Reaction from AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik to Özel’s words about Özarslan: A complete scandal
Although there are discourses that try to be shaped around maximalist approaches, on the one hand, the goal of a terror-free Türkiye and a terror-free region is progressing within the framework of the principles we have put forward. Regarding this, disinformation, maximalist approaches, extreme discourses that try to go beyond the framework, some wrong approaches or racist discourses that aim to make us lose our focus, that is, to dilute the goal of dissolving the terrorist organization and disarmament, may emerge from time to time. Necessary answers will be given to these where necessary, but we will not lose our focus and will not allow manipulation and provocation to turn us off our path.
While discussing the Syria issue, our esteemed President once again evaluated the importance he attaches to stability in Syria and the value of the one nation and one army approach for the country. They stated that with the elimination of the activities of the terrorist organization based in the northeast of Syria, the process of terror-free Turkey and terror-free zone has been overcome from an important obstacle, and that in the coming period, Syria will continue its path in unity and integrity, within a framework where Arabs, Kurds and Turkmens are the common winners.
A VISUAL DISCOURSE
Dear friends, unfortunately, this politics of hate and hate speech manifests itself as a disease from time to time. One of the clearest examples of this is the hate speech made by an indecent person towards our Eskişehir Mihalgazi Mayor Zeynep Hanım. This statement directed at a mayor who has been elected many times with the votes of our citizens and deserves this position is truly a despicable statement. First of all, I would like to express that the common reaction of our citizens from all segments of society and all views against this hate speech is extremely meaningful and valuable. I would especially like to emphasize that it is extremely valuable for our female citizens from all segments of society to oppose this hate speech and support our mayor. The fact that statements containing common sensitivity have been made by different political parties shows that a national consensus has been formed to stand against the politics of hate. There were allegations that this person was a member of the İYİ Party, and from the first moment the party officials took a very quick decision to discipline and expel him. Mr. Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made a very clear statement and stated that they found this hate speech despicable and that they, as a party, institutionally rejected it. All of these explanations are extremely valuable. We would like to thank once again our citizens, political party leaders and representatives from every party and every opinion who take this stance. However, the greatest gratitude goes to the sensitivity of our female citizens from different views who demonstrate common sensitivity.
Dear friends, another important issue concerns our youth. While our young people continue their education, they also want to adapt to business life before graduating. In this context, the transformation initiated by YÖK in applied education has been implemented and this step will enable our students to move into the field of employment faster. This decision taken by the YÖK Presidency and management is extremely important in terms of meeting the life-related demands of our young people and being a part of employment while receiving education, and we believe that we will see the positive results of this.
SOCIAL MEDIA REGULATION IS COMING
Another issue discussed around the world is social media. We are doing a study on social media. We are carrying out these studies to protect cyber sovereignty as a part of national sovereignty. Our President draws attention to this issue to protect our cyber sovereignty. Remarkable statements are coming from the West on this issue.
They haunt both children and the sovereignty of countries. These are the things we must do to protect our freedom.
Dear friends, the issue regarding Iran is also a topic we need to follow closely. Negotiations have started and we consider it extremely important to resolve the problems through these negotiations. An external intervention in Iran would be based on wrong analyses. There are political and social problems in Iran, but the Iranian society must solve them with its own dynamics.
We do not predict that the intervention will cause great instability and create serious problems from the Middle East to the Mediterranean, from certain parts of Asia to the Caucasus. We know and see this clearly. For this reason, the option of foreign intervention, especially military intervention, should not be brought to the agenda in any way. Of course, the nuclear file is on the agenda, the ballistic missile issue is on the agenda, Iran’s regional policies are on the agenda, but treating all of these as a single bag will not lead to results. Here, it is necessary to use the opportunities and capabilities of negotiation correctly. It would be beneficial to proceed by dealing with these files one by one and solving them one by one, and it is extremely important to stay away from all kinds of external intervention options.
ESPECIALLY OUR YOUNG FRIENDS SHOULD WATCH THE ÖZDEMİR BAYRAKTAR DOCUMENTARY
We have struggled with many areas of tutelage since the first day we came to power. In fact, the most fundamental issue we have been struggling with since the day our party was founded was to pave the way for Türkiye, pave the way for democracy, ensure economic growth and create a revolution of self-confidence in our people. Chief among these was the fight against tutelage. Just as we are fighting against internal tutelage, today, for the reasons I have just stated, it is also necessary to fight against global tutelage, which is created by an unprincipled world represented by technology oligarchs and an order in which institutions are disintegrating. Today, many of our friends who work in our party, ministries and institutions took part in the tutelage struggle under the leadership of our President and became a part of those dark days. It is impossible to remember those days without experiencing them, because it is not easy to describe this darkness by telling it from the outside or writing a book. It is extremely difficult to explain what darkness feels like, what codes it has, and what kind of gloom it creates over a country. No matter how much your literary talent or analysis power you have, no matter how much you explain, there will be no end. Türkiye was living in such darkness and we saw this in many areas. One of the most important dimensions of this was the obstacles placed in front of Türkiye in the field of defense industry. There were internal interventions as well as external ones, to the extent that they harmed Türkiye’s national security. In order to refresh the memories of this process, we would like everyone, especially our young friends, to watch the documentary of the late Özdemir Bayraktar, one of the pioneers of the National Technology Move. When I watched this documentary, I saw new information about the events that took place and felt that some gaps were filled. The examples given by our friends who explained the process there clearly reveal that Türkiye’s struggle against tutelage is a struggle to protect national sovereignty, especially in the field of defense industry, and, in a sense, to protect Türkiye’s political honor. The documentary of Özdemir Bayraktar, a raider for the TEKNOFEST generation, is actually the telling of his own stories. It is your story that is being told. This is the story of how the self-confidence revolution began. It is also seen how people performing seemingly ordinary duties intervene in order to prevent a person or institution, with consequences that could cost the lives of our soldiers. Thus, it is clearly understood how much trouble Türkiye has gone through and reached today. For this reason, I would especially like to express that this documentary, this work that tells the story of a raider who was one of the pioneers of the National Technology Move, is very important for those who are interested in politics, those who are interested in national history, and everyone who wants to understand what is happening in this country from different areas.
WE WILL WALK THE LONG ROADS TOGETHER WITH DEVLET BAHÇELİ
My dear friends, today is also the 57th anniversary of the establishment of the Nationalist Movement Party, our People’s Alliance partner and the long-established plane tree of Turkish politics. We once again commemorate Alparslan Türkeş, the late leader of this movement, which was founded in Adana 57 years ago. We extend our sincerest congratulations to Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, the managers and members of the Nationalist Movement Party. As the People’s Alliance, we have opened very difficult paths, we have fought a great struggle, and God willing, from now on, we will walk longer paths together in terms of both regional policies and domestic politics. On this occasion, we sincerely congratulate once again the 57th anniversary of the Nationalist Movement Party and remember with gratitude everyone who contributed.

