How many thousand Turkish pilgrims are in Mecca?
You will deliver our voice to our country all over the world through a news. We will try to explain our pilgrimage organization as far as our language has returned. We are a big country. We strive to make our pilgrimage organization in the most incomplete way in a way that suits the size of our country. We have 85 thousand pilgrims here. We are trying to organize 85 thousand pilgrims with our teacher with up to 4 thousand staff.

We have teams. From our service team to health team. The Mecca team in many areas is the Medina team. With a very big organization, we strive to raise all our teachers according to our pilgrimage organization in 2025 for a year. We have about 390 groups of groups here. We have nearly 2,000 religious officials. 5-6 religious officials are involved in each group. We have around 500 female teachers.
“Female pilgrim candidates are more than men”
51.5 percent of our pilgrims consist of women. It was 53 percent last year. This year consists of 51.5 percent of our women. 48.5 percent of men. We say that the pilgrimage is the guidance.
We say that the pilgrimage is the guidance. How can we turn it into pilgrims. How can we transform it into education. How can we explain his wisdom to our pilgrims? About this about this, our teachers have been studying for months in Türkiye. They receive training on their fields. And we see that the training they receive contributes to the rise of the quality of our pilgrimage organization.
“We realized a first this year”
We start the preparation of our 2025 pilgrimage organization at the end of the pilgrimage organization of 2024. We discuss the reports we receive from our teams. After returning to Türkiye, we have a 2 -day meeting. At that meeting, I have to say that 14 of our 14 inspections are working in the convoys of our pilgrims in hotels. 14 Inspector. This year there was another innovation. 5 of our inspector friends from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism are currently inspected in Mecca. We receive all these inspection reports, we collect, we invest on the table.
We evaluate the reports of our team presidents and our teachers who work here. If we have shortcomings in the 2024 pilgrimage, we make our preparations to compensate for it in 2025. We take our measures. In this way, there was a ceremony of the Surre Regiment, which was built on 29 April 2025 from Istanbul 500 years ago from Istanbul on 29 April 2025 and continued until the 1920s. We revived it this year because it was in the Harem region, we held a ceremony in the garden of the Büyük Çamlıca Mosque. We sent our pilgrim candidates with the Qur’an, prayer and hymns. In the past 500 years ago, all our pilgrims were being sent off again with prayers and they call it Surre Regiment. We revived it.
How does the pilgrimage system work?
We apply the coefficient lot system. We are the only country in the world to implement it. There is a lot of lots in other countries. There is a sequential system. Every year, there are countries that repeat the lottery and put the citizen in the lottery under the same conditions and with the same chance. Our coefficient system is one of the most fair systems for me. As a result of the multiplication of the year it was written when it was written, it enters the lottery. Let me give an example if he applied in 2024 last year. But if he applied 10 years ago, he enters the lottery 100 times and the chances of getting out of the lot are 100 times more until newly written. If it was written 15 years ago, the chance is increased more. In 2024, around 150 thousand pilgrims were the citizens who applied to come to pilgrimage. Only one person from so many people was destined to come to pilgrimage in the lot. He just went to one person. But 87 percent of those written from 10 years ago. The chances of the first post is much more. As of now, about 1 million 900 thousand citizens have applied to come to pilgrimage. The population of our country is 86 million. The quota given by Saudi Arabia is as much as the population of the countries. We have 86 thousand quotas, one thousand of the 86 million. 86 thousand people of our citizens who apply for pilgrimage. This is the coefficient system to give more chance to the first posts.
“Our health service is offered free to pilgrim candidates”
Our Mecca Hospital has nothing to fall down from the state hospital in any province in Türkiye. Our 500 employees serve our 86 thousand pilgrims here. We are applying the e-impact system in Türkiye here. When our pilgrimage comes to our hospital, our doctors first see his past on his health status from his e-cabs system. We have just transferred that system here. It is a new development. We have been health services for years, but this has facilitated our services. Sometimes there is no need to take an x -ray again to analyze again. Our doctor immediately sees his status from the e-Pulse of his health-related past. We brought 8 trucks from Türkiye this year. We give our medicines free. Already all completely free. Our health services, pharmaceutical services, x -ray services are applied here free of charge to our pilgrims. And we take our doctors by choosing. We identify our doctors by interviewing 4 thousand applications. May Allah be pleased with all of them. We are very pleased, we are very happy. Our nurses and health personnel. Our hospital works here on 24 procedures. There is no such thing as an emergency open after 3 pm. All is open. Our doctors are constantly working with the spirit of worship. That’s how they approach our pilgrims. We had inpatient patients who visited our hospital. We visited them with roses and wished them healing. There is great satisfaction. We take care of them closely. In addition to our pilgrims, our teams are doing their duties.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki visited ASELSAN Gölbaşı Technology Base as part of his visit to Ankara. During the visit, Nawrocki was accompanied by Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün and ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol. The delegation received comprehensive information about the national technologies developed by ASELSAN in the fields of electronic warfare, radar, air defense, communication and electro-optics.
