Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Kurtulmuş spoke at the Women Parliamentarians Forum
Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, attended the ‘Women Parliamentarians Forum’ within the scope of the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (PAB), hosted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Female parliamentarians from many countries attended the forum. Speaking here, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Kurtulmuş said, “As Turkey, we accept the empowerment of women, protection of the family, strengthening of the social fabric, increasing production capacity and qualification of public life as strategic areas for our social welfare, and we consider the improvement in these areas as the most fundamental duty of our governments.” he said.

‘THIS IS THE CROSSROADS OF CIVILIZATIONS’
Making the opening speech of the forum, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş said, “This is the crossroads of civilizations. It is one of the rare cities, not only in history but also in the world today, where different ideas can come together and where different ideas can be discussed around the same table. I would like to clearly state that the Women Parliamentarians Forum is not an ordinary meeting format. This is a forum where the fundamental issues facing humanity are discussed in more depth, more sensitively and more comprehensively. This is a forum that broadens the horizons of political discussions.” “This meeting in Istanbul is very important in terms of discussing women’s place in decision-making processes, their contributions to the recovery of societies after conflict, and their ideas on establishing an international system based on justice.”
Kurtulmuş said, “Essentially, each of these headings points to areas of responsibility that cannot be postponed in today’s world. The situation we face today is not just a crisis or chaos, or an ordinary issue of tension in terms of the international system. The global problem we face today, which we all follow very closely and feel great concern about from time to time, points to a situation where the multilateral system has lost its effect, the law is applied as a selective law, the reputation of international institutions has begun to erode, and global decision-making processes have become devoid of a sense of justice.”

‘WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF GAZA ARE PAYING THE HEAVIEST BILLS’
Kurtulmuş said, “This picture has extremely shocking consequences, such as the narrowing of diplomatic channels and the severe pressure on human dignity. In the current environment, women and children undoubtedly pay the heaviest price. In almost every conflict zone in the world, in every tension zone and at the center of every conflict we experience internationally, there are the prices paid by women and the hardships women bear. Unfortunately, we bear the heaviest price for the crimes against humanity that have occurred in the ongoing conflicts in our region, especially in Gaza, which have now reached genocidal proportions.” “Women and children in Gaza are paying the price. Likewise, women are the ones who are paying the price for the great migrations, poverty and deprivation that have occurred in many parts of the world. Unfortunately, women are largely the ones who are left in poverty and unprotected situations. On the other hand, when we look at the democratic negotiation tables, it is clear that women are still not adequately represented. This deficiency does not only indicate a problem of representation; this deficiency means a structural gap that delays the socialization of peace and damages its permanence.”

‘THE REAL NEED IS FOR GIRLS TO BENEFIT ENOUGH FROM EDUCATION’
Kurtulmuş said, “The issue of women’s empowerment cannot be considered as a discussion of equality in the narrow sense. This issue is undoubtedly directly related to the quality of democracy, the inclusiveness of the administration, the continuity of development and the healthy preservation of social balance. For this reason, it would be appropriate to consider the negotiations carried out here not as a secondary agenda, but as the main discussion topics of our age. The ideas you put forward are far beyond being a declaration of good will; they affect legislative processes, shape politics and find concrete responses in areas that shape the future of societies. We now clearly know that women are in decision-making power.” Neither justice can be fully established nor a long-lasting climate of peace can be created. At this point, parliaments have a special duty; the strong participation of women in the fields of legislation, control, budget and representation is a fundamental necessity for the construction of more inclusive, resilient and balanced societies. It further deepens women’s lives: Developments that directly affect women’s lives, such as economic contraction, displacement, increased income inequality, social insecurity and deterioration in access to educational opportunities, are of great concern to almost all countries globally. Violence against women cannot be separated from the strengthening of economic justice, increasing the resilience of societies, and the attitude to be developed against violence carries legal, humanitarian, moral and political responsibilities. The determination shown in this field is undoubtedly one of the most important indicators of the level of civilization of societies. As Turkey, we consider the empowerment of women, the protection of the family, the strengthening of the social fabric, and the improvement of public life as strategic areas for our social welfare, and we consider the improvement in these areas as the most fundamental duty of our governments. With this understanding, we are taking multifaceted steps in a wide range from education to employment, from social support mechanisms to decision-making processes. I would like to express that the issue should not only be seen as offering opportunities. The real need is to establish a fair environment in which women’s knowledge, experience, intuition and political knowledge can be fully reflected in public life. The most important thing is that girls benefit from education adequately, families can live in dignity and human dignity is protected under all circumstances. In this respect, I wholeheartedly believe that the views and proposals that will emerge within the scope of the forum will make strong contributions to the work of the 152nd General Assembly. used.

