'Dude' statement from Minister Gürlek: Haluk Levent used his charity money in betting

“245 MILLION DOLLARS COLLECTED FOR THE EARTHQUAKE WAS TRANSFERRED TO PERSONAL ACCOUNT”

Drawing attention to the solidarity shown by citizens and philanthropists after the February 6 earthquakes, Gürlek noted the following regarding the use of the collected aid funds:

“During the earthquake, 245 million dollars of aid was collected within the Friends Association. The critical issue here is that the collected money was transferred to Haluk Levent’s personal account. In his statement, the suspect admitted that he was in debt due to gambling and betting and withdrew money from the association.”

Stating that the investigations determined that 990 million TL worth of bets were placed on legal betting platforms, Gürlek said, “It is a crime to withdraw the money sent by our citizens for earthquake victims out of philanthropy and goodwill for personal use and use it in gambling. Our judicial authorities continue the process meticulously.”

FETO TRACE IN MUHSİN YAZICIOĞLU FILE

Minister Gürlek, who conveyed the latest developments regarding the investigation of late BBP founding Chairman Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, said: “Previously, the file was in another chief prosecutor’s office. Then, our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office received the file. Expert teams are examining it. Here we saw this. Our friends, our chief prosecutor’s office saw this. There is an organization here. There is very serious evidence that this work was done by FETO. As you know, an operation was carried out recently. 19 people were arrested. 21 people were detained. Now it is here.” “There are very serious evidence, which I have examined myself, showing that this particular massacre against FETO was an organization of FETO.”

ATTRACTIVE FINGERPRINT DETAIL

Stating that there are remarkable details in the file, Minister Gürlek said, “Especially before the helicopter had an accident, that is, before it crashed, an F-4 plane passed over it. Of course, reports had been received on this issue before. Especially, whether the helicopter crashed because of the passing of this F-4 plane or whether it crashed due to weather conditions and other deficiencies of the helicopter. Of course, the pilot who flew the F-4 plane and other connections are being investigated. Especially the fingerprints of the wife of the pilot who flew the F-4 plane at that time, especially at Adil Öksüz’s house.” Later, phone calls of this pilot with the ‘Air Force imam’ and the ‘private imam’ come out on those dates,” he said.

“THERE IS A STRONG SUSPICION”

Minister Gürlek stated that there was an opinion that FETO carried out this action at the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and said, “Last time, you know, the Elazığ provincial imam was arrested. His ByLock correspondence was released. In the ByLock correspondence of the Elazığ provincial imam, especially with someone from the civil service, there is a correspondence saying ‘we got this job done as quickly as possible. Our elder was especially very worried about this process. He is very pleased with how it ended.’ From here, friends are investigating all the evidence. The investigation is still ongoing. But as far as we can see, there is an organization here. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office formed an opinion that the late Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu was targeted by FETO and that the organization carried out such an action. There will probably be more to come. But here is the first evidence, I have examined the file myself, I was also the chief prosecutor. As far as I can see, the murder of the deceased was committed as a result of an organization by FETO. “There is a suspicion, a serious suspicion, a strong suspicion. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office will probably re-evaluate the situation as evidence emerges,” he said.

“OPERATIONS MAY EXPAND WITHIN THE SCOPE OF NEW EVIDENCE”

Reminding that the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out the investigation, Minister Gürlek said, “Now, of course, the prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation. It may conduct an operation again within the scope of new evidence. In other words, FETO’s contacts are being investigated. In particular, the contacts of those who were given an arrest warrant in custody, their contacts with FETO, their HTS analysis studies, who they last met with, this organization will definitely continue. After all, if it is a FETO organization, but here it is at the discretion of our prosecutor’s office, the authority conducting the investigation, the prosecutor’s office will continue the investigation or when.” “We don’t know if he will do it,” he said.

GULISTAN TISSUE INVESTIGATION

Referring to the Gülistan Doku investigation, Minister Gürlek said:

“Gülistan Doku, both our Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and our Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, are responsible for two chief prosecutors’ offices. Since there is a governor there, the authority to investigate the governors belongs to the nearest provincial chief prosecutor’s office. Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office looks after it. And the place where the crime was committed is looked after by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. As far as I know, a new operation was carried out. Here, I know that the wife of the then governor of Tunceli, the Protectors, and the personnel who deleted some hospital records are now in custody or have been referred to arrest. The investigation continues.

Especially there is Umut Altaş. This is our key point regarding this. We issued a red notice. As you know, he is now in America, he was arrested in the USA. A voice recording file of a person he met in prison was presented as evidence. I don’t know if you followed. Here, especially Umut Altaş has very important confessions. But of course, we insistently want Umut Altaş to be brought to Türkiye. We also met with the US authorities here. An extradition hearing is taking place there. The process is going positively now. In my opinion, Umut Altaş is the most important eyewitness of the incident. Especially a close friend of the child, that is, the suspect. He is also a close friend of Gülistan Doku. Here Gülistan Doku is in the prime of her life. A young brother of ours. They have hopes, they have a future. Likewise, we handled the files of Rojin Kabaiş and our other brothers. There is currently an ongoing process in Gülistan Doku. “We still have two chief prosecutors’ offices.”

