Minister Göktaş explained the details of the social media law: “This is not a ban, it is a regulation.”
Minister Göktaş shared a video on his social media account in which he answered questions regarding social media regulation for children. In his post, Göktaş said, “Let’s state it clearly once again. We are implementing regulations that secure our children and protect our future generations.
We want to dominate a digital ecosystem where our children can navigate safely and move forward safely into the future. “We will continue to take strategic steps towards this goal and work determinedly for our only children.”
“THIS IS NOT A BAN, IT IS A REGULATION”
In the video, “How far is the ban? Can’t we educate our children instead?” Göktaş answered the question: “This is not a ban, it is a regulation. Of course, we should provide education. We need to provide it to the whole society. We already have education programs for adults. Just as we give traffic education to our children but also put a lamp on, it is the same. Ultimately, social media should also have a traffic light.” he replied.
“So will children never be able to access the internet?” On the question, Göktaş said: “Of course, it will be on the internet. Our aim here is to bring a limitation and regulation to the platforms where foreigners can access our children. Ultimately, our children will be able to do their research and access the internet. Our aim is to bring a regulation to these companies, which earn billions of dollars especially through our children.”

Big scandal from the artificial intelligence tool Grok: He translated President Erdoğan’s words with slang!
Grok, the artificial intelligence robot developed by US billionaire Elon Musk’s xAI company, has caused a new scandal. A phrase used by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his speech at the AK Party Group Meeting held today was completely misinterpreted by Grok to the world public.

TRANSLATION DISGRACE FROM GROK
Reacting to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, President Erdoğan said, “The old Türkiye no longer exists, you will burn as much land as you can…”. Erdoğan’s statement, “You can burn as much space as you can”, which means “You can do as much work as your capacity and sphere of influence”, was taken out of context by Grok. By misinterpreting the word origins and idiomatic structure, the artificial intelligence translated the text into English with a sentence that contained heavy slang and turned it into a sexually explicit insult.
REACTIONS ARE RAINING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
After the translation error was noticed, social media users reacted harshly to the situation. Users with the translation feature turned on continue to read Erdoğan’s post in an offensive language that is completely far from its original meaning, contrary to diplomatic courtesy.
