Cevdet Yılmaz: “Türkiye has managed to grow its economy by 35 percent”
“IT WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL AND BEST ORGANIZATIONS IN NATO HISTORY”
Yılmaz explained that in the Turkish Century, Türkiye should undergo a qualitative transformation in every field and be raised to a higher level, and noted that one of the best examples of this is the defense industry.
Emphasizing that more than 80 percent of the products that enter the inventory of the armed forces in Türkiye today are local and national, Yılmaz said, “Our exports exceeded 10 billion dollars last year. We are the 11th exporter in the world in the defense industry. Hopefully, we will be among the top 10 in the near future.” he said.
Cevdet Yılmaz continued as follows:
“We should all know that a country that has not established its own defense industry cannot pursue an independent foreign policy. If Turkey can act independently in foreign policy today, if it can make its own decisions, establish cooperation with its own will, and put forward policies, this is very closely related to the defense industry. Thank God, we have come to a certain point, hopefully we will reach an even better point in the defense industry. Recently, a NATO meeting was held in Türkiye. Probably one of the most successful and best organizations in the history of NATO was held.”
Pointing out the importance of water and energy, Yılmaz said that Türkiye is not a water-rich country, that water consumption per capita is gradually increasing, that this year is a fruitful year, and that more attention should be paid to the issue of water.
Yılmaz stated that Türkiye is a foreign-dependent country in energy, and that the way to permanently reduce the current account deficit is to increase the added value of the industry, on the one hand, and to achieve independence in energy, on the other hand.
“The main target of all coup plotters is the nation”
Explaining that in the last 23 years, tutelage democracy has been eliminated and normal democracy has been established, Yılmaz said that this is a very important development.
Yılmaz emphasized that on July 15, the society defends the nation’s own will and said, “The main target of all coup plotters is the nation, to break the will of the nation. This reckless attack on the authorities, and perhaps on the symbols of the nation, which even the enemy would not attack in war, but would question within himself while attacking, is actually a very clear expression of hostility towards the nation. This is also evidence that coups are non-national. Especially if coups take place in a democratic country, if there is an uprising against the will of the nation, this is an unnational uprising. Therefore, foreign “It means an uprising with connections to international power centers and intelligence services. Thank God, our nation survived these troubles with great sacrifices.” he said.
Stating that Türkiye is fighting against 3 terrorist organizations simultaneously, Yılmaz said:
“PKK, FETO, DAESH… Defeating these organizations simultaneously is not an easy task. The Republic of Turkey did this with political stability. It brought its economy to a point by growing its social policies and democracy. Now we say ‘Terror-free Turkey’. Hopefully, we will achieve this, and we will combine it with the terror-free region. We need to increase regional cooperation in a terrorist-free region. We respect everyone’s state and borders, we have no problems here. We have no eyes on anyone’s land.” “No one should have eyes on our land. We will not allow this.”
Cihannüma Association President Selim Cerrah, AYBİR President Prof. attended the program. Dr. Ebubekir Ceylan and many guests attended.