Head of Communications Duran: Strong women build a strong society
The opening of the photography exhibition titled “Women Touching Life” was held at the Presidency Directorate of Communications building on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day.
Speaking at the opening, Duran said that the event was organized not only to commemorate a calendar day, but also to emphasize the active role of women in social life.
Referring to the historical transformation of women’s labor, Duran said, “Women’s dignity, labor and social value are, for us, an expression of a deep-rooted understanding that is among the fundamental values of our civilization, beyond a modern search for rights. In our culture, women are an essential subject that establishes and transforms society.” he said.

“STRONG WOMEN BUILD A STRONG SOCIETY”
Duran emphasized that Turkish women took responsibility in the fateful moments of the nation, from the War of Independence to July 15.
Reminding that with the Republic, women gained the right to vote and be elected before many Western countries, Duran reminded that there were also periods in the past when women were excluded from education and business life due to their beliefs.
Duran said:
“Thankfully, the obstacles that occurred during the February 28 period, ranging from university life to the public and private sectors, have been overcome one by one today. Under the leadership of our President, all obstacles to freedom of belief have been eliminated. Turkey has taken important steps to establish equality between men and women, especially in the last 24 years, with public policies and constitutional regulations aimed at strengthening women’s rights.
“WOMEN ARE NOW INVOLVED MORE EFFECTIVELY IN DECISION-MAKING MECHANISMS”
In this process, incentives to increase women’s employment have been implemented, loan and grant programs have been offered to entrepreneurial women, and the actual basis of legal equality has been strengthened with practices such as maternity-nursing leave and child allowance. “Women in Türkiye are now more actively involved not only in the field but also in decision-making mechanisms.”

Stating that the empowerment of women and the strengthening of the family are complementary elements, Duran drew attention to the importance of a life free from violence and economic security.
The exhibition, which was opened to visitors at the Presidential Directorate of Communications Exhibition Hall, includes 41 photographs taken between 1934 and 1986.
In the selection, the stories of women who left their mark in every field of life, from tea harvest workers to ceramic factory employees, from the first female announcers at Ankara Radio to Türkiye’s first female taxi driver, are told.

