ISTANBUL’S TWO AIRPORTS ARE CONNECTED BY RAILS
Referring to the Northern Ring Railway Project, which will relieve Istanbul traffic and logistics, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are on the verge of a new historical step, especially with the Northern Ring Railway Project. This line, with a total length of 125 kilometers, will relieve the freight and passenger traffic on Marmaray, and will directly connect the two major airports of Istanbul for the first time.” For this project, which has attracted great interest in the international arena, we have reached a preliminary agreement with 6 prestigious financial institutions, including the World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, OPEC International Development Fund and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. This agreement, which will provide a total of 6.75 billion dollars of financing, also bears the title of Türkiye’s largest externally financed railway project. The tender announcement was published in the Official Gazette last week, following the tender process. “With the completion of the line, we will reach a capacity of 33 million passengers and 30 million tons of freight per year. Undoubtedly, this line will open a new era in railway transportation between Asia and Europe,” he said.

“We are implementing new lines that will support the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line, which we put into service in 2017. Our 224-kilometer Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu Railway project, which supports the Zengezur Corridor, which will open a second gate in our country via the Central Corridor, is also progressing successfully. We continue our international cooperation efforts in the Development Road project, which will carry cargo from China, East Asia and India to Europe via the FAW Port in the Persian Gulf. New “We will further strengthen the economic and geopolitical status of our country with the Development Road Project, which we describe as the Silk Road.”
ÇORUM IS GETTING A RAILWAY FOR THE FIRST TIME
Sharing the latest status of the work on the Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun line, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are currently at the heart of one of Türkiye’s most important railway projects. As you know, our Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun line goes down in history as the first high-speed train passenger transportation project to the north of Türkiye when we consider Ankara-centered. Our Ankara-Konya and Konya-Karaman high-speed train lines have been serving our citizens for many years. The following lines of these lines, Karaman-Ulukışla And the construction of our Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep high-speed train lines continues. This line, which is progressing with your efforts, is not only a transportation route extending from Ankara to Samsun and the Black Sea, but also rises as a bridge of civilization that will strengthen our brotherhood, relieve our homesickness and increase the prosperity of our region. Especially during religious holidays where spirituality reaches its peak, such as the upcoming Eid al-Fitr, increasing traffic on Kırıkkale, Delice and Çorum routes. We are implementing the 120 kilometer Delice – Çorum section of the 293 kilometer new high speed train line, which will start from Delice and pass through Çorum and Merzifon, working day and night with 3 thousand personnel and 850 machines. As of today, our general physical progress in this stage has reached approximately 23 percent by excavating 27.61 million cubic meters. “We have achieved 87 realizations, a total of 9 thousand 507 meters in 8 tunnels. We continue our construction work on 13 of 31 bridges, as well as on underpasses, overpasses and culverts,” he said.
THE BETWEEN ANKARA AND SAMSUN WILL BE 2.5 HOURS
Minister Uraloğlu, heralding that Çorum will be connected to the railway network for the first time with the completion of the line, said, “When this line, planned for a speed of 200 kilometers, is completed, an uninterrupted high-speed train connection will be provided between Ankara-Kırıkkale-Çorum and the distance between Çorum and Ankara will be 1 hour and 20 minutes. In addition, we have included the connection between Çorum and Samsun, which is the continuation of our line, in the investment program this year. Hopefully, we plan to realize its construction tender within the year. With the completion of the Çorum-Merzifon-Samsun sections, the travel time between Ankara and Samsun will be 2.5 hours; 12 million passengers and 14 million tons of cargo will be transported annually; a strong logistics axis will be established between the Black Sea and the Central Anatolia and Mediterranean basins, and a significant capacity increase will be achieved in regional development and freight transportation. “It will also ease the freight traffic on the straits and make Türkiye a logistics superpower in global trade,” he said.

Head of Communications Duran: Strong women build a strong society
The opening of the photography exhibition titled “Women Touching Life” was held at the Presidency Directorate of Communications building on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day.
Speaking at the opening, Duran said that the event was organized not only to commemorate a calendar day, but also to emphasize the active role of women in social life.
Referring to the historical transformation of women’s labor, Duran said, “Women’s dignity, labor and social value are, for us, an expression of a deep-rooted understanding that is among the fundamental values of our civilization, beyond a modern search for rights. In our culture, women are an essential subject that establishes and transforms society.” he said.

“STRONG WOMEN BUILD A STRONG SOCIETY”
Duran emphasized that Turkish women took responsibility in the fateful moments of the nation, from the War of Independence to July 15.
Reminding that with the Republic, women gained the right to vote and be elected before many Western countries, Duran reminded that there were also periods in the past when women were excluded from education and business life due to their beliefs.
Duran said:
“Thankfully, the obstacles that occurred during the February 28 period, ranging from university life to the public and private sectors, have been overcome one by one today. Under the leadership of our President, all obstacles to freedom of belief have been eliminated. Turkey has taken important steps to establish equality between men and women, especially in the last 24 years, with public policies and constitutional regulations aimed at strengthening women’s rights.
“WOMEN ARE NOW INVOLVED MORE EFFECTIVELY IN DECISION-MAKING MECHANISMS”
In this process, incentives to increase women’s employment have been implemented, loan and grant programs have been offered to entrepreneurial women, and the actual basis of legal equality has been strengthened with practices such as maternity-nursing leave and child allowance. “Women in Türkiye are now more actively involved not only in the field but also in decision-making mechanisms.”