OUR COOPERATION IS INDISPENSABLE
President Nawrocki said, “Cooperation between the defense industry sectors of Türkiye and Poland is indispensable. We are ready to establish a stronger alliance after the contract we signed with Türkiye in 2025.” he said. Within the scope of defense industry collaborations that have recently gained momentum between Türkiye and Poland, ASELSAN’s solutions especially in the field of electronic warfare and advanced defense systems stand out. Among ASELSAN’s collaborations with Poland, the export contract worth approximately 410 million dollars signed in 2025 for electronic warfare systems is noteworthy.

OUR TRADE VOLUME TARGET IS 15 BILLION DOLLARS:
With the strength we derive from our deep-rooted history with Poland spanning over six centuries; As two allies and strategic partners, we develop cooperation in every field. During our meetings, we exchanged ideas on many topics, from trade to investments, from defense industry to energy and human relations. After reaching our 10 billion dollar trade volume target, we set ourselves a new target of 15 billion dollars. We continue to work determinedly towards our new goal. Poland is among the countries where our contracting companies are most active, with projects worth approximately 9 billion dollars. We hope that the number of these projects will increase even more.
THE MOST IMPORTANT STANDING ITEM OF OUR DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL UNION: Another potential area with Poland is transportation. The three maritime initiatives of which we are strategic partners, with the support of Poland, offer an important platform in this regard. The defense industry is one of the most important agenda items of our bilateral cooperation. We have signed very important partnerships in this field in the past, both on UAVs and other defense projects. As two NATO allies that have an indispensable place in Europe’s security and defense architecture, we are working to further strengthen this cooperation. Strengthening our deep-rooted bilateral relations in a wide range of areas ranging from education and culture to science and tourism will constitute a joint investment in the future of our friendship.
POLAND’S SUPPORT TO OUR EUROPEAN UNION MEMBERSHIP PROCESS SHOULD INCREASE:
During our meetings, we also discussed Türkiye-European Union relations and current, regional and global issues. As we have emphasized on every occasion, we have the will to advance our cooperation with the European Union on the basis of mutual benefit and respect. On this occasion, I would like to thank Poland for its support to our European Union membership process and hope that this support will continue to increase.
WE EXPECT POLAND TO CONTINUE ITS SUPPORT TO THE TWO-STATE SOLUTION: We also evaluated the developments in the context of NATO together with Mr. President. Within the scope of the NATO Summit that we will organize in Ankara on 7-8 July; Strengthening the European pillar of the alliance and strengthening its deterrence constitute our common priority. At this point, we see it as important to further strengthen the transatlantic bond, with European allies assuming more responsibilities. During our meeting, we also thoroughly evaluated the latest situation in the Russia-Ukraine War and developments related to Iran. We highlighted the urgent need for peace in both areas. In this regard, one of the issues that should never be overshadowed is the process leading to permanent peace in Palestine and the Middle East. We expect Poland, which is among the countries that recognize the Palestinian state, to continue its support for the two-state solution. President Erdoğan welcomed Polish President Karol Nawrocki, who visited Türkiye, with an official ceremony. The cavalrymen welcomed Nawrocki’s official vehicle on the street in front of the Presidential Complex and escorted the vehicle to the protocol gate. President Erdoğan welcomed Nawrocki at the main entrance of the Complex. After Erdoğan and Nawrocki took their places in the ceremony area, the band played the national anthems of the two countries. During the ceremony, flags and soldiers representing 16 Turkish states in history were featured, and 21 artillery pieces were fired. TRADE VOLUME EXCEEDED 12.5 BILLION DOLLARS
While the trade volume between the two countries, which has gained strong momentum in the economic field, will exceed 12.5 billion dollars in 2025, it is aimed to advance cooperation especially in the field of defense industry. Poland is one of Türkiye’s important trade partners in Europe. It is envisaged to develop trade with Poland, especially in the defense industry. In 2021, Poland purchased 24 Bayraktar TB2 Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs) from Türkiye and their delivery was completed in 2024. In addition, Poland uses defense systems produced by Türkiye. As one of the last links of the cooperation with Poland, there is an export contract worth approximately 410 million dollars signed in December 2025 for electronic warfare systems. The agreement is of critical importance to increase the security and effectiveness of the Turkish defense industry in Europe and NATO geography.
