“From the first moment, our state came to the field with all its means and units.”
Duran, in his speech at the “Revival Vision Panel of Strong Türkiye, Building the Century” held at the Directorate of Communications, stated that they came together today to take stock of the 3 years that have passed since that great test they experienced, to keep memories alive against disasters and to share their common perspective on the future of Türkiye.
Stating that he believes that this meeting is an expression of being able to walk forward, towards the future without forgetting what he has experienced, and growing hope without leaving the pain behind, Duran reminded that he faced one of the heaviest tests in the country’s history with two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on the morning of February 6, exactly 3 years ago.
Duran stated that this great test deeply shook every segment of society, but it brought solidarity with pain, and wisdom with patience.
Stating that the earthquakes, which they described as the disaster of the century, left deep traces in 11 provinces and directly affected the lives of 14 million citizens, Duran said, “We lost over 53 thousand lives due to the earthquakes. More than 107 thousand of our brothers were injured. On this occasion, I once again wish God’s mercy to our citizens who passed away. May they rest in peace and be in high ranks. I also wish patience and fortitude to our brothers who personally experienced that destruction and had to bury their relatives.” he said.

“FROM THE FIRST MOMENT, OUR STATE HAS BEEN ON THE FIELD WITH ALL ITS FACILITIES AND UNITS”
Director of Communications Duran stated that major disasters do not only produce destruction, but also make the character and spirit of solidarity of a nation clearly visible.
“The period after February 6 is a story of resurrection for Türkiye, where the solidarity of the state and the nation is manifested in the strongest way.” Using the expression, Duran continued his words as follows:
“As a matter of fact, from the first moment, our state came to the field with all its resources and units. Our non-governmental organizations took on tasks with a spirit of dedication without any hesitation. Our citizens rushed to help not only with what they had, but also with their hearts, prayers and hopes. We made a great effort together to reach one more life, to bring hope to life at the beginning of the rubble, to make another disaster victim feel that he was not alone. Therefore, I must say this. We will overcome this disaster with both our technical capacity, our conscience and our conscience.” “We came with our strength of solidarity. This strong will and spirit of unity has been provided with an institutional framework by a permanent and comprehensive reconstruction and revival process that is not satisfied with the temporary solutions initiated under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.”
“HUMAN-CENTERED APPROACH”
Duran stated that Türkiye, in this process, did what was said to be impossible with the cooperation of the nation and the state and offered a new standard to the world with its human-centered approach.
Pointing out that the process is not just an effort to replace the destroyed ones, Duran said:
“This process, as our President underlines at every opportunity, is the realization of the understanding of not leaving any citizen unattended and the responsibility of being the orphan of the homeless. The delivery of 455 thousand houses to our citizens is one of the most important manifestations of this. All of our cities, which were seriously damaged in the earthquake, with the construction and renovation works, have today reached brand new standards and faces. All of these are not limited to a physical structuring. It also expresses the re-establishment of social justice, economic resistance and social recovery. Environment, Urbanization and “Our Minister of Climate Change, Mr. Murat Kurum, will explain the issue to you in detail, as someone who knows the work done in the region closely and undertakes very important duties in this regard.”
DISASTER COMMUNICATION
Duran said that the disaster and the aftermath showed once again how important a strong communication environment that centers on the truth is.
Stating that they have made intense efforts to establish a healthy communication environment and that they continue to do so, Duran stated that, while on the one hand they came to the aid of earthquake-affected citizens in this difficult period, on the other hand they had to fight against an intense disinformation campaign that targets the truth, aims to disrupt search and rescue efforts and harm social peace.
Emphasizing that they are experiencing a difficult period in which the opportunities offered by sophisticated communication tools and the weaknesses they bring are exploited, Duran made the following evaluations:
