President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 33rd General Assembly of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the Champions of Export Award Ceremony held at the Haliç Congress Center. Erdoğan briefly said:

YOU ARE SHOULDERING THE LOAD: I would like to congratulate our companies that will receive awards as champions of export and our business people who are the leaders in their sector. You shoulder the burden of our country, sometimes as an exporter, sometimes as a volunteer ambassador, and sometimes as a sergeant struggling to overcome the obstacles put in front of Türkiye. I have always stood by our exporters, whom I see as companions of the road, cause and destiny, and I will continue to be with you from now on. From the remotest corners of the world to the most competitive markets, every product bearing the Turkish stamp is reflected in the hard work, dynamism and global vision of this huge family. Türkiye’s increasing success rate from year to year is obvious. Despite the various difficulties that Türkiye faces, anyone who follows the world and has open eyes and horizons can see where Turkey has come from.

RECORD IN THE HISTORY OF THE REPUBLIC: In the shadow of cyclical tensions, we recorded a growth of 3.6 percent in 2025 and a growth of 2.5 percent in the first quarter of 2026, and we carried our uninterrupted growth performance to the last 23 quarters. Our success in exports, which we have achieved with the motto of not leaving a single customs gate in global markets where our flag does not fly, has now become our source of national motivation. In 2025, our exports of goods and services broke the record in the history of our republic with 395.9 billion dollars. Thank God, the momentum we achieved in exports continued where it left off in 2026. There was a temporary slowdown in our foreign trade data in May due to the holiday effect. But on May 22, we reached the highest value of all time with 2.4 billion dollars in daily exports. Of course, the increase in Türkiye’s exports shows a great improvement not only in quantity but also in quality.

TECHNOLOGY AND DEFENSE EXPORTS: Our medium-high and high-technology product exports, which were 10 billion dollars in 2002, increased to 112 billion dollars in 2025. Our annual exports of medium-high and high-tech manufacturing industry products reached 114.4 billion dollars. According to the latest data, defense and aerospace exports increased by 29 percent in the January-May period, reaching 3 billion 863 million dollars. Thus, a 29.5 percent increase was achieved in our defense exports in the first five months of the year. From an annual defense industry export of 248 million dollars, we have now reached a level of monthly exports of 992 million dollars in the same sector. In other words, thank God, we now export in a week what we used to do in a year. These figures emerged as a result of Türkiye’s orientation towards technology-intensive products. We aim to increase our exports to distant countries to 50 billion dollars by 2028.

WE ARE NOT YESTERDAY’S INTRODUCED TURKEY

Of course, all kinds of political, economic and social tensions in our region affect and will affect us as well. However, Türkiye is not the introverted Turkey of yesterday. There is now a Türkiye that is integrated with the world in every field, has gained the ability to establish relations at eye level, and is respected by the great powers. We are entering a period in which we will move towards new opportunities and new continents together with our exporters, acting with an approach that will transform every encounter with global crises into political and economic gains.

WE ARE INCREASING THE REdiscount CREDIT TO 5 BILLION

We are aware of the difficulties experienced due to the negative atmosphere in global markets, especially the European market. In order to help you overcome these difficulties, we offer foreign exchange conversion support to our exporters and support their production and competitiveness. On this occasion, I would like to share good news with you. As you know, we increased the daily limit of rediscount loans from 300 million lira to 4.5 billion lira. This time, we are increasing this figure to 5 billion lira with an additional 500 million lira. Congratulations to our export family.

21 OUR PROVINCES EXCEEDED THE 1 BILLION DOLLAR DAMAGE

President Erdoğan said, “21 of our provinces exported over 1 billion dollars in the January-May period. We continue our efforts to make more provinces have a share in exports. Despite all the troubles, conflicts and crises around, there are very few examples in the world that can be compared to our country’s rapid rise in exports. Of course, we will not stop there. We will take the success story even further.”

A MEANINGFUL GIFT TO PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN

At the program held at the Haliç Congress Center, Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat and TİM President Mustafa Gültepe also made speeches. After the speeches, TİM President Gültepe presented President Erdoğan with a special carpet prepared with silk weaving technique. President Erdoğan then presented awards to the representatives of the companies that ranked in the top 10 in exports in 2025.

“WE ARE WALKING UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN”

Stating that new residences were built in a wide area with the works carried out after the earthquake in Adıyaman, and the city was made safer and stronger with tens of thousands of buildings, Kurum stated that they settled citizens in their homes in Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Adana, Osmaniye, Elazığ and Kilis.

The institution stated that Türkiye, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is the will that transformed the disaster of the century into the construction campaign of the century, and said, “While there is an understanding in the USA and Germany that leaves its citizens to the mercy of the insurance company when a disaster occurs, Turkey is now number one in the world in fast and high-quality post-disaster housing production and urban transformation experience. The institution stated that the contributions of non-governmental organizations shape the process and emphasized that a strong state and a strong society complement each other.

Kurum emphasized that all institutions were on the field during the disaster and the wounds were healed together, and that the houses in Ödemiş and Sındırgı were about to be completed.

