Europe without Turkey is doomed to political drought

Published

on

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party’s group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. On Bahçeli’s agenda was the President of the European Union Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who recently used an exclusionary language against Türkiye with the words “We must succeed in completing the European continent so that it does not fall under Russian, Turkish or Chinese influence.” Bahçeli said, “This word coming from the mouth of the President of the European Commission cannot be seen as an accident of language, it is an expression of the classification, arrogance and double standards that lie deep in the mind.” Here are the highlights of Bahçeli’s words: It has been stated in his own circles that this arrogant language is ‘geopolitically problematic’, ‘detached from reality’ and ‘double standard’. In fact, the same circles had to remind that ‘Türkiye is a fundamental ally in terms of European security, a vital artery in terms of energy lines and resources, a key partner in terms of migration management and an indispensable power in terms of regional balance’. This attitude is flawed in terms of political morality and inconsistent in terms of strategic wisdom. This attitude cannot produce a language of partnership, create sincerity, or build a climate of trust.

DOUBLE-FACED EUROPEAN MENTALITY

Türkiye is right in the middle of geopolitical nodes, a key point and a key gate. In this short-sighted international arena, the issue is not where Türkiye stands, but where the European Union is heading. The issue is not Türkiye’s stance, but the self-interested, hypocritical European mentality that wants to exclude Türkiye when necessary and use it when necessary.

This picture is not new, Europe is faced with its own political blindness today. If Europe does not base the language it uses against Türkiye on the basis of justice, equity and rationality, if it still thinks that it is in the comfort of the old sense of hierarchy, if it continues to see Türkiye as ‘an element to be called upon in times of need and kept away when relieved’, it will face a political drought that will leave its own field fallow. History has witnessed many times how the centers that put their arrogance ahead of their reason were dissolved.

I am calling out here to all European opinion in the person of Ms. Ursula. We are the Republic of Türkiye, the embodiment of a great civilization whose roots go deep into Asia, whose branches extend to the European horizon, and whose shadow falls on Africa. Those who try to show us a narrow place are the ones who still haven’t realized that great nations cannot be understood with map tables. Turkey cannot be seen as an element that comes when ‘come’ is said and goes when ‘go’ is said. Türkiye is a friend, but its friendship is not open to insult. Anyone who wants to establish relations with Turkey must first take into account the honor of this nation, the dignity of this state and the weight of this history, and everyone should know this very well: Turkey is not only a state of comfortable days. This nation has a high pain threshold. This state’s crisis memory is deep. Turkey is the current name of a deep-rooted state tradition that does not waver in times of turmoil, does not panic in times of high pressure, and turns anger into reason in the face of provocation, tension into strategy, and threat into will. There have been many states that became disoriented when tensions rose. Türkiye, on the other hand, is a state that maintains its sense of direction even in the most difficult times, combines coolness with strength, and complements patience with strength.

Our direction has been shaped within the great historical line that has been in contact with the West for centuries, knowing the West, struggling with it when necessary, negotiating with it when necessary. Brussels cannot show us where we have come from, nor can the European bureaucracy tell Türkiye the path it will follow. This can only be decided by the state mind, which operates under the rule of national interest. I am stating this clearly: Europe cannot do without Turkey. It cannot be done in security, energy, migration management, transportation, or while establishing regional balance.

MHP IS THE ONLY CASTLE OF TURKISH NATIONALISM

May 3 Nationalists’ Day has a distinguished place in the history of existence of Turkish nationalism. MHP is the only bastion of Turkish nationalism, the bastion of those who dissolve their existence in the existence of the state and the nation, the last refuge of those whose yeast is intact, whose salt is not stinky, whose lines are not crooked, who have not deviated from the target, who have not strayed from the path, and the “only home” of those comrades who combine Turkish pride and consciousness with Islamic morality and virtue in their souls.

WE HAVE THE POWER TO REMIND THOSE WHO TRY TO SHOW US THEIR PLACE.

Türkiye cannot be seen as a country condemned to European classifications. Türkiye is history, state, memory, geography, center, truth even without Europe. Our wish is this: Europe will confront these immoderations that have permeated the mind. Let him do his accounting with reality, not with slogans. It should renew its language against Türkiye with rationality, not with the calculation of self-interest. Because this is not the age of centers that despise each other, this is the age of states that can read the truth. Because this age is the age of reason, not of habits. Because this is the age of searching for new balance, not of memorization. I declare once again that the Republic of Türkiye will not be an extra in the scenario written by others. He will not be weighed in the scales placed by others. He will not walk in the paths ordered by others. We have the power to remind those who try to show us their place. We have a memory that will show horizons to those who attempt to draw boundaries for us. We have the will to respond to those who try to put us to our limits through history, geography and state reason.