“We have all experienced together how quickly lies, fictionalized content and distorted information can spread and have an impact, especially in times of crisis. During this period, we witnessed that disinformation spread, sometimes with deliberate guidance and sometimes with false transfers resulting from lack of information. It was extremely important to fight against this misleading information, which harms the peace of the society, harms the public order in the disaster area and disrupts search and rescue activities. In this context, as the Directorate of Communications, nearly 200 people We intervened in the disinformative content and shared the truth with our nation. We did our best to inform the public accurately in coordination with the relevant institutions of our state. In addition, we immediately implemented the CİMER Crisis Communication Strategy in order to maintain uninterrupted communication with our nation. In this context, as of 08.30 on the morning of February 6, we launched the CİMER Earthquake Emergency Application as a special communication channel for our earthquake victims. “We tried to follow up and find a solution. We answered more than 220 thousand calls on a 24/7 basis in the 3-month period after the earthquake through the CİMER Call Center. On the other hand, we established press centers to facilitate the work of journalists in the region and met their needs.”
“THIS IS THE RESURRECTION STORY OF OUR PEOPLE, IT IS A SUCCESS STORY”
Presidential Communications Director Duran stated that they are a host to international reporters and that they provide information with the Turkish and English bulletins they publish every day.
Reminding that 32 international journalists from 11 countries, who worked in the region after the February 6 earthquakes, came to the region again last week and met with the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Duran said that these press members, who also witnessed the destruction of the earthquake, had the opportunity to observe and witness the great revival that took place after 3 years.
Stating that with the program in question, they have enabled 366 journalists from 26 countries to see the revival and construction works carried out by Türkiye since 2024, Duran said, “This is the resurrection story of our people, a success story, and it is appropriate that the whole world applauds it.” he said.
BOOK “3RD YEAR OF THE DISASTER OF THE CENTURY, CONSTRUCTION AND REVIVAL WORKS”
Director of Communications Duran stated that they made the public aware of the intensive work in the earthquake region with the publications they made, panels and symposiums they organized in the post-disaster period.
Explaining that they have presented the book “Today, their new work, 3rd Year of the Disaster of the Century, Construction and Revival Works” to the public, Duran said:
“Our work, the introductory text of which was written by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, includes the studies carried out from the first moment on the disaster of the century. In the content of the book, major disasters in the world and the global effects of the February 6 earthquakes were evaluated. Detailed data on the disaster was also shared in the form of infographics. In addition to all these, the studies carried out after the disaster were evaluated from a holistic perspective under many headings such as health, education, economy, social services and communication. In this respect, our book, solidarity It has become a reference work that records the construction and revival experience we carried out with our spirit and tells it to future generations. On the other hand, I would like to mention one of the titles of our panels, ‘Disaster Journalism, Preventing News Without Turning It into a Disaster’ Project. Within the scope of this project, carried out under the coordination of Selçuk University and of which our institution is a partner, the internationally valid disaster journalism course curriculum for communication faculties and training guides for media professionals were developed, God forbid, when disasters come again. “They should have known what to do in advance. I believe that these studies will make significant contributions to increasing awareness about disaster communication in our country and in the world and strengthening ethics on this issue.”
Duran emphasized that establishing a healthy communication environment is more important in times of disaster, and that this issue is the common responsibility of the Directorate of Communications and relevant institutions of the state, the media community, the academic world, non-governmental organizations and all segments of society.
Stating that AFAD is very valuable in times of disaster, that it does important work, but that they must assume responsibility as all citizens, Duran expressed his gratitude to all institutions that contributed to the great revival process, public personnel who worked devotedly in the field, academics, media members and citizens.

Head of Communications Duran: Strong women build a strong society
The opening of the photography exhibition titled “Women Touching Life” was held at the Presidency Directorate of Communications building on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day.
Speaking at the opening, Duran said that the event was organized not only to commemorate a calendar day, but also to emphasize the active role of women in social life.
Referring to the historical transformation of women’s labor, Duran said, “Women’s dignity, labor and social value are, for us, an expression of a deep-rooted understanding that is among the fundamental values of our civilization, beyond a modern search for rights. In our culture, women are an essential subject that establishes and transforms society.” he said.

