The “2025 Activity Report” of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has been published.
In the report; Intelligence activities carried out in a wide geography, especially in Gaza, Ukraine, Africa and the Middle East, steps taken towards the goal of “Terrorism-Free Turkey” in the fight against terrorism and developing technical-intelligence capabilities came to the fore. It was stated that MİT carried out a simultaneous fight against terrorist organizations throughout 2025, achieved operational successes at home and abroad against radical structures, especially FETO and DAESH, and destroyed spy networks by revealing espionage attempts targeting Türkiye. It was noted that intensive intelligence diplomacy was carried out in Gaza for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid and prisoner exchange, and that an active role was taken in the Syrian crisis from the beginning of the process to the solution phase. İbrahim Kalın, whose evaluations are included in the report, stated that MIT acts with the principles of transparency, accountability and effectiveness in a period when global uncertainties increase, and that they will continue to serve determinedly on all fronts for Türkiye’s security and national interests.
The 2025 Activity Report prepared by the National Intelligence Organization has been published. It was emphasized in the report that MİT continues to resolutely fulfill its duties and activities aimed at eliminating current and possible threats posed internally and externally against the existence, independence, integrity, security, constitutional order and all elements of the Republic of Turkey that constitute its national power.
THE YEAR 2025 WAS PASSED IN THE SHADOW OF WAR AND CONFLICTS
The report states that 2025 will be filled with wars, conflicts and geopolitical fractures; The failure to achieve permanent peace in Gaza despite temporary ceasefires, Israel’s expansion of its attack area and the deepening of humanitarian destruction were discussed in detail. It was stated that the Russia-Ukraine war has evolved into a new phase with nuclear showdowns and autonomous weapon systems coming to the agenda. The report noted that the US-China rivalry has gained the character of a “new cold war” and stated that trade wars have reshaped global supply chains and that the African continent is at the center of the great powers’ struggle for influence.
“OUR COUNTRY HAS DEEPENED ITS GOAL OF A TERRORISM-FREE Türkiye”
At this historical crossroads where global power balances are redefined, the report states that Türkiye will experience a strategic “balance and fortification” period in both foreign policy and internal security in 2025. “Our country, which has once again proven its diplomatic capacity with its effective mediation role in regional crises such as Gaza and Ukraine, has deepened the Terrorism-Free Turkey process, which is the most critical internal security and social peace goal of the “Turkey Century” vision. Gaining momentum with the important steps taken in the first quarter of 2025 and concrete calls for disarmament.” “Terrorism-Free Turkey is moving towards a social consensus with the contribution of the National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission. With the goal of Terrorism-Free Turkey, our country will have achieved not only a security success but also an important strategic achievement in terms of self-determination and regional stability in an age of global uncertainties.”
“HE FAILURED THE SPYING ATTEMPTS TARGETED OUR COUNTRY BY DEVELOPING THEM”
It was emphasized that in this environment where external threats are intertwined with internal security balances, in the midst of turbulence in the global system, MIT operates to influence the internal and external security understanding of the Republic of Turkey against constantly changing threats, to support the production of proactive policies and to ensure the implementation of strategic decisions taken. In the report, “While meeting the intelligence needs of our State and institutions, our National Intelligence Organization closely follows technological developments and follows a hybrid working method by combining them with classical intelligence methods. Our Organization, which works with the motto “Anytime, Anywhere for the Homeland” for the security and peace of our country and nation, will ensure that our country’s strategic control in all areas that concern our national security, especially conflict zones, within the framework of its legal powers and responsibilities throughout 2025. “It has fulfilled critical tasks by taking into account its interests, increased its effectiveness in foreign intelligence by actively using intelligence diplomacy, continued its fight against different terrorist organizations simultaneously, and foiled espionage attempts targeting our country by revealing them.”
MIT TOOK AN ACTIVE ROLE FROM THE START TO THE RESOLUTION OF THE SYRIAN CRISIS
Foreign intelligence approach; In the report, it is emphasized that the MIT Directorate, shaped in accordance with the foreign policy sensitivities and strategy of the state, continues to expand its field of activity both in the field and at the table and to advance its role in strategic decision-making processes by acting with a proactive and pioneering spirit. “MİT, which took an active role in the process from the beginning to the solution of the Syrian crisis, approached Syria from a holistic perspective for more than a year after the December 8 Revolution. On the other hand, in the process of building a new state, proactive steps were taken against new threats that may arise against our country in Syria and prevented the emergence of new threats to our national security in our border region.”
INTENSE INTELLIGENCE DIPLOMACY WAS CONDUCTED WITH ALL ACTORS FOR A CEASE CEASE IN GAZA
The report states that the Organization, which carries out intensive intelligence diplomacy with all relevant actors on permanent ceasefire, humanitarian aid, prisoner exchange, Palestinian Internal Consensus and Two-State Solution in order to end the war in Gaza, which has deeply affected the security architecture of the Middle East and turned into a great human tragedy, has made a concrete contribution to achieving positive results by acting as a bridge between all parties in overcoming the problems experienced in the ceasefire negotiations, and will offer serious gains in political, economic and social dimensions, especially security for Turkey and the region. It was stated that in the studies carried out by taking a direct role in the terrorism-free Türkiye process, all possible scenarios were carefully examined and steps were taken without losing vigilance.