Stating that the empowerment of women and the strengthening of the family are complementary elements, Duran drew attention to the importance of a life free from violence and economic security.
The exhibition, which was opened to visitors at the Presidential Directorate of Communications Exhibition Hall, includes 41 photographs taken between 1934 and 1986.
In the selection, the stories of women who left their mark in every field of life, from tea harvest workers to ceramic factory employees, from the first female announcers at Ankara Radio to Türkiye’s first female taxi driver, are told.

Discord to the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood! Ugly support for MOSSAD’s black propaganda: Guliyev’s immoral slander against Berat Albayrak and Turkuvaz Media
October 19, 2018: STAR Refinery, built by Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR in Aliağa/Izmir, was opened with a ceremony.
The refinery, where President Erdoğan and President Aliyev cut the ribbon together, became the largest real sector investment made at once in Türkiye with an investment of 6.3 billion dollars.
In his speech at the opening, Erdoğan stated that the STAR Refinery took the relations between the two countries “one step further” and that the economic partnership deepened.
Following previous projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) gas line, the STAR Refinery formed a new link of the strategic energy projects implemented by the two countries with TANAP, which came into operation in June 2018.

30 November 2019: The European connection of the TANAP natural gas pipeline was completed and an opening ceremony was held in İpsala district of Edirne.
At the ceremony attended by President Erdoğan and President Aliyev, most of the Southern Gas Corridor project was completed with the connection of the TANAP line to the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) on the Greek border.
Thus, all infrastructural obstacles to the transmission of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via Turkey were removed.
As of the end of October 2019, Türkiye received a total of 3.18 billion m³ of gas from TANAP, and this amount was planned to be gradually increased to 6 billion m³ per year.
2019 (Commercial Relations): During this period, the trade volume between Türkiye and Azerbaijan increased steadily.
In 2019, bilateral foreign trade volume reached approximately 4.5 billion dollars.
2019 (Investments): Azerbaijan’s direct investments in Türkiye reached historical levels in this period. Especially thanks to energy projects such as the STAR Refinery and Petkim petrochemical facilities, Azerbaijan became one of the countries that invested the most in Türkiye between 2015-2020.
By 2020, Azerbaijan’s total investment in Türkiye approached 20 billion dollars (about 17 billion dollars in energy and 3 billion dollars in non-energy sectors). Similarly, Turkish companies have expanded their activities in Azerbaijan in sectors such as energy, construction, infrastructure, telecom and banking.
February 25, 2020: Important agreements were signed between the two countries within the scope of the 8th High Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting held in Baku.
The most notable was the Preferential Trade Agreement.
With this agreement signed in the presence of President Erdoğan and President Aliyev, it was decided to set annual tariff quotas in 15 mutual product groups and reset customs duties.
The Preferential Trade Agreement is a historic step that aims to remove obstacles to trade between the two countries and increase the volume.
During the same visit, various memorandums of understanding, including an action plan, were signed between the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO).
September – November 2020: During the Second Karabakh War, which started on September 27, 2020 and lasted 44 days, Türkiye provided strong diplomatic support to Azerbaijan.
Turkish officials defended the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan at the highest level and reiterated their calls for an end to the occupation of Armenia.
Türkiye declared that it considered Azerbaijan’s operations based on international law as “its own case”.
After the war ended with Azerbaijan’s victory on November 10, 2020, Türkiye expressed its satisfaction with the result and once again showed that it stood by Azerbaijan in its rightful struggle.
This process reinforced the strategic alliance dimension of the two countries and further strengthened the sense of brotherhood in the public opinion.
As a matter of fact, President Erdoğan expressed this closeness in his statement right after the victory, saying, “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow.”
(2015-2020): Concrete projects and agreements implemented during this period show that Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations have reached a historical peak.
The opening of the TANAP natural gas pipeline and SOCAR investments in the field of energy, the commissioning of the BTK railway in transportation, close cooperation in the field of defense and diplomacy, preferential agreements and increasing volume in trade were evaluated as practical reflections of the “one nation, two states” approach.
ONE OF TANAP’S ARCHITECTS; BERAT ALBAYRAK…
Berat Albayrak, who was slandered as “anti-Azerbaijan”, left his name on the pages of history as one of the architects of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project, which is the symbol of the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood. Albayrak said about TANAP in 2018, “TANAP is also an investment in brotherhood. It is the ideal of two states and one nation crossing borders and reaching new geographies and new people. It is the greatest legacy that the true friendship and affection between the two countries will leave to the future.”
Moreover, the Azerbaijani press describes TANAP as the “project of the century”. In such an environment, attributing “anti-Azerbaijan” to Berat Albayrak is nothing more than a huge contradiction.
