Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi attended the commemoration programs held in Ankara on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. Çiftçi, who started his speech by commemorating all the martyrs with mercy and gratitude, especially remembered the 253 martyrs who lost their lives on the night of July 15. Stating that the Police Special Operations Directorate paid one of the heaviest prices in the coup attempt, Çiftçi said that Gölbaşı is in the memory of the nation as a symbol of courage and resistance.

“JULY 15 IS THE VICTORY OF THE NATION’S WILL”

Emphasizing that millions of citizens defended democracy and national will on the night of July 15, Çiftçi said that the leadership demonstrated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the determination of the nation were united. “That night, the whole world saw once again that the will and freedom of this beloved nation cannot be shackled.” Farmer said that July 15 is a historical lesson that should always be kept alive in the state’s memory.

“THE TRUSTS OF OUR MARTYRS ARE THE CROWN OF OUR HEADS”

Addressing the families of the martyrs, Çiftçi stated that the state is always with them and said, “We cannot relieve the longing in your hearts, but our state is always with you. The trusts of our martyrs are the crown of our hearts.” he said. Stating that the sacrifices of the veterans will always live in the memory of the nation, Çiftçi said that they are the living epics of Türkiye.

Stating that July 15 should not be considered as an event that only happened in the past, Çiftçi noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with all security units, is on duty against all kinds of threats. Stating that the fight against terrorism, operations against organized crime organizations, the fight against drugs, cyber security and border security activities are carried out with the same determination, Çiftçi said, “We are constantly on alert for the security of our state, the peace of our nation and the protection of public order. Police Chief Ali Fidan made a speech at the commemoration program at the Police Special Operations Directorate. Reminding that the Police Special Operations Directorate was subjected to one of the heaviest attacks by the treacherous coup plotters on the night of July 15, Fidan said that 44 special operations police officers were martyred in Gölbaşı and 7 police officers in the Aviation Department were martyred. Stating that a total of 65 members of the Police Department were martyred during the coup attempt, Fidan said, “I wish God’s mercy to our martyrs. May their souls rest in peace, their place in heaven, and their ranks be high. I wish our heroic veterans health, well-being and a good life.” he said.

According to current laws, protection orders cannot be given for children in such situations.

If a public lawsuit is filed against the child, the situation will be reported to the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of National Education in order to take the necessary measures.