OUR COOPERATION IS OF STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE
Polish President Nawrocki emphasized that the two countries play a very important role in NATO and that cooperation in this field has a very strategic importance. Nawrocki emphasized the importance of cooperation with Turkey in the field of industry and said, “Polish soldiers use Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles purchased from Türkiye. This kind of cooperation is a sign of how important two states are for the alliance. That is why we definitely want to continue the presence of the soldiers serving at Incirlik Base.”

Stating that Türkiye has been on the side of the Palestinian people since the first day, Minister Çiftçi said, “In the face of such a heavy situation, Turkey has stood by its Palestinian brothers from the first day and has demonstrated a strong will to defend justice, human dignity and law. I want you to know that our state and nation approach the Palestinian issue with high sensitivity.” he said. Emphasizing that Türkiye approaches the Palestinian issue with high sensitivity, Minister Çiftçi said, “Our support will continue with the same determination until an independent, sovereign and territorial integrity Palestinian state is established on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.” he said.
HUMANITARIAN AID MATERIALS DELIVERED TO GAZA REACHED APPROXIMATELY 110 THOUSAND TONS
Providing information about humanitarian aid to Gaza, Minister Çiftçi stated that the delivery of food, medicine and basic needs is of great importance. Stating that Türkiye’s aid continues, Minister Çiftçi said, “In this context, the humanitarian aid materials that we delivered to Egypt’s Ariş Port with 14 planes and 21 ships continue to be shipped to Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, the total of humanitarian aid materials delivered by air bridge, ship voyages, locally provided aid and in cooperation with the United Nations has reached approximately 110 thousand tons. These works are carried out under the coordination of the Turkish Red Crescent and AFAD Presidency. “Thanks to the joint mechanism established between our Directorate of Immigration Management and the Palestinian Embassy, Palestinians who have not been able to complete their official procedures for various reasons are identified and the necessary procedures are completed quickly.” he said.
THERE ARE MORE THAN 350 ILLEGAL SETTLEMENTS IN THE WEST BANK
Stating that it is regrettable that Israel’s unlawful practices are not met with sufficient response by some segments of the international community, Minister Çiftçi said that this situation encourages attempts to usurp Palestinian lands in the West Bank. Minister Çiftçi said, “The existence of more than 350 illegal settlements in the West Bank today clearly reveals the extent of the threat we face.” he said.
“OUR PRIORITY IS TO HAVE A FAIR AND PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THE PALESTINE ISSUE”
Emphasizing that Türkiye’s approach to Palestine is clear, Minister Çiftçi said, “Türkiye’s attitude on this issue is extremely clear and clear. Our priority is to reach a fair and permanent solution to the Palestine issue, to end the tragedy in Gaza as soon as possible, to hold the perpetrators of genocide accountable to international justice, to develop the vision of a two-state solution and to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza without interruption.” he said.
SECURITY COOPERATION IS BEING DEVELOPED WITH PALESTINE
Stating that Türkiye continues its work on the issues within the scope of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ duty, Minister Çiftçi stated that activities are carried out in a wide range of areas, from the fight against terrorism to the fight against organized crime organizations, from migration management to disaster management. Stating that they attach importance to the development of security cooperation with Palestine, Minister Çiftçi said that various training activities are organized in line with the needs and priorities of the Palestinian authorities.
108 TRAININGS WERE HELD FOR PALESTINE POLICE PERSONNEL
Providing information about the training activities for the Palestine Police Force personnel, Minister Çiftçi said, “To date, 108 trainings have been organized by our law enforcement forces for the Palestine Police Force personnel and experience has been shared with nearly 2 thousand brothers.” he said. Minister Çiftçi stated that 143 Palestinian students graduated from the Police Academy and 19 students continue their education, and 4 Palestinian students continue their education at the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy. Minister Çiftçi wished that educational activities would continue to increase in the coming periods.
