This is our difference from those who leave people without water

Published

on

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the “Mass Opening Ceremony of 563 Facilities Completed by DSI” held at Beştepe Nation Congress and Culture Center. Erdoğan said the following in his speech:

THE STRUGGLE WILL BE FOR WATER: Water, which has a very important place in our civilization, culture, art and architecture and even our engineering activities, has gone far beyond being a basic resource we need to sustain our lives. The most strategic and valuable resource of a century where power competition is intensifying in every field is water, which is also the main element of production and energy. The struggle for oil and carbon fuels in the last century will be fought in the field of water in the coming period.

2.2 BILLION PEOPLE CANNOT ACCESS DRINKING WATER: When we look at the hot conflicts taking place around us, we can already see the signs of this. Problems caused by factors such as climate change, drought, population growth, excessive urbanization and industrialization increase the pressure on water resources. See, only 2.5 percent of the total water of 1.4 billion cubic kilometers around the world consists of fresh water. Although the world population, which was 3 billion in 1960, has exceeded 8 billion today, when we look at the amount of precipitation falling on the earth in the same period, there has been no change. While the need for clean water resources increases, unfortunately, usable water resources are rapidly decreasing due to rapid consumption and pollution. Today, 2.2 billion people in the world do not have access to healthy drinking water. The climate crisis threatens our water, our source of life, the most. Since we are located in the Mediterranean zone, we are one of the countries that face these threats most harshly.

YOU ARE ONE OF THE COUNTRIES SUFFERING FROM WATER STRESS: Türkiye is in the group of countries suffering from water stress, with an annual usable water amount of 1301 cubic meters per capita. While the world’s average rainfall is 990 millimeters per year, this figure in Türkiye is 574 millimeters per year. We have to protect our water resources before they reach the limit of depletion, use them efficiently and manage them correctly. Here I underline once again that we need to use our water more consciously. I would especially like to express that I expect maximum sensitivity on this issue from all our institutions and all our citizens. We must take care to use not only the water flowing from the tap, but also the water flowing loudly from the river, without wasting it.

EFFECTIVE FIGHT AGAINST FIRES: We are making our preparations against forest fires as quickly as possible. This year, we added 14 new helicopters to our air fleet, increasing the number of helicopters to 119 and our aerial water dropping capacity to 462 tons. We will fight fires much more effectively this year with our 28 aircraft, 14 unmanned aerial vehicles, 2 thousand 766 first response vehicles, 1953 water trucks and 878 work machines.

90 MILLION TONS OF WASTE WERE RECOVERED: Our Zero Waste movement, which was initiated under the leadership of my wife Emine Erdoğan and has turned into a global environmental project today, has left 9 years behind. We recycled 90 million tons of waste with the Zero Waste movement. We contributed 365 billion lira to our country’s economy. We will increase our recovery rate to 60 percent in 2035 and hopefully to 70 percent in 2053.

805 DAMS, 522 PONDS AND WEDDERS IN 23 YEARS

SINCE 2002, we have put into service 805 dams, 522 ponds and dams, 1890 irrigation facilities, 365 consolidation projects, 378 drinking water and wastewater facilities. Meanwhile, we brought 6 thousand 234 flood control facilities, 637 hydroelectric power plants, 148 underground storage and artificial feeding facilities to our country. We have completed 10 thousand 984 facilities, worth a total of 4 trillion 700 billion liras according to current figures, and placed them at the disposal of our nation. With these facilities, we opened 2.5 million hectares of land to irrigation. We contributed 416 billion liras annually to the Turkish economy. We created agricultural employment for a total of 2.2 million people. We carried out consolidation work on an area of 7 million 400 thousand hectares.

ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF 22 BILLION LIRA TO THE ECONOMY

I hope that our 563 new facilities, including 54 dams and ponds, 109 irrigation facilities, 18 drinking water facilities, 11 land consolidation and in-field development services, and 371 flood control facilities, will be auspicious. With these works, whose current investment cost is 137 billion liras, we have developed 896 million cubic meters of water storage capacity and opened 1 million 190 thousand decares of land for irrigation. Likewise, we provide 212 million cubic meters of drinking water annually and purify our drinking water treatment capacity by 301 thousand cubic meters per day. We will protect 505 residential areas and 52 thousand 400 decares of land from the damages caused by floods. These facilities will contribute 22 billion liras annually to our economy.