Waste barriers to 29 rivers in the Mediterranean

Published

on

In cooperation with Antalya Governorship, Zero Waste Foundation and Antalya Blue Mediterranean Initiative, ‘Leave Your Mark on the Future – Plastic-Free July Meeting’ was held in the historical Phaselis South Port in order to protect marine ecosystems and raise awareness against waste pollution in the seas. Governor Hulusi Şahin examined the sea cleaning works carried out in Phaselis South Port with the accompanying delegation. Referring to the plastic waste that washed up on the shores of Antalya in recent weeks, Governor Şahin said, “We examined where they came from. The first findings point to plastics coming from Türkiye’s cities on the Mediterranean coast and from other countries. In the first investigations, we also encountered plastics with writings in foreign languages. This shows the fact that the Mediterranean is actually a big pool and pollution in one place affects another place.”

Pointing out that the problem is a common problem not only in Antalya but also in the entire Mediterranean basin, Governor Şahin said that they are focused on taking concrete measures in the short term. Governor Şahin said, “There are 29 rivers in Antalya and we know that certain pollution and plastics from these rivers reach the sea and from the sea to our shores. Therefore, we are seeking to expand the use of barriers within the framework of our initiative to prevent these. Our Metropolitan Municipality is working on this issue. We will put barriers at the mouths of all 29 rivers with the contributions of our sponsors and supporting companies. We started this practice in some of our rivers in the first place and will continue.” Zero Waste Foundation President Samed Ağırbaş said, “In the coming days, we will hold a meeting about plastic pollution in Antalya with the representatives of our Antalya Governorship and 14 ministries. Everyone is exposed to 5 grams of microplastic per week, and we inadvertently ingest microplastic into our bodies. This is harmful to both our country’s economy, the health of our citizens, and our individual economy.”

The Turkish-flagged dry cargo ship “Mv Reyhan Sarı” was attacked off the coast of Novorossiyk on the night of July 21, while it was on its way to bring the coal cargo it received from Russia’s Taman Port to Trabzon. While the attack with a kamikaze drone caused damage, Savaş Çakar (54), who worked in the engine room, lost his life. The 2 injured crew members were transported to Samsun by Coast Guard helicopter. The ship arrived at Trabzon Port yesterday morning. The ship was first scanned for explosives by bomb expert teams. Then, the body of Savaş Çakar, who lost his life in the attack, was taken out from under the iron piles. OUR PAIN IS TOO GREAT

Our pain is great.” Meanwhile, images of the attack emerged. The moments when the ship was targeted were caught on camera.

‘Sign, dear, no dishes left, the president’s order’

Published

on

The trial of 63 defendants, 37 of whom are detained, continues, including CHP’s detained defendant Mustafa Bozbey, who was suspended from his post as Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, and CHP’s Turgay Erdem, former Mayor of Nilüfer Municipality, as part of the bribery and corruption investigation carried out in Bursa. In the third hearing of the case heard at Bursa 2nd High Criminal Court, Selda Nartop, an employee of the Eski Nilüfer Municipality Planning Directorate, was heard. Nartop said, “Ayşegül Erkol, my superior, put heavy hierarchical pressure on me. My freedom to examine the file was restricted with expressions such as ‘the president said let’s solve it’, ‘the district president’s job’, ‘sign it so I don’t have any trouble’, ‘let there be no mess’ in the message records I submitted. It can be seen in the documents that she stated the names of high-level officials and individuals and stated that I should approve it immediately, otherwise I would have a headache.”

INSTEAD OF A DEFENSE, HE SLAMMED
Another name whose defense was taken at the HEARING was Ayşegül Erkol, former Director of Zoning and Urbanization of Nilüfer Municipality, who is one of the names at the center of corruption allegations. Erkol, who was expected to defend himself before the judge, instead of defending himself, reproached the then Mayor, CHP’s Turgay Erdem. Stating that he has been a civil servant for 32 years, Erkol said, “I told Erdem that I wanted to be the deputy mayor. However, I was not appointed to this position. If I had been appointed to this position, my pension would have been higher. I am resentful. I was not involved in the bribery process.”

Treasury aid should be distributed according to the number of MPs

Published

on

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, while evaluating Manisa Deputy Özgür Özel’s decision to leave CHP and establish a new party, also made a suggestion regarding the distribution of “Treasury” aid. Bahçeli said that the Treasury aid to the parties should be distributed according to the number of MPs they have. Bahçeli answered Özgür Özel’s questions about leaving CHP and establishing a new party. Bahçeli said, “A new party is emerging from the CHP. There have been signals of this for a long time, and various lists have been published to the public about how many deputies will go. Some say 80, some say 90, but ultimately a new party is being established. In addition, another topic of discussion is how the assets will be distributed.” Bahçeli continued his words as follows: “If a new party emerges from the CHP and the assets of the CHP, such as buildings and official vehicles, remain with the existing party, in such a case; it is ethical to transfer a share of the 1 billion 815 million liras paid from the treasury to the CHP in 2026, from the treasury aid in proportion to the number of deputies who left the CHP and transferred to the new party.”
