Clear message from Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek: We will eradicate illegal betting and drugs
“COURT ROOMS ARE NOT POLITICAL ARENA”
Minister Akın Gürlek was reminded of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s call regarding the live broadcast of hearings within the scope of investigations against some municipalities.
Gürlek, who was asked about his evaluation of the broadcast of these cases on television, said, “This must be allowed by the legislation. Currently, there is no regulation in our law regarding the live broadcast of these cases, but if the Supreme Parliament shows a will on this issue, it can of course be broadcast. I want to say this, courtrooms are definitely not political arenas, political shows or propaganda cannot be made. Judges decide on behalf of the nation, based on the evidence in the file. We need to especially underline this. Political propaganda should not be made in courtrooms. Judges are not affected by this propaganda. Because judges are supreme. “He decides on behalf of the Turkish nation.” he said.
“Can a person in prison be visited at any time? Can his messages be easily carried outside?” Asked the question, Gürlek said the following:
“We have a legislative gap here. I have instructed my friends on this issue during my Ministry of Justice process. We will make a legal regulation. There is a distinction between detainees and convicts. Lawyers can meet with detainees in prison whenever they want. Even if their lawyer goes there at 3 a.m., they can meet with the detainee, but there is no such thing for convicts. There is such a gap, especially for detainees. Lawyers can meet easily and give them their personal notes and letters. The law needs to be amended. In particular, lawyers can meet with detainees and give notes to each other, and they can do so easily. “Normally, all letters and notes are stamped as ‘seen’ by the prison administration. If they are not appropriate, they are not sent, but since there is a gap in the legal regulations for detainees, the notes can be easily given to lawyers and given to other persons through lawyers. We hope to carry out a study on this and present it to the Parliament.”
“WE NEED TO GET RID OF THE DISEASE OF ILLEGAL BETTING”
Pointing out that the issue of illegal betting is a bleeding wound of the nation, Gürlek said that he fought against this issue when he was the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor.
Stating that he will address this issue as the Minister of Justice, Gürlek said, “We need to get rid of the illegal betting problem. We have solved the illegal betting system. If there is a lack of legal regulation, we will make legal regulation. Illegal betting companies are constantly following the technology. We close a site, two minutes later a dot is placed at the end of the site and it reopens. The important thing is to dry the entire source. We may have deficiencies in terms of legal regulation. We will do about them.” he said.
Pointing out that they carried out important operations within the scope of “fixing match-fixing in football” investigations, Gürlek said, “We did not look at the names, titles and identities of the individuals here either. Football must be clean. Match-fixing should not be done here. We have carried out very sensitive studies on this issue. There is a special office in the Istanbul Courthouse. It works very well in this regard. We will spread it in Türkiye as well. As the Minister of Justice, I promise the society about illegal betting, we will go to the end of this matter, we will root it out.” “We will scrape it. If there is a deficiency, we will correct it.” he said.
Emphasizing that drugs are Türkiye’s biggest problem, Gürlek said, “We have taken the necessary steps regarding drugs. We have carried out good operations in Istanbul. Hopefully, we will do whatever is necessary to get rid of the drug epidemic during the Ministry of Justice period. Families are very upset about their children using drugs. Mothers and fathers come to me and say ‘save our sons from this disease’. We will go to the end of this process.” he said.
Stating that they reached the “barons” from drug users, Gürlek said, “I would like to thank our members of the Istanbul Police Department, our gendarmerie personnel and our prosecutor friends. We worked very well on these issues. Hopefully, we will work well as the Minister of Justice. The system is a system that goes from bottom to top. You catch the bag dealer, you catch the distributor, you catch the main distributor. You said barons, look, we carried out the Çetin Gören operation, 12 people were arrested. Then the name Siirtli Naci came out. “There is also a fight against the barons.” he said.
“FIGHT AGAINST FETO WILL CONTINUE UNINTERRUPTED”
Regarding the fight against FETO, Minister Gürlek said, “The fight against FETO will of course continue. All our chief prosecutors are already on the alert on this issue. Because FETO is a threat to the state and the country. The new structuring is also being tackled. The fight against FETO is definitely not over, it still continues, and will continue until the end. FETO is definitely our red line, our main agenda. Our fight on this issue will continue uninterruptedly.” he emphasized.
“HELLO JUSTICE” LINE WILL BE ESTABLISHED
Pointing out that citizens mostly complain about the length of litigation processes, Gürlek continued as follows:
“A divorce case, a rental case, a cadastral case takes a very long time. The grandfather files the cadastral case, but it is not completed on time by his grandson. I am thinking of establishing a system like this in my new term as the Ministry of Justice. We will establish a line called ‘Hello Justice’. What is this line? For example, a citizen has a divorce case. The citizen’s divorce case has not been completed for 17 sessions, so the citizen is the victim here and wants it to end. Or there is a rental case. Since 8 sessions. “The rent case is ongoing. Here, the citizen will reach the Alo Justice line. This may be by phone or e-mail.”
Minister Gürlek stated that they cannot give instructions to judges and prosecutors on this issue, but they will convey the grievances of the citizens.
COMMERCIAL COURTS WILL BE GATHERED UNDER ONE ROOF
Stating that Istanbul is a trade city, Gürlek said:
“The world’s trade revolves here. Commercial courts are very important courts. We have very big cases here. We are planning to establish a pilot in Istanbul, I am thinking of gathering all the commercial courts in one place, in a single building. Now, what will be the benefit of this for us? There are commercial courts in Anadolu Courthouse, Çağlayan Courthouse, Bakırköy Courthouse, Küçükçekmece Courthouse. It is very messy. Now the citizens go to Küçükçekmece, cannot make a decision, they leave.” He is applying from the Anatolian Courthouse. All commercial courts will be in a complex, the location is unknown, and our commercial judges will work in these buildings separately from outside the courthouse. This will prevent the process from being prolonged, especially in commercial cases, and will ensure uniformity. We are planning to launch this process as a pilot in Istanbul soon.”
“WE WILL NOT ALLOW STREET GANGS”
Minister Gürlek, on the question about the “new generation criminal gangs”, said, “While working as the Chief Public Prosecutor in Istanbul, we carried out operations against street gangs, but we need to stop the participation. Young people are somehow emulated, or rather encouraged and involved. We need to fight against them. Of course, we may have shortcomings as a law. Some regulations have been made in the 11th Judicial Package. Work on the 12th Judicial Package continues. We will make regulations regarding this. Unfortunately, criminal organizations use these children due to the gap in the law. This is “Legal regulations need to be made on this issue. We need to address the concept of children.” He made a statement.
Emphasizing that they will fight against street gangs until the end, Gürlek said, “We will definitely not let street gangs tolerate it. I hope I will do this as the ‘Executive Minister’. We will destroy street gangs until the end. Operations are already being carried out constantly.” he said.
“GAZA IS OUR RED LINE”
Responding to the question about Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Gürlek said, “As you know, we had the Sumud Flotilla that brought aid to Gaza. Unfortunately, it was attacking brutally and barbarically. During my term as the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, we arrested 37 people. Gaza is our red line. We will take all necessary steps in this regard. Israel’s barbarity and lawlessness are obvious, but we, as the Ministry of Justice, will follow this process.” he replied.
Minister Gürlek said, “The Presidential Strategy Directorate determines a staff. Then, we make recruitments on a provincial basis. In this regard, hopefully, we will bring 15 thousand personnel to our justice community according to a periodic calendar. Likewise, interviews for assistant judge and prosecutor positions will also begin.” gave the information.

