In this context, the court stated that there was not a sufficient opinion that the defendant continued his life in a good manner after the sentence was executed, and rejected the request for the return of prohibited rights with an additional decision. The 10th Criminal Chamber of the Izmir Regional Court of Justice, which examined this decision of the local court upon objection, found the rejection decision to be lawful and rejected the appeal application on merits. The court decision became final on December 8, 2025. Despite the final judicial decision, Mehmet Güzel still continues as the district chairman.