The institution stated that the work is not limited to the earthquake zone only and said:

“To date, we have built 1 million 767 thousand houses within the scope of social housing projects and provided approximately 7 million citizens with solid, safe and modern homes. However, we did not stop there. We wanted to spread our experience in the construction of the century to 81 provinces and started the Housing Project of the Century, the largest social housing move in the history of our Republic. We continue our work with the target of 500 thousand social houses in our 81 provinces. We have drawn our lots and laid the foundations of many of our houses, hopefully in 2027. “We will start handing over the keys in March.”

Pointing out that they will implement the rental housing application in Istanbul for the first time with this project, Kurum stated that he sees this application as very important in balancing rental prices.

The institution said, “We will deliver our rental houses to our citizens in need in September. With our social housing, we not only make our citizens own houses at affordable prices, but also provide our nation with solid homes in our country that lives with the reality of earthquakes. We continue our urban transformation work rapidly to make our cities resistant to disasters. Urban transformation is not a choice. Urban transformation is not a luxury. Urban transformation is not an issue that can be postponed at all.” he said.

Stating that millions of houses have been transformed with this understanding, Kurum said, “Our goal is not only to renew risky structures. Our goal is to build safer, more resilient, more environmentally friendly and more livable cities in the Turkey Century.” He said his words.

With the DOA machines that will be installed in our 81 provinces as of July 1, both our environment and our economy will win. You will throw the bottles into the machines, and 1 lira from each bottle will be deposited in your wallets. The bottles collected here will also be recycled and recycled. “We are not just talking about an individual application. Market chains, supermarkets, grocery stores, buffets, hotels, restaurants and cafes throughout Turkey will also be a part of this system. Thanks to this system, we will recycle approximately 25 billion pieces of packaging every year, making a direct contribution of approximately 30 billion lira to the economy.”

Stating that the world’s largest summit, COP31, which will be hosted by Türkiye and host 197 countries this year, will be held in Antalya, Kurum stated that work is continuing in line with the “2053 Net Zero Emission” target.

The institution said, “The fight against climate change is now at the center of not only environmental policies, but also development, investment, trade and urbanization. For this reason, we want COP31 to turn into a strong ground that brings together public institutions, local governments, academia, private sector and civil society around common goals. We especially attach great importance to our business world and non-governmental organizations being one of the most important stakeholders of this process.” he said.

Stating that all services provided are the result of President Erdoğan’s determined will, Kurum said, “With the will of our President, while we transform Istanbul with one hand, our other hand will be in Gaza and Syria. AK Party’s 33rd Consultation and Evaluation Camp will start tomorrow in Sapanca district of Sakarya. In the camp held with the slogan “Quarter Century Epic”, messages for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the AK Party and the road map for the new period will be discussed. In addition to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, ministers, deputy ministers, MPs, MKYK members and party founders will attend the camp. PREPARED DEDICATED TO A QUARTER CENTURY OF POLITICAL JOURNEY

According to the information obtained from the backstage, President Erdoğan will be played the song “Great President Erdoğan”, which was prepared for the AK Party’s quarter-century political journey. While the song was performed by the artist Ceyhun Çelik, the lyrics of the song were written by the AK Party Promotion and Media Directorate after a long work.

EMPHASIS ON THE QUARTER CENTURY PERIOD
The work, which reflects the party’s 25th anniversary vision, will emphasize the quarter-century period under Erdoğan’s leadership. The song will be one of the most striking surprises of the camp and will take its place among the special works that will be used in the 25th anniversary events. It is expected to be one of the anthems that will be remembered for many years by being identified with the AK Party’s quarter century. Last year, a new work was shared by the Promotion and Media Directorate at the 32nd Consultation Meeting, and the work was praised by President Erdoğan.

According to the statement made by the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, before the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in Ankara on July 7-8, the parliamentary heads of NATO member countries will meet in Istanbul.

20 Parliamentary Speakers, 3 Parliamentary Deputy Speakers, NATO Parliamentary Assembly President Marcos Perestrello, NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska, NATO PA Presidential Council members, high-level representatives of allied countries and international organizations will attend the summit, which will enable consultation and exchange of views at the parliamentary level between allied countries.

As part of the summit, parliamentary speakers from Albania, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Croatia, the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, North Macedonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Slovakia will come together in Istanbul.

The summit, which has been organized by NATO PA in cooperation with host countries since 2024, is an important platform for strengthening parliamentary coordination before the NATO Leaders Summit.

NATO Speakers of Parliament Summit Meeting will be held on Monday, June 29, at Dolmabahçe Palace. At the meeting, parliamentary chairmen and delegation chairmen will make speeches.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to meet with the participants and address them at the official lunch held within the scope of the summit.

As part of the summit program, a field visit to Baykar National Technology Center will be held for the participants in the afternoon of the same day. During the visit, it is planned to provide information about the company’s activities, work in the field of defense technologies and innovative projects.

The NATO Parliamentary Summit in Istanbul is the third summit after the summits held in the USA and Belgium.