563 FACILITIES WERE OPENED

After President Erdoğan’s speech, 563 facilities were opened. Erdoğan went live to Adıyaman, Hatay and Muğla and inaugurated the investments completed in these provinces. The opening of Adıyaman Çetintepe Dam, which is Türkiye’s 10th largest in terms of filling volume and will contribute 14 billion lira to the country’s economy annually, Hatay Karasu Regulator and Derivation Channel and Muğla Girme Dam, was held with live connections.

ERDOĞAN ACCEPTED ‘AY YOLA’ MUSIC GROUP

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accepted the “Ay Yola” music group. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Foreign Affairs Commission Fuat Oktay and Presidential Communications Director Burha Nettin Duran were also present at the reception held behind closed doors at the Presidential Complex. ANKARA

WE WILL CONTINUE TO SQUEEZE THE STONE AND EXTRACT THE WATER

THIS year we will complete 300 new water and irrigation facilities. Whether in agriculture, irrigation, transportation or any other field, the main thing is to have vision and will. He who worries about the problems of the country and the nation will serve. Those who serve will find justice and honor in the eyes of the people. The main difference between the incompetent mentality that condemns the people of the capital to thirst for days and queues for water with canisters in their hands in the middle of winter and the mentality that brings investments to our country is determination, love, and the love of serving the nation. We were not among those who found excuses, but rather those who found a way and did the work, and who put one stone after another. We used the resources that our citizens cut their throats and gave to the state to serve our people and produce works. From now on, despite the opportunists who try to create a storm in a glass of water and fill the jug while the water flows, we will continue to squeeze the stone and extract its water and work for this dear nation.

Feminists remained silent about Gaza – Breaking News

Published

on

The 133rd issue of Lacivert magazine, a subsidiary of Turkuvaz Media Group, titled “Women: Victim, threat or exception?” He met with the readers with his file titled. In the remarkable part of the issue, KADEM Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar, made evaluations about the current problems and social perceptions that women face. Bayraktar pointed out that global crises, economic fluctuations and wars further deepen the inequalities experienced by women. Speaking to Lacivert, Bayraktar explained the work and solution suggestions for a social order where women can live in trust, dignity and justice. Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar said: “Women have been exposed to various rights violations in every age and society. Wars, waves of migration and deepening poverty affect women and girls the most. For example, in crisis areas, the rate of girls’ withdrawal from education increases significantly, and the risk of early marriages and abuse increases.

WESTERN HYPOCRITE

The feminist movement brought significant gains in terms of women’s rights in the West. The emphasis on diversity has an important place in this last period. On the other hand, today, like every ideology, feminism is frequently used to camouflage various global political agendas. As a matter of fact, for many years PKK female terrorists were portrayed as “freedom fighters”. In Eastern societies, women who are allegedly oppressed for wanting to uncover their heads can be quickly turned into heroes. The hypocrisy of the West actually applies not only to different cultures but also to its own people. “The fact that thousands of girls and women fell victim to disgusting abuse and even murder in the Epstein scandals is the most striking example of recent times.”

LOCAL VALUES ARE DISCOVERED

“Many of the international feminist movements have remained silent in the face of the humanitarian tragedy experienced by women in Gaza and Syria for years. The solidarity and empowerment struggle of women in Gaza and Syria is of critical importance not only for their own societies, but also from the perspective of universal human rights. KADEM aims to make visible the experiences of women in Gaza, Syria and other regions with its national and international works and social media campaigns. There have been periods in this country when our own history and values were kept at a distance or even ignored due to ideological blindness. In this process, local and “A narrative that mostly highlighted Western figures rather than well-established role models prevailed.”

“EVALUATIONS ARE MADE ON THE BASIS OF INCOMPLETE INFORMATION”

Following the weekly press briefing held at the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry made a statement in response to the questions of members of the press.

In the statement regarding questions about Türkiye’s security approach towards the Black Sea and NATO Headquarters, it was emphasized that recently, in some press and social media channels, evaluations have been made based on incomplete information on Türkiye’s contributions to NATO, the Ukrainian Volunteers Coalition and the activities carried out in the Black Sea, and some concepts have been confused.

