, luxury and rudeness continue on the other side. 43 million children are in the grip of hunger.

We are living in a period where artificial intelligence and new technologies accelerate production and unconscious consumption habits harm nature.

With the Zero Waste movement, 365 billion liras were contributed to our economy. “We prevented 180 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions.”

AK Party Deputy Chairman Yayman spoke in Kütahya: The issue of Türkiye without terrorism is a very important issue for Türkiye.

Published

on

In his speech at his party’s Kütahya Provincial Advisory Council Meeting, Yayman said that, as the AK Party, they are always at the command and service of the nation.

Stating that very important gains were made during the AK Party governments, Yayman said: “They say ‘There are difficulties in the economy’. Yes, the AK Party has been in power for 24 years, and there have been very serious economic gains and breakthroughs in approximately 22 of those 24 years. In the last two years, there have been problems in the balance of the economy due to the problems arising from the Russia-Ukraine War, the problems in the Middle East, the problems left over from the coronavirus period and the killer Israel and America’s attack on Iran, but I hope these will be resolved.” “We will overcome it again under the leadership of our President.”

YAYMAN NOTED THAT CHP HAS ENTERED AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS.

Emphasizing that the complainant, the person making the criminal complaint and the person being complained about are CHP members, Yayman said, “The one who gives bribes is a CHP member, the one who takes bribes is a CHP member, the confessor is a CHP member, the secret witness is a CHP member. In other words, the incident takes place within the CHP. There is such a disrespectful image within themselves that they call their leader, whom they previously tried to explain to Türkiye as a candidate of the six-party table, ‘traitor’. What our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said AK Party is not and will not be anywhere in these discussions that spill over from the court corridors to the streets.” he said.

“LAWAY OF WEAPONS IS A MUST”

Yayman underlined that the Terror-Free Türkiye process is very important and continued as follows:

“The issue of Turkey without terrorism is a state and nation project of the National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission. It is an issue of ending terrorism and laying down the weapons of the terrorist organization. It is a very important issue for Turkey, carried out under the chairmanship of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and MHP Chairman, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. Our issue is to raise the standard of Türkiye’s democracy. Our issue is to increase Türkiye’s problem-solving ability. Our issue is a “It is essential to establish a climate of brotherhood and end terrorism not in words but in substance. In this issue, which is being followed by our National Intelligence Directorate and the relevant institutions of the state, it is essential to lay down the weapons. Weapons must not only be laid down, but also burned and removed from circulation forever.”

Stating that the report of the commission, which includes AK Party, MHP, CHP and DEM Party, is important, Yayman emphasized that it is indispensable to lay down weapons as signed by the parties. At the meeting, AK Party Kütahya Deputies İsmail Çağlar Bayırcı, Adil Biçer and Mehmet Demir and AK Party Kütahya Provincial Chair Ceyda Çetin Erenler also made speeches.