Discord to the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood! Ugly support for MOSSAD’s black propaganda: Guliyev’s immoral slander against Berat Albayrak and Turkuvaz Media
October 19, 2018: STAR Refinery, built by Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR in Aliağa/Izmir, was opened with a ceremony.
The refinery, where President Erdoğan and President Aliyev cut the ribbon together, became the largest real sector investment made at once in Türkiye with an investment of 6.3 billion dollars.
In his speech at the opening, Erdoğan stated that the STAR Refinery took the relations between the two countries “one step further” and that the economic partnership deepened.
Following previous projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) gas line, the STAR Refinery formed a new link of the strategic energy projects implemented by the two countries with TANAP, which came into operation in June 2018.

30 November 2019: The European connection of the TANAP natural gas pipeline was completed and an opening ceremony was held in İpsala district of Edirne.
At the ceremony attended by President Erdoğan and President Aliyev, most of the Southern Gas Corridor project was completed with the connection of the TANAP line to the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) on the Greek border.
Thus, all infrastructural obstacles to the transmission of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via Turkey were removed.
As of the end of October 2019, Türkiye received a total of 3.18 billion m³ of gas from TANAP, and this amount was planned to be gradually increased to 6 billion m³ per year.
2019 (Commercial Relations): During this period, the trade volume between Türkiye and Azerbaijan increased steadily.
In 2019, bilateral foreign trade volume reached approximately 4.5 billion dollars.
2019 (Investments): Azerbaijan’s direct investments in Türkiye reached historical levels in this period. Especially thanks to energy projects such as the STAR Refinery and Petkim petrochemical facilities, Azerbaijan became one of the countries that invested the most in Türkiye between 2015-2020.
By 2020, Azerbaijan’s total investment in Türkiye approached 20 billion dollars (about 17 billion dollars in energy and 3 billion dollars in non-energy sectors). Similarly, Turkish companies have expanded their activities in Azerbaijan in sectors such as energy, construction, infrastructure, telecom and banking.
February 25, 2020: Important agreements were signed between the two countries within the scope of the 8th High Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting held in Baku.
The most notable was the Preferential Trade Agreement.
With this agreement signed in the presence of President Erdoğan and President Aliyev, it was decided to set annual tariff quotas in 15 mutual product groups and reset customs duties.
The Preferential Trade Agreement is a historic step that aims to remove obstacles to trade between the two countries and increase the volume.
During the same visit, various memorandums of understanding, including an action plan, were signed between the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO).
September – November 2020: During the Second Karabakh War, which started on September 27, 2020 and lasted 44 days, Türkiye provided strong diplomatic support to Azerbaijan.
Turkish officials defended the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan at the highest level and reiterated their calls for an end to the occupation of Armenia.
Türkiye declared that it considered Azerbaijan’s operations based on international law as “its own case”.
After the war ended with Azerbaijan’s victory on November 10, 2020, Türkiye expressed its satisfaction with the result and once again showed that it stood by Azerbaijan in its rightful struggle.
This process reinforced the strategic alliance dimension of the two countries and further strengthened the sense of brotherhood in the public opinion.
As a matter of fact, President Erdoğan expressed this closeness in his statement right after the victory, saying, “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow.”
(2015-2020): Concrete projects and agreements implemented during this period show that Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations have reached a historical peak.
The opening of the TANAP natural gas pipeline and SOCAR investments in the field of energy, the commissioning of the BTK railway in transportation, close cooperation in the field of defense and diplomacy, preferential agreements and increasing volume in trade were evaluated as practical reflections of the “one nation, two states” approach.
ONE OF TANAP’S ARCHITECTS; BERAT ALBAYRAK…
Berat Albayrak, who was slandered as “anti-Azerbaijan”, left his name on the pages of history as one of the architects of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project, which is the symbol of the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood. Albayrak said about TANAP in 2018, “TANAP is also an investment in brotherhood. It is the ideal of two states and one nation crossing borders and reaching new geographies and new people. It is the greatest legacy that the true friendship and affection between the two countries will leave to the future.”
Moreover, the Azerbaijani press describes TANAP as the “project of the century”. In such an environment, attributing “anti-Azerbaijan” to Berat Albayrak is nothing more than a huge contradiction.