They should be more involved in their studies. This is not not about not using the internet, I would especially like to emphasize that.” he said.

When we imposed the sanction, we discussed the feasibility of this with social media platforms. I would especially like to say that some trials were carried out in some countries. There are many examples from England to America, from France to Australia. Therefore, we sent an application to our Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Parliament, taking into account our own values.”

LATEST SURVEY RESULTS: Here is the AK Party’s vote rate! Faruk Acar announced: We see the decline of CHP – Gallery
“We can say that the votes of the AK Party are around 36-37 percent, and that it has reached a good place. We see that the CHP is currently falling at around 25-26 percent. It was a slightly closer level 6-7 months ago. Currently, the trend is evolving in favor of the AK Party. We can interpret this for many reasons, both with the leadership of our President, with the environmental factor, with our taking full action in the field, but most importantly, with the AK Party constantly updating itself.”
Acar pointed out that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a global leader and stated that they consistently made their best efforts without turning away from their path.
AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir expressed his pleasure to meet with journalists at the sahur program.
Stating that they are trying to experience Ramadan in the best way in 39 districts and 961 neighborhoods of Istanbul, Özdemir said:
“I see that our municipalities in Istanbul are celebrating Ramadan more enthusiastically in their own districts this year, focusing on children and young people, including women in the process, and enabling us to have a better Ramadan with our neighbors in our district. Our AK Party Provincial Directorate is spending Ramadan with even more enthusiasm this year. Like this evening, almost every evening here, we thank different segments of society, the valuable groups of Istanbul, our citizens, our neighbors around us, our disabled families, the families of martyrs and veterans. “We held iftar dinners and had the opportunity to come together at sahur.”