TERRORISM-FREE Türkiye WILL HELP THE REGION BREATHE

It is important that the President of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Mehmet Seman Ağa, was elected as the Governor of Kirkuk. This development re-declared that the Turkmen presence in Kirkuk cannot be postponed, ignored or erased. Just as the blessed goal of the Türkiye Century is ‘Terror-Free Türkiye’, where peace reigns and is free from terrorism, our desire in our heartland is also in the same direction. As Turkey gets rid of the scourge of terrorism, the new order established in Kirkuk will breathe new life into the region. Our wish is for a Turkey free from division, domination and terrorism, and a regional climate where peace and brotherhood take root. The century is the century of Türkiye, we will not forget neither Kirkuk nor Mosul.

WORLD MEDIA: Türkiye IS A KEY ACTOR

EUROPEAN Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s words, “We must complete the European continent in a way that does not fall under Russian, Turkish or Chinese influence”, sparked discussions about the relations between Türkiye and the European Union (EU). Discussing why the EU needs Türkiye’s influence in the Western Balkans, the foreign press stated that Türkiye is not a threat to Europe in the region, but a key actor that reinforces stability. In an analysis published in The Caspian Post, why the European Union needs Türkiye’s influence in the Western Balkans was discussed. In the analysis, it was stated that Türkiye is not a threat in the region, but a natural actor that reinforces stability. While it was noted that Europe would not be able to fill the power vacuum that would arise without Türkiye’s influence in the region, Ankara was shown as a key actor in preserving the peace environment in the region.

Minister Göktaş: “An investment in children is an investment in the future of the country”

Published

on

Minister Göktaş attended the Arnavutköy Anadolu Neighborhood Mass Opening and Groundbreaking Ceremony, where the Family Counseling Center, Family Health Center, kindergarten, parking lot and car wash facility, which were completed by Arnavutköy Municipality, were opened and the foundation of the Arnavutköy Art and Vocational Training Course (ASMEK) building was laid.

Minister Göktaş: Investing in children means investing in the future of the country.

Stating that investments ranging from education to consultancy, from health to infrastructure, from vocational training to production will offer new opportunities to the social life of the district, Göktaş thanked Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu and his team who contributed to the implementation of the projects.

Stating that what makes a city valuable is not only its streets and buildings, but also how people are touched is important, Göktaş said, “The city where the child grows up safely, where the family finds a hand next to them, and where the elderly are remembered, becomes truly beautiful. Life becomes more peaceful and fruitful where the path for the young is paved and the labor of the woman is rewarded.” he said.

Stating that the work and service approach put forward by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is to expand cities with services that center people, make life easier and touch every household, Göktaş said that the investments that were opened and the foundations of which were laid in Arnavutköy are a concrete reflection of this approach.

“INVESTMENT IN A CHILD IS THE MOST VALUABLE INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY”

Emphasizing that the Arna Children’s Kindergarten, which was opened, is important in terms of providing children with quality education at an early age, Göktaş stated that here children will learn and develop through play, and will experience friendship, sharing and self-expression at an early age.

Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said, “We know that investing in a child is the most valuable investment in the future of a country. I believe that our kindergarten will be a good start to the lives of many of our children.” he said.

Stating that the Family Counseling Center will be an important source of support for families, Göktaş said, “In this center, family, child and adolescent counseling, individual counseling, group therapies, training seminars and dietician services will be provided. It will enable our families to easily access the support they need, and will provide a safe environment where our children and young people can express themselves better and become stronger with the right guidance. The Family Health Center will connect our citizens with health services faster and easier with its modern infrastructure.” he said.

Stating that ASMEK, the foundation of which was laid, has a special importance for the district, Minister Göktaş explained that citizens will be offered the opportunity to acquire a profession through the trainings to be given at the center. Göktaş said, “Here, our brothers and sisters will gain new skills, turn their own labor into production, and contribute to the family economy. In this respect, ASMEK will offer important opportunities, especially for women and our youth.” he said.

Noting that the inaugurated parking lot and car wash facilities will make the daily life of citizens easier, Göktaş said that the steps taken today will contribute to the joy of children, the peace of families, the labor of young people and the future of Arnavutköy.

Emphasizing that, as the Ministry, they will continue to support every service that focuses on the family, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş noted that they will strengthen cooperation with local governments and expand services that meet the needs of citizens of all ages.

“WE WILL LAY THE FOUNDATION OF THE DISABLED LIFE CENTER IN ARNAVUTKÖY SOON”

Explaining that new social service investments will be implemented in Arnavutköy, Göktaş said, “Hopefully, we will lay the foundations of an Accessible Life Center in Arnavutköy in a short time. Likewise, we will increase the number of nurseries. We will lay the foundations of our day children’s centers and child care centers for the 0-6 age group, which also appeal to 0-3 years old, in Arnavutköy soon.” he said.

Minister Göktaş also touched upon the “10 Years of Family and Population” vision and concluded his words as follows:

“We see all these services as permanent investments that strengthen people and society, and we greatly appreciate the efforts of our local governments in this direction. Because we know that family-friendly cities start with child-friendly places. They are strengthened with consultancy and guidance services. They come to life in centers where women, young people and citizens of all ages participate in production. The 10 Years of Family and Population will take this understanding further. The next 10 years will be the name of a new era that strengthens the family and brings our cities together with family-friendly services.”