“STRONG WOMEN BUILD A STRONG SOCIETY”
Duran emphasized that Turkish women took responsibility in the fateful moments of the nation, from the War of Independence to July 15.
Reminding that with the Republic, women gained the right to vote and be elected before many Western countries, Duran reminded that there were also periods in the past when women were excluded from education and business life due to their beliefs.
Duran said:
“Thankfully, the obstacles that occurred during the February 28 period, ranging from university life to the public and private sectors, have been overcome one by one today. Under the leadership of our President, all obstacles to freedom of belief have been eliminated. Turkey has taken important steps to establish equality between men and women, especially in the last 24 years, with public policies and constitutional regulations aimed at strengthening women’s rights.
“WOMEN ARE NOW INVOLVED MORE EFFECTIVELY IN DECISION-MAKING MECHANISMS”
In this process, incentives to increase women’s employment have been implemented, loan and grant programs have been offered to entrepreneurial women, and the actual basis of legal equality has been strengthened with practices such as maternity-nursing leave and child allowance. “Women in Türkiye are now more actively involved not only in the field but also in decision-making mechanisms.”

Stating that the empowerment of women and the strengthening of the family are complementary elements, Duran drew attention to the importance of a life free from violence and economic security.
The exhibition, which was opened to visitors at the Presidential Directorate of Communications Exhibition Hall, includes 41 photographs taken between 1934 and 1986.
In the selection, the stories of women who left their mark in every field of life, from tea harvest workers to ceramic factory employees, from the first female announcers at Ankara Radio to Türkiye’s first female taxi driver, are told.

Discord to the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood! Ugly support for MOSSAD’s black propaganda: Guliyev’s immoral slander against Berat Albayrak and Turkuvaz Media
October 19, 2018: STAR Refinery, built by Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR in Aliağa/Izmir, was opened with a ceremony.
The refinery, where President Erdoğan and President Aliyev cut the ribbon together, became the largest real sector investment made at once in Türkiye with an investment of 6.3 billion dollars.
In his speech at the opening, Erdoğan stated that the STAR Refinery took the relations between the two countries “one step further” and that the economic partnership deepened.
Following previous projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) gas line, the STAR Refinery formed a new link of the strategic energy projects implemented by the two countries with TANAP, which came into operation in June 2018.