Tanju Özcan’s “scholarship” lie has been debunked! He distributed 11 million, evaporated 100 million!
The information revealed within the scope of the operation carried out by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed remarkable financial data regarding the BOLSEV Foundation and its affiliated company. It was determined that a total of 116.8 million TL income was generated between 2024-2025, whereas only 11.9 million TL scholarships were given to students.
It was determined that the company, which was stated to be established to provide income for the foundation, did not transfer a single penny to the foundation, even though it made a profit of 66 million TL, including the return for the next years. It was learned that there were pages left blank in the board of directors’ decision book, and contradictions arose, such as the decision to both rent and sell LED screens that were not active.
MILLIONS WERE COLLECTED, 10 PERCENT WAS GIVEN AS SCHOLARSHIP, THE REMAINING MONEY WAS NOT TRANSFERRED TO THE FOUNDATION.
Financial records examined within the scope of the operation carried out by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Bolsev Eğitim ve Yardım Ticaret A.Ş. It revealed that there is a striking difference between the money collected through the I Love Bolu Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation and the scholarship payments. According to the records entered in the investigation file, a total of 116 million 836 thousand 918 lira was collected through advertising, donations and rental income between 2024 and 2025. However, it was determined that the total amount of scholarships paid to students in the same period was only 11 million 926 thousand lira. This table revealed that only a small part of the money collected reached students as scholarships. According to bank records, as of December 31, 2025, it was recorded that there was a total of 10 million 866 thousand 647 liras in cash, including 1 million 890 thousand 572 liras in foundation accounts and 8 million 976 thousand 75 liras in company accounts. On the other hand, according to the information obtained from the judicial authorities, it was learned that approximately 10 million TL was in the accounts, and more than 100 million TL was removed from the company by showing unreal invoices and various expense items.
THE COMPANY EARNED MILLIONS BUT DID NOT TRANSFER A DIME TO THE FOUNDATION
One of the financial data in the file was that the company did not transfer money to the Foundation, although it had income. When the next years return amount of 42 million 900 thousand lira and the net profit of 23 million 365 thousand 395 lira are added, it was determined that Bolsev Eğitim ve Yardım Ticaret A.Ş. earned a total income of 66 million 265 thousand 395 lira. Despite this, it was determined that although the company was established to provide income to the foundation, it did not transfer even a single penny to the foundation during this period. In the evaluations included in the investigation file, it was stated that there were suspicions that the discourse of granting scholarships to foundations and students may have been used as a “screen” or “showpiece” to raise money.
BLANK PAGES IN THE DECISION BOOK AND CONFUSING LED SCREEN SALES-RENTAL TRANSACTIONS
Another noteworthy title in the documents examined within the scope of the investigation is the municipality-related Bolu Bel Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. There were transactions made through . During the investigation, it was determined that there were pages in the company’s board of directors’ decision book that were left blank, with some decision numbers omitted. In addition, according to company records, it was seen that it was decided to sell 32 LED screens, although there were 20 LED screens in its assets. The day after the decision, it was determined that a sales invoice amounting to 5 million TL plus VAT was issued on behalf of another company. It was also noted in the documents reflected in the investigation file that there were contradictions that the LED screens in question were previously rented by the municipality, but invoices were later issued for the same screens as if a sale had been made.
PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE DEEPENS THE INVESTIGATION
It was learned that the investigation carried out by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office was expanded and deepened based on the financial data and transaction contradictions obtained. It is stated that within the scope of the investigation, the money flow between the foundation and the company and the company’s transactions were examined in detail. The legal nature of the allegations regarding million-dollar money traffic and commercial transactions in the file is expected to become clear in the later stages of the investigation.

