Consultant Dilan Kaya’s suicide spread to DEM Party: Investigation against DEM Deputy Saliha Aydeniz

Published

on

A new phase has been entered in the investigation into the death of DEM Party Deputy Saliha Aydeniz’s Advisor and Journalist Dilan Karaman on November 27, 2025. It was alleged that the incident, which was first described to the public as a “heart attack” and then as a “suicide”, was tried to be covered up with some reports. Immediately after the incident, an investigation was launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The findings obtained in the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, which closely followed the process initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, taking into account the “suspicious death” objections of the family and lawyers, revealed that an attempt was made to cover up the incident with “reports that did not reflect the truth” prepared by some groups.

HE DID NOT PUBLISH A CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

Dilan Kaya’s suicide spread to the DEM Party. The allegations against Mardin Deputy Saliha Aydeniz, who did not even share a condolence message when her advisor passed away, revealed the chain of negligence in the file. According to the statements of Dilan Karaman’s family reflected in the file, it was claimed that Aydeniz went to the hospital on the day of the incident and wanted “the incident not to be reflected in the press”.

DEM PARTY MADE SELF CRITICISM

DEM Party took a step back after the developments and published a self-criticism, admitting that Karaman’s cry for help remained silent. While Deputy Aydeniz had to resign from his post as the Grand National Assembly Administrative Head, an intra-party disciplinary investigation was initiated against him. DEM Party Women’s Council made a comprehensive statement to the public following the discussions and evaluations regarding the death of Dilan Karaman. In the statement, it was stated that some deficiencies were detected as a result of the evaluations carried out due to the loss of Dilan Karaman, and it was announced that a disciplinary investigation was initiated against Mardin Deputy Saliha Aydeniz.

NGOs PREPARED A REPORT

The report prepared by various non-governmental organizations regarding the death of Dilan Karaman, the advisor of DEM Party Mardin Deputy and Grand National Assembly Administrative Officer Saliha Aydeniz, who died by suicide on November 27, 2025, caused reactions. DEM Party Women’s Council made a written statement regarding the report. In the statement, it was reported that an investigation was launched by the disciplinary board against DEM Party Mardin Deputy and GNAT Administrative Chief Saliha Aydeniz, of whom Dilan Karaman is an advisor, and within this context, Aydeniz resigned from her position as GNAT Administrative Chief at her own request.

“CRITIQUE ON THE REACTIONS”

In its statement, the DEM Party Women’s Assembly reminded that in their previous short statement, they stated that the issue would be discussed in all relevant committees and shared with the public. In the statement, it was emphasized that the self-criticism was considered as a requirement of devotion to the memory of Dilan Karaman, respect for the truth coming from the history of struggle, and responsibility towards all women fighting for women’s freedom. The Women’s Council stated that their biggest self-criticism was not being able to establish a strong relationship with Dilan Karaman in the context of women’s camaraderie. In the statement, it was emphasized that although the duties and responsibilities within the party are different, the effort is equivalent, and that a working approach based on collective will rather than superior-subordinate relations has been adopted in the party.

“WE FAILURE TO fulfil our RESPONSIBILITIES”

It was stated that the shortcomings experienced after the loss of Dilan Karaman were also evaluated on a self-critical basis, and the following expressions were used: “‘What did we miss? What should we have done?’ “Although we searched for an answer to the question and tried to develop a solution, we found that we remained in a waiting position and that we were lacking in fulfilling our responsibilities more strongly and quickly.”

“MALE VIOLENCE WAS NOT DETECTED IN TIME”

In the statement, it was stated that the fact that the male violence Dilan Karaman was exposed to was not known at the time was considered an important problem. In the statement, it was stated that it was clear that the physical and psychological violence of the perpetrator Mazlum Toprak was behind Dilan Karaman’s drive to suicide.

DISCIPLINARY INVESTIGATION ABOUT SALİHA AYDENİZ

In the DEM Party Women’s Assembly statement, it was also reported that MP Saliha Aydeniz, who worked with Dilan Karaman, resigned from her position as administrative chief of her own will. In the statement, it was stated that Aydeniz declared that she would take as basis the will of the Women’s Council and the results of the disciplinary board investigation to be conducted against her. In this context, it was stated that the investigation process was initiated in the party disciplinary board.

Sharing from Director of Communications Duran regarding the May 27 coup: Law and politics are under heavy pressure

Published

Director of Communications Burhanettin Duran, in his post on his NSosyal account, stated that the May 27, 1960 coup took place in Turkish political history as a dark intervention against the will of the nation and added:

“The execution of the late Prime Minister Adnan Menderes, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Minister of Finance Hasan Polatkan left deep scars in the memory and hearts of our nation. In this process, democracy was suspended and law and politics remained under heavy pressure. Today, Turkey, under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, strongly demonstrates that there can be no power above the national will. As we move towards a stronger and more democratic future with the vision of the Turkey Century, we do all kinds of actions towards the will of the nation.” “With these feelings, I remember the late Prime Minister Menderes, Mr. Zorlu and Mr. Polatkan with mercy and prayers, and I condemn any coup.”

BREAKING NEWS | Devlet Bahçeli’s departure to CHP on September 9

Published

on

Breaking news: MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made important statements to Türkgün about the chaos and fights in CHP.

Highlights from Bahçeli’s speech;

“Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu is the Chairman of the CHP. In the next period, Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will normally fulfill the requirements of the court decision to become the chairman. In this context, he will first settle in the Headquarters, carry out the repair and recovery, and eliminate the mess. At the same time, party activities will continue. In this way, it will be possible to rebuild a political party and bring it to democracy, not its collapse.”

9 SEPTEMBER PROPOSAL TO CHP FOR CONGRESS

Kılıçdaroğlu: “CHP must protect its moral values.” Recalling his statement, Bahçeli said, “This determination is also an admission that the CHP has moved away from its founding principles. Therefore, first of all, the Party will need to be controlled financially, legally and administratively, and the reasons that separate the CHP from its founding codes will need to be determined.” he said.

Bahçeli also suggested renewing the current members and holding the congress with a renewed membership structure. He suggested September 9, the founding date of the CHP, as the date of the congress.

Stating that the addressee of the congress call was Kılıçdaroğlu, Bahçeli emphasized that the result should be “respected”:

“After the district and provincial congresses are held, the grand congress will be held on a date deemed appropriate. In our opinion, this date may be September 9, which is also the founding date of the party. It is Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu who will fulfill these. In this way, a cleaned and purified CHP will be established until the grand congress, and Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu will fulfill a historical responsibility by providing a great service to the Republican People’s Party. He will also be able to show his sacrifice by expressing that he will respect whoever wins the congress.”

REACTION TO STREET PROTESTS

Warning to the Özgür Özel team, Bahçeli asked for the street protests to end:

“We are concerned that the transformation of the absolute bankruptcy crisis into intra-party conflict and street protests in the Republican People’s Party, which has a deep-rooted party institutionality in Türkiye, will create a wounded memory not only in the CHP but also in Turkish democracy and political culture.”

NEW PARTY CLAIMS: CHP SHOULD NOT BE DIVIDED

While the possibility of a new party is among the options, Bahçeli emphasized that the CHP should not be divided:

“Our expectation is not a divided CHP; it is a CHP that is united, free from its burdens, and serves Turkey and the Turkish nation. Wearing the institutional identity of the party, polarizing the base and destroying the organizational structure for the sake of struggles for temporary office will result in a heavy responsibility before history.”