30 November 2019: The European connection of the TANAP natural gas pipeline was completed and an opening ceremony was held in İpsala district of Edirne.
At the ceremony attended by President Erdoğan and President Aliyev, most of the Southern Gas Corridor project was completed with the connection of the TANAP line to the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) on the Greek border.
Thus, all infrastructural obstacles to the transmission of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via Turkey were removed.
As of the end of October 2019, Türkiye received a total of 3.18 billion m³ of gas from TANAP, and this amount was planned to be gradually increased to 6 billion m³ per year.
2019 (Commercial Relations): During this period, the trade volume between Türkiye and Azerbaijan increased steadily.
In 2019, bilateral foreign trade volume reached approximately 4.5 billion dollars.
2019 (Investments): Azerbaijan’s direct investments in Türkiye reached historical levels in this period. Especially thanks to energy projects such as the STAR Refinery and Petkim petrochemical facilities, Azerbaijan became one of the countries that invested the most in Türkiye between 2015-2020.
By 2020, Azerbaijan’s total investment in Türkiye approached 20 billion dollars (about 17 billion dollars in energy and 3 billion dollars in non-energy sectors). Similarly, Turkish companies have expanded their activities in Azerbaijan in sectors such as energy, construction, infrastructure, telecom and banking.
February 25, 2020: Important agreements were signed between the two countries within the scope of the 8th High Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting held in Baku.
The most notable was the Preferential Trade Agreement.
With this agreement signed in the presence of President Erdoğan and President Aliyev, it was decided to set annual tariff quotas in 15 mutual product groups and reset customs duties.
The Preferential Trade Agreement is a historic step that aims to remove obstacles to trade between the two countries and increase the volume.
During the same visit, various memorandums of understanding, including an action plan, were signed between the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO).
September – November 2020: During the Second Karabakh War, which started on September 27, 2020 and lasted 44 days, Türkiye provided strong diplomatic support to Azerbaijan.
Turkish officials defended the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan at the highest level and reiterated their calls for an end to the occupation of Armenia.
Türkiye declared that it considered Azerbaijan’s operations based on international law as “its own case”.
After the war ended with Azerbaijan’s victory on November 10, 2020, Türkiye expressed its satisfaction with the result and once again showed that it stood by Azerbaijan in its rightful struggle.
This process reinforced the strategic alliance dimension of the two countries and further strengthened the sense of brotherhood in the public opinion.
As a matter of fact, President Erdoğan expressed this closeness in his statement right after the victory, saying, “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow.”
(2015-2020): Concrete projects and agreements implemented during this period show that Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations have reached a historical peak.
The opening of the TANAP natural gas pipeline and SOCAR investments in the field of energy, the commissioning of the BTK railway in transportation, close cooperation in the field of defense and diplomacy, preferential agreements and increasing volume in trade were evaluated as practical reflections of the “one nation, two states” approach.
ONE OF TANAP’S ARCHITECTS; BERAT ALBAYRAK…
Berat Albayrak, who was slandered as “anti-Azerbaijan”, left his name on the pages of history as one of the architects of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project, which is the symbol of the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood. Albayrak said about TANAP in 2018, “TANAP is also an investment in brotherhood. It is the ideal of two states and one nation crossing borders and reaching new geographies and new people. It is the greatest legacy that the true friendship and affection between the two countries will leave to the future.”
Moreover, the Azerbaijani press describes TANAP as the “project of the century”. In such an environment, attributing “anti-Azerbaijan” to Berat Albayrak is nothing more than a huge contradiction.

Minister of Internal Affairs Çiftçi is in Şırnak: Today, 81 thousand barrels of oil are produced in Gabar
Minister Çiftçi also visited the AK Party and MHP provincial headquarters and met with party members. Minister Çiftçi was accompanied by AK Party Şırnak Deputy Arslan Tatar, Interior Minister Advisor Hatice Atan and AK Party Provincial Chairman İbrahim Halil Erkan during his visit.
‘THE FOUNDATION OF THE AK PARTY WAS A GREAT BREAKING MOMENT’
After his visit, Minister Çiftçi attended the Vefa Iftar Program held at Şırnak Teachers’ House. Speaking after the iftar, Çiftçi stated that the establishment of the AK Party 23 years ago was an important turning point for Turkey and said, “Ramadan is a holy month of mercy, brotherhood and unity of hearts. I feel the happiness of being together with you at this table of abundance, in the climate of mercy, in Şehr-i Nuh. These lands are at the foot of Cudi, where patience, submission and resurrection This climate, where the prayer of Prophet Noah echoes, has been the home of brotherhood, hope and wisdom for centuries. The light of many scholars and scholars and madrasahs have enlightened this geography for centuries. The legacy of Al-Jazari, who took the first steps of cybernetics and opened the horizon to humanity with his idea that went beyond his time, rises in this geography. The voice of Mela-ye Ciziri, who transformed words into wisdom and wisdom into wisdom. It still resonates in these lands. There is science, art, contemplation and heart. The AK Party was born as the name of this great march, under the astute, brave and nation-loving leadership of our Honorable President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. On that day, Turkey was under the pressure of tutelage centers. There were understandings that distanced themselves from the values of the nation and the dreams of local and national development were underestimated. “It was a moment of great breaking against the understanding that tried to suppress the faith, identity and values of the nation through coups,” he said.
‘WE WILL CONTINUE OUR WAY TO SERVE THE NATION’
Stating that more than 113 billion liras were invested in Şırnak, Minister Çiftçi said, “On that day, Turkey met with a strong will that drew its own direction. Under the leadership of our esteemed President, a great development move began in every corner of this country. Each of the 81 provinces was viewed with the same eye. No individual of this nation was pushed into the background because of his origin, was not considered strange because of his beliefs, was not put in the background because of the city he lived in. ‘Service to the nation, We embarked on the journey with the understanding of ‘serving the whole country’. If an investment of more than 113 billion lira has been brought to our Şırnak in this process, there is a strong political will. There are organizations working day and night, like you. The following words of our esteemed President are the summary of this march: ‘We see our only duty as serving God and the people.’ We will continue on our way to serve the nation. We walked with this understanding. “We continue on our way with this understanding,” he said.