In the statement, “First of all, our Ministry is committed to informing the public accurately and on time. In this context, press briefings are held regularly every week and questions of press members are answered. Work on defense and security issues is carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities, and after the process is completed, the necessary information is transparently shared with the public in a way that does not undermine our national security.” expressions were used.

The following statements were made about Türkiye’s basic strategy towards the Black Sea and the NATO and non-NATO multinational Naval Headquarters established by taking the initiative within the framework of this strategy, and the Multinational Corps Headquarters, whose installation works are continuing in Adana:

“There is no compromise on the principle of regional ownership and the Montreux Convention. All work is carried out accordingly. Türkiye’s security approach to the Black Sea is based on preserving the balance and stability provided by the Montreux Straits Convention, and on the priority role of the Black Sea riparian countries in line with the principle of regional ownership. Thanks to this approach, the Black Sea has not turned into a large-scale conflict area today, as it did in the past. Turkey determinedly applied the Montreux provisions to the maritime dimension of the conflict during the Russia-Ukraine war. “Despite the increasing geopolitical competition and security risks in the Black Sea, our country maintains its stance of maintaining stability in the region, preventing tensions from escalating, and ensuring security primarily by the riparian countries. In this regard, Turkey continues to take the initiative to prevent the Black Sea from turning into a competitive area and plays an active role in protecting the regional security architecture.”

“‘UKRAINIAN COALITION OF VOLUNTEERS’ IS A MULTINATIONAL INITIATIVE NOT RELATED TO NATO”

In the statement, it was pointed out that the “Ukrainian Coalition of Volunteers”, in which plans are being made for the security arrangements to be taken in case the Russia-Ukraine War ends with an agreement, and 33 countries have already declared their willingness to participate, is a multinational initiative not related to NATO.

The statement emphasized that the Multinational Ukrainian Force (MNF-U), created within the scope of this initiative, is planned to be managed through the operative headquarters established with core personnel in France, and included the following statements:

“The Maritime Component Command (MCC) mission of this force will be carried out by our country in order to protect security and stability, maintain the principle of regional ownership, and preserve the balance established by the Montreux Straits Convention. In this regard, at the meeting held in Ankara on 15-16 April 2025, an agreement was reached that Türkiye should continue to lead planning activities at the maritime dimension and that the legal framework set out by the Montreux Straits Convention should be taken as basis in planning. Maritime Component Command “The headquarters has been established with a core staff consisting entirely of Turkish personnel as of August 25, 2025. 14 countries have declared contributions to the Naval Component Command, but contributions for naval platforms will be provided only by the coastal countries of Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria.”

This structure, whose main mission is to carry out mine search activities in the Black Sea and contribute to the security of critical underwater infrastructures, operates with the national mine search ships of the participating countries, and its command and headquarters duty is in three countries in 6-month rotations. “The task force is currently carrying out its 9th activation period commanded by our country.”

NATO headquarters statement from the Ministry of National Defense: Türkiye has the second largest army in the Alliance

“SPECULATIVE AND MANIPULATIVE STATEMENTS AND COMMENTS SHOULD NOT BE RELIED ON”

The statement also responded to the allegations regarding the C-130 plane that crashed on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border.

“The statements made by the chairman of a political party targeting our Turkish Armed Forces and with political motives are clear disinformation aimed at misleading the public.” In the statement, the following was noted:

“The statements in question, which are not based on any concrete data, contain unfounded allegations aimed at wearing down our Turkish Armed Forces in the public opinion, and the official statements made are deliberately distorted. In particular, the grave and unfounded statements regarding the incident that crashed on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border and in which 20 of our heroic comrades were martyred are the product of a malicious approach, in which even the number of martyrs is incorrectly stated. The technical investigation regarding our crashed C-130 aircraft was immediately initiated in all its dimensions and meticulously.” “The final report to be prepared will be shared with the public in a transparent manner after the completion of the relevant processes. A criminal complaint has been filed and legal action has been initiated regarding the issue. It is of great importance that unfounded claims and accusations, speculative and manipulative statements and comments that are not based on concrete evidence are taken into consideration on matters concerning our national security.”
