According to the statement made by the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency, at the program held yesterday at the Haliç Congress Center on the occasion of the 573rd anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul and Eid al-Adha, Özdemir presented President Erdoğan with a special helmet inspired by the global vision of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror and the state mentality that transformed the Ottoman Empire into a world power.

Produced as an exact replica of the helmets used during the reign of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror, the work attracts attention with the handcrafted workmanship applied on the steel body. The helmet is decorated with incised and relief motifs, and contains the Surah al-Fath, the names of the four caliphs, and the Basmala on the pediment.

The work, which has a felt coating on the inside, reflects the military aesthetics of the period with its chain pecheneg detail on the back, movable nose visor and pointed peak form.

Uraloğlu, who came together with the citizens staying in the nursing home, chatted for a while and celebrated their holidays. Stating that senior citizens are the most valuable assets of the society, Uraloğlu said, “You are very important for this state, for us. You are our crown jewel.” he said.
