Meanwhile, it was revealed that Güzel committed the crime of endangering traffic safety on November 28, 2021 and was convicted of this crime. It was also determined that he had an ongoing trial for intentional injury. In this context, the court stated that there was not a sufficient opinion that the defendant continued his life in a good manner after the sentence was executed, and rejected the request for the return of prohibited rights with an additional decision. The 10th Criminal Chamber of the Izmir Regional Court of Justice, which examined this decision of the local court upon objection, found the rejection decision to be lawful and rejected the appeal application on merits. The court decision became final on December 8, 2025. Despite the final judicial decision, Mehmet Güzel still continues as the district chairman.

Hacıoğlu said, “When I was in the Netherlands before, I used the drug called marijuana out of curiosity. There were times when I used this substance. I was ordering the substance from the numbers I obtained from drug sales groups on the website Telegram. I never saw these people face to face.
