This year, we are launching the Transformation Project of the Turkish Agricultural Food Sector for Employment and Rural Welfare, which will be implemented through our Ministry and with the resources provided by the World Bank. With the project, we will facilitate access to finance for entrepreneurs who want to invest in agriculture and food. We will provide repayment financing and credit guarantee system support up to 80 percent of the investment amount. We will provide our businesses with financing opportunities of up to 10 million dollars, with a maturity of up to 7 years, with a grace period of 24 months, and depending on the size of the project.

This financial support will be given to facility construction and machinery and equipment investments in the field of agriculture and food. We are making the first 750 million dollars of this 5.3 billion dollar financing package, which we planned for 10 years, available to our entrepreneurs in 2026. Again, within the scope of this project, we will create a loan volume of approximately 500 million dollars for our farmers who have problems accessing credit and engage in primary production, with the mechanism that will include the Credit Guarantee Fund. Two prosecutors assigned to solve unsolved murders and identify the perpetrators continue their work in coordination by meeting with JASAT (Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team) and police teams. Hopefully, our crop production, which decreased the previous year due to frost and drought events, will increase again this year. I hope this year will be a very fruitful year for many products, especially strategic products such as cereals.”

“OUR CAGR SUPPORT PROGRAM HAS STARTED TO BEAR FRUIT”

President Erdoğan stated that rural development forms the basis not only of agriculture but also of development policies.

Emphasizing that his priorities in this field are especially for young people and women to become the main actors of rural development, Erdoğan said:

“The aim is to increase the number of our breeder animals, to strengthen our family businesses, and to ensure that our women and young people take more part in animal husbandry. These are the targets we particularly focus on. Our Rural Abundance Livestock Support and Rural Abundance Sheep Support Projects were in great demand among our producers. We will make these support programs permanent, where our citizens procure animals at low cost and with affordable loans, and the annual maintenance and feeding expenses and insurance premiums are covered by the state. Our cattle support program has begun to bear fruit. Thank God, calves are being born, herds are growing, production is getting stronger. Applications for our sheep support program have been completed. We will deliver the first animals to the beneficiaries next month. On the other hand, we allocated 20 percent of the 10 billion lira budget we allocated to the Rural Development Investments Program to young people and 30 percent to our family businesses. This year, we increased both our grant support rate and the project limit amount to receive support from 100 thousand liras. “We will grant 50 to 70 percent of the amount for projects up to TL. TURKISH CITIZENS ABROAD

“Remember, last summer, they did nothing for a patriotic brother of ours whose heart was burning with longing for his homeland, just because he praised Türkiye. We witnessed this once again last week. Our Minister of Family and Social Services visited our tradesmen living there during his visit to Belgium. What was it, why was he visiting our tradesmen abroad? Why don’t we visit tradesmen in Türkiye but in Europe? A person has some conscience, a sense of justice, and enough political intelligence to follow his opponents. Let’s say these don’t exist. At least people have national consciousness. As in the famous story, where should we fix this?

Erdoğan stated that the AK Party and the People’s Alliance are the team that comes together with the tradesmen most frequently and has the strongest contact with the business circles, from merchants to industrialists.

Explaining that mayors and provincial and district leaders knock on the doors of merchants in their provinces and districts at every opportunity and ask how they are doing, Erdoğan said:

President Erdoğan stated that the share of citizens abroad in tourism revenues alone is over 11 billion dollars.

“This being the case, knocking on the doors of these citizens, visiting them, asking about their well-being and memories is causing trouble for some people. However, what should be questioned here is never our being together with our brothers abroad. What should be questioned is that the opposition parties do not have such an agenda. What should be criticized is that those who make politics in this country ignore our citizens who have roots in hundreds of countries of the world. What should be ashamed is that they insult the European Turkish community, which is an integral part of our nation, These are alienating and divisive discourses. What is truly disgraceful is the despicable mentality that insults the Turkey-loving hearts that successfully represent our country abroad by calling them ‘bullshit.’ “We will continue to embrace them. We will continue to knock on their door not from election to election like the opposition, but also at other times, and share their troubles and joys. We will always continue to stand by our 7 million people who have turned abroad into a home, with our Consulates General, our diplomatic missions, our Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, our AK Party Foreign Relations Directorate and all our other institutions.”

The verdict hearing of the case in which 41 defendants, including Niyazi Nefi Kara, who was suspended from his post as Manavgat Mayor, deputy mayors, council members and business people, were tried, has started.

INDICTMENT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED

In the indictment, it was claimed that a criminal organization was established within Manavgat Municipality for profit purposes and that Niyazi Nefi Kara was the manager of the organization. It was claimed that Kara was primarily responsible for the crimes of ‘establishing a criminal organization’, ‘taking bribes’, ’embezzlement’ and ‘extortion’ with the people he brought together using public power. While a total of 31 to 69 years of imprisonment was requested for Kara for 6 separate crimes, including ‘forming an organization to commit a crime’, ‘bribery’ and ‘extortion’, various prison sentences were also requested for the other defendants.

Manavgat Deputy Mayor Mehmet Engin Tüter red-handed

In addition to Niyazi Nefi Kara, the detained defendants included deputy mayors Mehmet Engin Tüter and Sıla Ceyhan Berkaya, Kara’s nephew Hüseyin Cem Gül and contractor Mesut Kara. Following the previous hearings in December 2025, January 2026, March 2026 and last month, the new hearing of the case started today. 41 defendants, 5 of whom were detained, as well as complainants, party lawyers and relatives of the defendants were present at the hearing.
