The 52nd anniversary of the Peace Operation, which buried the dream of Enosis in Cyprus and saved the Turkish Cypriots from the massacres of EOKA, was celebrated with magnificent ceremonies. Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Celal Adan, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, AK Party GNAT Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş also attended the ceremonies where Türkiye was represented by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. The 52nd anniversary celebrations of the Happy Peace Operation, which brought peace, security and tranquility to the island and was a historical turning point, were held more meaningfully this year within the framework of the increasing strategic importance of Cyprus in the light of regional developments. Türkiye’s messages that it would be the biggest supporter of the Turkish Cypriots unconditionally disturbed the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC).

On the occasion of July 20, Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) carried out a port visit by TCG Gökova, TCG Tufan and TCG I. Vice President Yılmaz gave important messages to the world before the ceremony held in Nicosia on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation and 20 July Peace and Freedom Day:

The international community must now accept that Turkish Cypriots own these lands as much as the Greeks. The way to a just, permanent and sustainable solution is through accepting the sovereign equality and equal international status of the two states. TRNC should be recognized as a sovereign state by the international community.

Cyprus will never be a Greek island. The Century of Türkiye will also be the century of the TRNC.

Under the influence of Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, the European Union institutions have recently reinforced their completely biased approach to the Cyprus issue. Recently, the European Union included unfounded and unfounded statements about Cyprus in its “Common Understanding” document. The European Commission also demonstrated its decision to continue its partisan approach by appointing a “Special Representative for Cyprus” again.

AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik said, “The heroic Turkish Armed Forces will continue to be the guarantor of peace. As our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared to the whole world, we will continue to defend the Turkish Cypriot cause under all circumstances.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan emphasized that Türkiye will continue to defend the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people with determination. Fidan used the following statements in his post: “Turkey, in the Cyprus Peace Operation carried out in line with its rights and obligations arising from the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee, shoulder to shoulder with our heroic Mujahideen, ensured the life safety of our Turkish Cypriot brothers, who were faced with the threat of extinction, and secured their existence on the Island.”

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin said in his post, “Just as we are in unity and solidarity in every field as two countries, we will continue to support our Cypriot children in the field of education, which is our area of ​​responsibility as the Ministry.”

‘TURKISH SOLDIERS ARRIVED AND THERE IS NO FEAR’
The Cypriot Mujahideen, who resisted Greek Cypriot and Greek attacks for a long time, cannot forget the days when the Turkish soldiers landed on the island during the Cyprus Peace Operation on July 20, 1974. Emphasizing that Turkish Cypriots started to smile after the Turkish soldiers set foot on the island, the Mujahideen said that they live in peace and tranquility today, thanks to the courage of the Turkish soldiers. Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) Mujahid Nejat Kocaismail said, “The arrival of Turkish soldiers to Cyprus in 1974 brought confidence to the society.” Mucahit Hüseyin Arpalıklı stated that they saw the first soldiers after hearing that the Turkish soldiers had come to Cyprus while they were on duty at the front and said, “When the Turkish soldiers arrived, we had no fear left. We went and hugged. We were very happy at that moment. It was an indescribable joy.”

VISIT FROM AZERBAIJAN
President of the Turkish Republic of NORTH Cyprus (TRNC) Tufan Erhürman received the delegations of the Azerbaijani National Assembly in Nicosia to attend the 52nd anniversary ceremonies of the Cyprus Peace Operation. According to the information provided by the TRNC Presidency, President Erhürman met with the Chairman of the Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Cavanşir Feyziyev, and the Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ehliman Emiraslanov, and their accompanying delegations.

WARSHIPS ARE OPEN TO VISITS
TURKISH warships were opened to the public at the Kyrenia Tourism Port of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. In the statement made by the TRNC Security Forces Command, it was stated that the combat elements of the Turkish Naval Forces, TCG I. İnönü Submarine (S-360), TCG Harpoon Attack Boat (P-336) and TCG Gökova Frigate (F-496), came to Kyrenia Tourism Port on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. It was noted that the ships in the port can be visited by citizens between 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-17.00, and it was stated that visits to the TCG Gökova Frigate will be provided by sea vessels from the Kyrenia Ancient Port.

Cambridge Central Mosque, which was opened in 2019 with a ceremony attended by President Erdoğan, stands out as the “first environmentally friendly mosque in Europe.” Photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, sedum roofing, natural ventilation systems and wood from sustainably managed forests were used in the mosque. The mosque, where natural materials are used, also attracts attention with its zero carbon footprint feature. Approximately 40 percent of its electricity comes from solar energy.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, Bayraktar participated in the 2nd Grand Wrestling Festival Junior Championship held at Ankara Sports Hall. Bayraktar, who watched the competitions of the little wrestlers together with Turkish Wrestling Federation President Taha Akgül and World Champion National Wrestler Rıza Kayaalp, gave the medals to the athletes who were ranked after the competitions.