Arnavutköy Mayor Candaroğlu stated that the municipality’s service approach is based on producing works and investing in the future of the district and said:

“We produce solutions, not excuses. We continue to add value to our Arnavutköy with a management approach that plans for the future, not the day. Of course, we implement all these services thanks to a strong state will and harmony between our institutions. We continue to resolutely contribute to the Turkey Century vision put forward under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with our works, investments and services from our Arnavutköy.”

After the speeches, a prayer was made, Minister Göktaş and Mayor Candaroğlu cut the mass opening and groundbreaking ribbon with the children.

Great interest in the DOA application, which started in 81 provinces! First Lady Erdoğan: It will add value to our country’s economy

Great interest in the DOA application, which started in 81 provinces! First Lady Erdoğan: It will add value to our country's economy

1 TL INCENTIVE FEE CAN BE EARNED FOR EACH PACKAGING

Öztürk stated that the DOA system is a holistic system that enables the separate collection of plastic, glass and aluminum beverage packaging at the source, their digital monitoring and their re-introduction to the economy.

“Our citizens will be able to earn an incentive fee of 1 lira for each suitable packaging by delivering plastic, glass and aluminum beverage packaging with the DOA logo to deposit return machines or manual return points.” Öztürk said, “In order to support the fair and sustainable functioning of the system for individual returns, we have determined 200 packages as a daily upper limit. The incentive fee will be transferred to the DOA wallet. Our citizens will be able to transfer their accumulated balances to their bank accounts, withdraw them from ATMs or use them for shopping.” he said.

Öztürk stated that the system consists of 3 phases and that they tested the 1st phase with a pilot application in Sakarya last year and said, “We are moving to the 2nd phase, that is, the national integration process. The DOA system has now reached the level to be implemented in 81 provinces and 973 districts. The 3rd and last phase will be the full dissemination period.” he said.

Pointing out that their goal is to transform the system into a permanent structure that can be easily accessed by citizens working at the same standards in every corner of Türkiye, Öztürk said:

“Every year, approximately 25 billion beverage packages become waste. When these packages are brought together, they create a volume that would cover approximately 100 thousand football fields. In other words, enough plastic, glass and aluminum packaging to fill approximately 100 thousand football fields are released into nature every year. We are implementing one of the world’s largest warehouse management systems to change this situation.”

Öztürk stated that within a year, they will put into service at least one deposit return point that citizens can easily reach in every neighborhood of Türkiye and said, “We will also continue to support our businesses in this process. While the number of deposit return machines increases, we will also provide the necessary field equipment to manual return points and ensure their strong participation in the system.” He made a statement.

Great interest in the DOA application, which started in 81 provinces! First Lady Erdoğan: It will add value to our country's economy

“APPROXIMATELY 65 PERCENT OF 25 BILLION PACKAGING IS IN OUR HOTELS, RESTAURANTS AND CAFES”

Öztürk stated that they carry out the DOA system with a comprehensive infrastructure in which the entire process from producer to consumer, from return points to recycling facilities is managed digitally.

Stating that while markets, supermarkets, grocery stores and kiosks serve as return points for citizens, hotels, restaurants and cafes make a significant contribution to the recycling chain by bringing their own packaging into the system, Öztürk said, “I would like to underline the role of our hotel, restaurant and cafe businesses. Approximately 65 percent of the 25 billion packages we mentioned are in our hotels, restaurants and cafes. Therefore, every packaging collected in these businesses will directly contribute to our recycling and recovery targets. Moreover, our businesses deliver them in bulk.” “They will also receive an incentive fee of 20 kuruş for each package with the DOA logo.” he said.

Öztürk explained that businesses will complete their registration through the warehouse information management system and work with authorized operators, adding, “Collection, transportation and verification processes will be carried out in a safe, orderly and traceable manner thanks to this structure.” he said.

Pointing out that natural resources will be used more efficiently with the DOA system, Öztürk continued his words as follows:

“We will ensure that the quality recycled raw materials needed by our industry are met at a higher rate domestically and accelerate and strengthen the circular economy. The economic impact of this transformation is also extremely important. We foresee an annual decrease of 35 to 40 percent in beverage packaging raw material imports. This development will positively affect production costs and make a significant contribution to reducing the trade deficit, which will reduce foreign dependency. We foresee that the DOA system will bring an annual economic value of approximately 30 billion lira to the Turkish economy. In the next 20-30 years.” “We expect the system to create employment for 20 thousand people.”

Great interest in the DOA application, which started in 81 provinces! First Lady Erdoğan: It will add value to our country's economy

MACHINES WERE DEVELOPED BY LOCAL INDUSTRIALISTS

Öztürk stated that they ensure that strategic raw materials are brought back into the economy within Türkiye and that DOA is not only an environmental practice but also resource security.

Pointing out that the machines used in the field were developed by domestic industrialists, Öztürk said that the technology developed by Türkiye in this field and the operation model it established will constitute an important reference for many countries that will establish a deposit system in the future.

After his speech, Öztürk sat in front of the DOA machine and demonstrated in practice how the device works.