“THE MYTH HAS ENABLED THE DISCLOSURE OF AGENT NETWORKS”
In the report, it is stated that the fight against FETO is continuing resolutely both at home and abroad. “While MIT prevented the organization’s attempts to expand its areas of activity abroad, it ensured that the members of the organization in our country were captured in coordination with the security forces. In the fight against radical organizations; the Organization, which carries out sensitive work to identify members of radical organizations, especially DAESH, has ensured the capture of many members of the organization at home and abroad, and has carried out joint work with many countries, especially African countries, which directly combat the terrorist threat in question.” Our Organization has supported operational activities against the pursuit of action by radical organizations. Our organization, which works to detect intelligence activities carried out against our country by the intelligence services of hostile countries, international organizations and subcontracted institutions/organizations associated with these services, has ensured that espionage activities have been disrupted and agent networks have been exposed in 2025. Our technical intelligence capabilities strengthen our hand and add speed and depth to our intelligence ecosystem. “Every progress we have made in the fields of signals intelligence, satellite intelligence and cyber intelligence carries the MİT Presidency to a different point among the similar intelligence services it competes with.”
‘WE ARE DETERMINED TO FULFILL OUR DUTIES’
Making evaluations in the introduction section of the Activity Report, İbrahim Kalın stated that the 2025 Activity Report of the Directorate of National Intelligence was prepared within the framework of the relevant legislation, with an approach in line with the principles of public transparency, accountability and responsibility, and that it clearly demonstrates that the resources are used effectively and efficiently in the critical tasks undertaken by the Organization, and said, “The first days of 2026, which witnessed events that shook the world agenda with the severe fractures in the fault lines of global politics, will also lead to the geopolitical events of the coming period.” Under these conditions, we are determined to fulfill our duties with the awareness that our country has to fight against various threats simultaneously and follow a multi-dimensional strategy in its security and foreign policy. We will continue our efforts to develop new understandings and increase the level of preparedness of our state from a strategic perspective against threats, as in the past. I have full faith that they will protect our national interests and take them one step further in the future. I would like to express my gratitude to all my colleagues, stating that I am proud of the great efforts made by the devoted and devoted members of our Organization, who have worked with great devotion on this path that we have been advancing shoulder to shoulder with a deep-rooted tradition for 99 years, for the independence, independence of the Republic of Turkey, and the peace and security of our nation. “I commemorate them and bow down with respect to their cherished memories,” he said.

BREAKING NEWS: MHP leader Bahçeli: It is Kılıçdaroğlu’s natural right to express his views
Regarding the New Party founded by Özgür Özel, who left the CHP, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli said, “All parties, especially Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and Mr. Özel, must act within the framework of common sense, maintain mutual respect and take the political struggle beyond personal showdowns.” he said.
In his written statement regarding the New Party, Bahçeli emphasized that the State of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation are above political parties, and underlined that the Turkish nation is at the center of politics and above all political structures. Stating that no intra-party struggle, no seat conflict and no personal resentment can be considered more important than Türkiye’s common future, Bahçeli made the following evaluations: “The Republican People’s Party is one of the deep-rooted institutions of Turkish political life, founded by our first President and eternal Commander-in-Chief, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It is clear that there are deep differences between the Nationalist Movement Party and the Republican People’s Party in terms of ideas, politics and worldview at the point reached today. These differences are natural of democratic life.” This result is of course valid for other parties that are the motifs of our political life. The existence of differences cannot be considered a sign of weakness. On the contrary, every thought that remains within national borders and democratic legitimacy has never been in a colorless and soulless ground where all parties repeat the same words. Democratic life is a common place where different voices are heard and different ideas compete in the presence of the nation. “It is a great national consensus where the will is demonstrated. Making political differences an excuse for conflict will not serve Türkiye. Carrying the separation to the level of hostility, poisoning the competition with a sense of revenge and turning intra-party conflicts into social tension will harm the reputation of Turkish politics.” Bahçeli expressed his opinion that it is CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s natural right to express the injustices he thinks he has suffered, to take legal action and to express his views on the future of his party, of which he has been chairman for many years.
“REOPENING OLD ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BENEFIT ANYONE”
Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu has assumed responsibility in Turkish politics for many years and received the democratic support of millions of citizens, Bahçeli said, “It is not right that the evaluations against him turn into a campaign of insult, belittlement and discrediting. However, it will not benefit anyone to carry all the resentments of the past to today’s political arena, to reopen old scores at every opportunity and to constantly make wounds bleed. If politics becomes an area of showdown where anger never subsides, the competitive environment, whose framework is drawn with red and sharp lines of democracy, will increasingly turn into hostility.” “Reckoning the past should not turn into a search for revenge that holds the future hostage.” made his assessment. Bahçeli reminded that New Party Chairman Özgür Özel took part in Turkish political life both with his political work under the umbrella of CHP and with his post as chairman of the recently established New Party, and that there were 91 deputies who trusted Özel’s policies and a potential electorate who wished him well. Expressing that they do not want Özel’s political personality to be eroded in daily discussions, Bahçeli said, “Just as Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu’s rights were legally respected, Mr. Özel’s knowledge and position should also be respected. Turkish politics does not allow a shallow understanding that concedes one right while sacrificing the other.” made the statement.