Harsh reaction from AK Party Ankara Provincial Chairman Özcan to Özgür Özel: Provocation is the last refuge of those who spew hatred instead of service
Hakan Han Özcan, who criticized CHP leader Özgür Özel and the party policy in his written statement, argued that the opposition was struggling with a lack of vision. Özcan used the following statements:
“Those who think they are doing politics by insulting our President in order to hide seat wars within their own party underestimate the patience of the nation, the dignity of the state and the red lines of Türkiye.”
“DIRTY LANGUAGE IS A DIRECT ATTACK ON THE NATION’S ELECTION”
Emphasizing that President Erdoğan represents the national will, Özcan continued his statement by touching on the developments in front of the parliament as follows:
“Everyone should know this; Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the leader to whom this nation has entrusted its will many times. The dirty language that extends to that will is not only an attack on one person, but also a direct attack on the nation’s choice, the reputation of our state and Türkiye’s achievements. Street language and provocation are the last refuge of those who cannot put forward a single vision for the country, those who cannot produce projects, and those who spew hatred instead of service. The ugly slogans shouted in front of the Parliament yesterday are not a democratic right, but an expression of political collapse.”
“Türkiye IS RISING WITH ITS WORKS AND SERVICES POLITICS”
Drawing attention to the government’s action-oriented policy, AK Party Ankara Provincial Chairman stated that they trust the common sense of the nation and concluded his words as follows:
“Turkey rises on the shoulders of those who walk the road with the politics of work and service, not those who feed on chaos. Our nation clearly sees who represents the seriousness of the state and who is trying to divide society with the language of anger and hatred.”

Lawless provocation – Breaking News
Özgür Özel and his staff, who were temporarily suspended from the post of CHP Chairman by the court after the ‘absolute nullity’ decision given as a result of the ‘dubious congress’ case in CHP, resorted to all kinds of provocations in order not to implement the decision to evacuate the CHP Headquarters. Özel supporters, who beat the party members who supported Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as CHP Chairman by the court, and prevented him from entering the building, barricaded the entrance and turned the building into a conflict area. CHP member Mahmut Tanal sprayed water on the police forces with a hose. After Kılıçdaroğlu’s application for the implementation of the court decision, security forces entered the building. While the party members inside resisted the police, Özgür Özel tore up the court order regarding the evacuation of the building. After the evacuation, he climbed onto a TOMA. The tension in CHP took place step by step as follows:

HIS LAWYER APPLIED TO THE SECURITY
Celal Çelik, the lawyer of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was first reinstated as CHP Chairman, applied to Ankara Provincial Police Department in his capacity as CHP lawyer and said, “We request that the necessary procedures be taken regarding the handing over of the party headquarters to us.” Çelik noted, “Despite all the constructive initiatives and efforts of the MPs to meet, even the MPs were not allowed into the headquarters, and despite attempts to establish a constructive dialogue, no results were achieved.”

EVACUATION INSTRUCTION FROM THE GOVERNORSHIP
After Ankara Governorship gave an evacuation order to the police, police teams took extensive security measures in front of the headquarters. Deputies and politicians close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu walked arm in arm to the headquarters. Deputies who came for consultation were not allowed in and were severely insulted. A fight broke out between the two groups, and stones and water bottles flew in the air.

PERCEPTION OPERATION DID NOT HELP
Approximately 700 Kılıçdaroğlu supporters waited in front of the party building for long hours for the evacuation process. In this process, the headquarters wing embarked on a perception operation that drew reactions with the claim that “They brought armed, knife-wielding, mafia people here.” Those who came to take over the building reacted by saying, “No one can slander us. They are trying to gain time with lies.” He attacked pro-private party members and party members who came to support Kılıçdaroğlu.

