TOLGA took our breath away – Last Minute News
‘MKE Tolga Close Air Defense System’, which was developed by the Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) and carried out its first test firing in Konya last November, was introduced this time to the international delegation attended by 64 people from 24 different countries. MKE Tolga, who made a shooting demonstration at the Karapınar Shooting Test and Evaluation Group Command located in Konya, detected and neutralized air threats one by one in 7 different scenarios, including kamikaze drone, swarm drone attack and ‘Şahid’ type fixed-wing UAV threats. This success of MKE TOLGA was breathtaking. MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş said, “As Machine Chemistry, our production policy is to develop effective, simple and cheap solutions. Because the threat is like that. The threat is also effective, simple and cheap. Therefore, intervening in such a cheap threat with very expensive measures brings a completely asymmetrical financial burden. In order to eliminate it, there is a need to develop simple and cheap solutions that are proportional to the target. The ability to shoot effectively against a target that is very small and very difficult to manage and predict, and the ability to eliminate those targets, is an advanced technology. Today’s “With TOLGA, we aimed for the things you put forward to be cheap and effective, and with this self-confidence, TOLGA once again proved its worth with live shootings in front of the military and civilian delegations of so many countries,” he said.
GOING INTO PRODUCTION
Stating that the development process of the TOLGA Close Air Defense System has been largely completed, Keleş said, “In order to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, our mass production continues in order to bring it into the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, with the decision taken by the Defense Industry Advisory Board. Export contracts have been made to various countries. The processes related to joint production continue by adding new countries. In other words, we will be producing TOLGA in different geographies of the world, some of it in Türkiye and some locally, and providing it to the service of these countries.” spoke.