‘VERY HEAVY PRICES HAVE BEEN PAID THROUGH THE YEARS’
Stating that Turkey did not kneel down despite the establishment of great schemes through terrorism, Minister Çiftçi said, “We made these lands an eternal homeland with unity, solidarity and brotherhood. We stood together in the army of Sultan Alparslan in Malazgirt. We brought the armies that were called invincible to their knees together in Kut’ül Amare. We said ‘this country is impassable’ in the same trench in Çanakkale. We stood up with the same love of independence in the War of Independence. Today We are the heirs of a great legacy of wisdom that extends from the time of Mevlana to Mela-ye Ciziri. We may have different languages, our tunes may be different, our homeland, our flag and our destiny are the same. They tried to sow discord among us. They wanted to drain the energy of this country, to dry up its resources and to tear its children apart from each other. Many of our brave men marched to martyrdom to defend this land. May God grant our heroic veterans a peaceful life. Huge economic resources have been allocated to the fight against terrorism. The economic burden exceeding 2 trillion dollars clearly shows. resources were spent on development, this beloved nation did not kneel down; it preserved its unity and solidarity. Now, we are on the threshold of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. “The ‘Terror-Free Turkey’ process, which is carried out with the strong support of the Nationalist Movement Party, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli opens a great door of hope. “This process means the strengthening of peace and strengthening of brotherhood and the advancement of the ideal of a Great and Strong Türkiye with firmer steps,” he said.

‘WE SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL THAN EVER’
Stating that the process of a terrorism-free Turkey is a matter of building the Century of Turkey, Minister Çiftçi said, “The National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly is an important step in this historical responsibility. The work carried out shows the will to produce permanent solutions to this issue with the power of representation of the nation. In these days when we are going through a historical period on the issue of terrorism, our Gazi Assembly, which is the manifestation of the national will, has undertaken its duty in this process without hesitation. We, too, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs As the Ministry, we will fulfill every duty we have to ensure that this process is carried out calmly, peacefully and with common sense. We will never compromise on security and order. We will be on the alert against those who attempt to sabotage the process. We will do whatever is necessary to protect the peace of our nation, the preservation of our brotherhood and the dignity and power of our state. “For this reason, we must be more careful than ever. We should not give opportunity to regional evil forces that are uncomfortable with the process of strengthening our unity and strengthening our unity. Because the well-being of this process is not only a matter of today; it is a matter of building the Turkey Century. As the possibility of terrorism disappears, the energy of the region will be directed towards development.”

‘AS THIS REGION IS DEVELOPED, THE CENTURY OF Türkiye WILL BE THE CENTURY OF PEACE’
Stating that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is always on duty for the security of the cities, Minister Çiftçi said: “Today, 81 thousand barrels of oil are produced in Gabar. This production contributes 2 billion dollars to the Turkish economy annually. This energy, this abundance, this opportunity shows that the chains attached to the fate of Şırnak have been broken. As the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we are always on duty for the peace and security of these cities. We are at the disposal of our nation. The life safety, property security, security of every citizen living in this country.” Its belief, culture and belonging are under the guarantee of our state. This nation, with its Turks, Kurds, Alevis and Sunnis, is one heart. With the permission of God, we will make this country more prosperous, stronger and more peaceful together. As this region develops, the ‘Türkiye Century’ will be the century of peace.
