Spain, which has been fighting forest fires for days, thanked Türkiye for sending support to the extinguishing efforts. Türkiye immediately responded to the call for help made through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism due to uncontrolled forest fires in Spain. Ankara dispatched 2 fire extinguishing aircraft to the region with an emergency code to participate in fire extinguishing operations.

Türkiye’s air support move was welcomed in Spain. Spanish politician and European Parliament (EP) member Nacho Sanchez Amor thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Türkiye for this solidarity move against the fire disaster.

IT’S NICE TO HAVE FRIENDS
Drawing attention to the solidarity between the two countries after the planes were sent in the message he shared on social media, Sanchez Amor said, “We thank Turkey and President Erdoğan for sending a plane to help the Spanish authorities in our fight against forest fires. THE FLAMES CANNOT BE EXTINGUISHED
The fight against ongoing forest fires in the capital cities of Madrid and Avila continues. Spain’s Military Emergency Unit (UME) announced that they were fighting three separate fires with 1,200 soldiers and 400 vehicles.

While the candidates could not obtain an absolute majority to be elected in the first two rounds of voting, it was later learned that Erol withdrew his candidacy. In the third round of voting, Öztrak was elected as CHP Group Chairman.

At the CHP closed Turkish Grand National Assembly Group Meeting, following the Group Presidency vote, a vote was taken for the two group deputy chairpersonships.

Balıkesir Deputy Serkan Sarı, İzmir Deputy Rahmi Aşın Türeli, Ordu Deputy Mustafa Adıgüzel, Kars Deputy İnan Akgün Alp, Kütahya Deputy Ali Fazıl Kasap and İzmir Deputy Sevda Erdan Kılıç participated in the election.

As a result of the voting, İzmir MPs Sevda Erdan Kılıç and Rahmi Aşın Türeli were elected as CHP Group Deputy Chairmen.