THEY WERE NOT APPROACHING COMPROMISE
Although Özgür Özel and his staff held token consultations with Orhan Sarıbal and Mahir Polat, the leading deputies of the Kılıçdaroğlu wing, they did not come to a compromise. Murat Emir, group deputy chairman of the headquarters wing, claimed that “They had previously decided to meet with Polat and Sarıbal at 12 o’clock to clarify the date of the congress, but the situation changed in the morning.” However, MPs close to Kılıçdaroğlu denied this.

THEY ATTACKED THE POLICE
After a while, the police started preparations to enter the headquarters and entered by destroying the iron garden gate. Groups supporting Özgür Özel set up a barricade by piling items such as sofas and chairs inside the entrance of the building to prevent the police from entering. The group sprayed fire extinguishers at the police and threw items such as water bottles and sticks at the police. The entrance of the building turned into a war zone. Police took the building under control in a short time. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that an investigation was launched into the incidents in which one person was injured.

HE TEARED HIS EVACUATION NOTIFICATION
Enforcement officers entered the building under the security measures of the police and carried out the evacuation procedures in accordance with the court decision. Özgür Özel tore up the notification sent to him by the bailiffs. Özel and his team left the CHP Headquarters at 15.40. Speaking under police protection in the garden of the party building, Özel continued his perception operation. Özel, who described Kılıçdaroğlu’s supporters as “criminal types”, called the party members to the streets, saying, “From now on, CHP is on the streets, in the square.” Özel was booed by some Kılıçdaroğlu supporters as he exited the building. Some shouted, “There is a thief at the party.”

MAHMUT TANAL SPRAYED WATER WITH A HOSE
CHP Deputy Mahmut Tanal climbed onto the entrance hut in front of the party building. Tanal tried to spray water on the security forces with a hose. Kılıçdaroğlu supporters gathered in front of the headquarters and shouted slogans such as “Get down, you rude”, “Hortumcu Mahmut”, “FETO out”. Shortly after, Mahmut Tanal had to go down.

TOMA PROVOCATION BY ÖZEL
Özgür Özel, who marched to the Turkish Grand National Assembly after being removed from the headquarters, climbed on top of a TOMA during the march. This attitude of Özel, who attempted a new provocation in order to draw citizens to the streets even more, attracted reaction.
‘FOLLOW THE COURT DECISION’
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, “I request CHP organizations to comply with the requirements of the court decision and the judiciary, police personnel and all public officials who try to take action in accordance with the decision of the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice.” It was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu, who followed the process from his home, will go to CHP Headquarters after the holiday.

They robbed our friend and recorded it on video – Last Minute News
Gazans have been experiencing this persecution for 60 years
Doctor Şeyma Denli Yalvaç: They treated our headscarved friends very badly. Unfortunately, they took off their scarves and behaved in even more ugly ways. I don’t know how true it is to say this, but they stripped one of our friends naked and recorded it on video. Many of our friends were subjected to very bad intervention. We even have friends whose ribs were broken and who received electroshocks. We could only do this much. This is what we can do. We could not stand the oppression imposed by Israel for 5 days, but Gazans have been experiencing this oppression for 60 years. What we suffered is nothing compared to what they suffered.
‘THIS BARBARIAN ISRAELI REGIME MUST BE DISTRIBUTED’
Doctor Margaret Connolly, sister of Irish President Catherine Connolly, who is detained by Israel: What is being done to us is nothing compared to what is being done to the Palestinians. This cruel, barbaric regime must be dismantled! The USA, Germany, England and France finance this regime. All Western governments stand behind Israel. We must not allow those who treat people like dogs, keep them underground, and steal a country that does not belong to them. I have never seen such an ugly, disgusting intervention by an army.
‘THEY TORTURED EVERYWHERE’
Activist Hüseyin Kılıç: They tortured wherever there was no camera. They tortured an Amazonian woman. When the woman screamed, the Israeli police kicked the woman in the head. They made us listen to the Israeli anthem for hours. We understood the extent of the oppression inflicted on Gazans.