Statement from security sources: Türkiye is not a party to the war!
The ballistic ammunition that was fired from Iran and entered Turkish airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean.
In the statement made by security sources on the subject, it was stated that the recent developments in the region once again show how sensitive the global and regional security balances are.
“MISSILES HAVE A DIFFERENT PATTERN”
Underlining that Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Lebanon have become fronts of the conflict by being subjected to intense attacks, security sources stated that the missiles fired at Türkiye from Iran had a different pattern than the attacks on these countries.
Noting that there was no attack intensity as in other countries, sources said that there was no loss of life or property and that all three missiles were neutralized by air defense systems.
“Türkiye IS CAREFUL TO NOT BE DRAWN INTO THE CONFLICT”
Drawing attention to Türkiye’s position on the issue, sources said, “Turkey is not a party to the war and is cautious not to be drawn into the conflict. Turkey acts with a sense of responsibility to prevent new lines of tension in the region and conveys this to all parties. A clear message has been conveyed to the Iranian side about immediately identifying those responsible for the attack and taking the necessary measures.” he said.
“TURKEY HAS THE NECESSARY DETERRENT POWER TO ENSURE ITS NATIONAL SECURITY”
Emphasizing that Türkiye’s cautious attitude should not mean unlimited tolerance, the sources said, “Turkey has the necessary deterrent power to ensure its national security and will not hesitate to take response/sanction measures as it determines when necessary.” He said:
Sources said that the neutralization of the missiles by NATO air defense systems constitutes a critical example in terms of protecting Türkiye’s airspace and the effectiveness of allied coordination.
“Türkiye WILL CONTINUE TO SEE THE KEY TO PEACE IN DIPLOMACY”
Sources stated that while Türkiye maintains security measures at the highest level in this process, it also continues to actively operate diplomacy channels to prevent tensions from escalating further. “The intense leader diplomacy carried out by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan plays a decisive role in reducing tension in the region and preventing conflicts from spreading to a wider geography.” he said.
Sources stated that President Erdoğan’s leading diplomacy continues to be one of the strongest indicators of Türkiye’s responsible state reflex that protects not only its own security but also regional stability in times of crisis, and emphasized that Türkiye will continue to see the key to peace in diplomacy and dialogue while ensuring its security.
“IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE CAREFUL AGAINST THE TRAP OF Sectarianism”
In the statement, which emphasized the importance of being careful against the trap of sectarianism, the following statements were made:
Turning the tensions in the region into a sectarian-based debate in the domestic public and especially on social media is a dangerous trap that can harm Türkiye’s peace and regional stability. Türkiye emphasizes that sectarian discourses should be avoided in public debates as well as in foreign policy. For this reason, it is of great importance to adopt a responsible and unifying language in public evaluations.
In this process, necessary steps are taken against manipulative content circulated in digital media. Disinformation activities aimed at creating public panic and information pollution are closely monitored by relevant institutions and necessary steps are taken.

Last Minute | Important statements from President Erdoğan: What happened to Istanbul after 2019 did not work!
Breaking news: President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the “Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital 1st Stage Groundbreaking Ceremony and the Mass Opening Ceremony of the University’s 16 Education and Dormitory Buildings” in Istanbul.
Highlights from President Erdoğan’s statements:
I am pleased to be with you in Istanbul, the legacy of Fatih, in this beautiful spring weather. I say welcome, you brought joy. Soon, hopefully, we will launch the first phase of our Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and officially open our 16 education and dormitory buildings.
I congratulate March 14 Medicine Day to all our healthcare professionals and our physicians.
The transformation works of Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine were initiated during the great Marmara earthquake and were, I would say, inadequate. A new process management was planned in 2013. The work has continued since 2018. The project was designed in 3 stages.

“THOSE THAT HAPPENED TO ISTANBUL DID NOT WORK”
What happened after 2019? What happened to Istanbul also happened to the protocol. He became a victim of the policy of not laying foundations, not doing any work, and making excuses.
Those who always mention Ataturk’s name when it comes to politics did not protect either the legacy of Gazi Mustafa Kemal or the Museum of Medical History.

Children told their troubles to the Turkish Grand National Assembly – Last Minute News
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey Investigation Commission on Children Driven to Crime was faced with letters from children in prison. Chairman of the Commission, AK Party Istanbul Deputy Müşerref Pervin Tuba Durgut, announced the letters at the meeting where Ankara Bar Associations No. 1 and 2 were heard. While the children explained their regret for the crimes they committed, they stated that they continued to commit crimes due to gaps in the judicial system.
Contrary to academics and professional organizations, children expressed the opinion that “when they commit their first crime, they should not be released and sanctions should be applied.” In the letters, a child who was imprisoned for theft at the age of 17 stated that he was sentenced to over a hundred years, while another child who was imprisoned at the age of 16 said, “If I had not been released for the first crime, I would not have committed so many crimes.” One child stated that he was manipulated through drugs and abuse and said, “If sanctions had been applied for the first or second crime, maybe I would have been reformed.”
Durgut emphasized that the letters reveal two facts: He pointed out that most children face social problems such as broken families, street life, substance addiction, neglect and abuse, and that the perception of impunity in childhood leads to aggravation of crime.
